Devouring Demons in Demon Slayer

Hearing this, Tanjiro remembered Ryuji and the Shinichi brothers. With the silk-controlling {female demon} defeated, the brothers should be free. He needed to regroup with them.

After reuniting with the Shinichi brothers, Tanjiro planned to retrace their steps and find Ryuji. He was unsure of his situation.

He caught up with Inosuke. "Inosuke, don't wander off! We need to meet up with Shinji and then find Ryuji-senpai!"

Soon, Tanjiro and Inosuke rejoined the Shinichi brothers at their previous encounter point.

They were tending to the surviving Slayers. While fortunate to be alive, their injuries were severe and irreversible.

Shinji, overjoyed to see them, noticed Inosuke's injuries. "Um, Inosuke, are you alright?!"

"Go away, I don't need your concern!" Inosuke dismissed him.

Shinji's kindness was met with coldness, leaving him embarrassed and speechless.

Tanjiro stepped in, mediating, "Inosuke is strong; you don't need to worry so much."

"—How is the situation here? How many Slayers survived?" Tanjiro asked, changing the subject.

Shinji sighed, "Only two survived, but their injuries are critical. They might last a few hours. Without treatment, they'll die."

Tanjiro felt despair. Only two survivors—a disappointing outcome.

"Did you see Ryuji-senpai?" Tanjiro asked.

Shinji shook his head, indicating no.

Tanjiro was puzzled. Was Ryuji-senpai still fighting the two {Lower Rank demons}? Had he led them elsewhere? Or had he perished with them?

He considered various possibilities, growing increasingly worried about Ryuji.

He briefly examined the two survivors. One was the female Slayer who had warned them earlier.

She had no visible wounds, but most of her bones were broken—far worse than before.

Seeing their condition, Tanjiro thought of Ryuji. If he were here, he could use his abilities to temporarily alleviate their suffering.

"Inosuke, can you use your spatial awareness to find Ryuji-senpai?" Tanjiro asked.

The mountain's scents were too complex for his nose to detect Ryuji's presence; he wasn't sure if Ryuji was still at their initial encounter point with the Shinichi brothers.

Inosuke used Beast Breathing, Seventh Form, Spatial Awareness, to sense the nearby area.

After a short while, he withdrew his hand, stood up, and said, "There's no other life activity nearby."
