Demon Slayer: The Great Swordsman's System, Disciple of Yoriichi

Observing the expressions of the people around him, Si Shu knew they had mistaken him for the murderer. Their brows were furrowed, their gazes fixed on him, watching his every move. They swallowed nervously, their hands clenched into fists, ready to defend themselves.

A man with glasses and a stiff, executive-like expression spoke. "Stay right there, murderer." He then directed the others to surround Si Shu while he called for the hotel manager.

After a brief explanation, the man with the glasses concluded that Si Shu had killed all the missing people. Pointing a finger at Si Shu, he shouted at the toad-like manager.

"I understand. I will handle it," the manager replied. Surprisingly, he showed little panic. He found a rope, tied Si Shu up, and said he would find a professional to deal with the situation.

Nodding, the man with the glasses and his group of a dozen people relaxed slightly. In their eyes, once the manager dealt with Si Shu, their own safety would be guaranteed.

But as the manager pushed Si Shu along, Si Shu noticed something strange about his movements. The right side of his body seemed weak, and he walked with an unsteady gait, as if a tendon had snapped. The air also carried that same, almost imperceptible sweet scent.

This smell... could it be? His mind raced, and a possibility began to form.

"I left something inside," Si Shu said, suddenly stopping and pointing to the nearby changing room.

"Something? Could it be the murder weapon?" the man with the glasses thought, his eyes glinting. He believed it could be an item to incriminate Si Shu. "Wait a moment, I'll go get it. It might be evidence."

He jogged into the changing room and came out with the Nichirin Blade. "It's a sword! You really are the murderer!" he shrieked upon seeing it. With a look of disgust, he threw the sheathed sword from a distance.

Watching the Nichirin Blade fly through the air, Si Shu knew his chance had come.

A sharp light shone in his eyes. He moved.

Twisting his body, he slammed an elbow into the toad-like manager's face. Yelping in pain, the man loosened his grip on the rope. Seizing the opportunity, Si Shu leaped up and kicked the bottom of the scabbard. The Nichirin Blade flew out, falling straight towards the ground below. He stretched his bound hands forward, intending to catch the blade.

"Yah!"

Just as everyone thought Si Shu's hands would be severed, the blade stabbed straight into the ground, not harming him at all. The falling blade landed perfectly between the ropes binding his hands, slicing them apart. If it had been off by even a centimeter to the left or right, it would have pierced his wrist and severed an artery.

Shing~

Pulling the blade, which had sunk five centimeters into the ground, free, Si Shu charged directly at the toad-like manager. By now, the manager had just recovered from the pain. Seeing Si Shu rushing at him with a sword, he instantly retreated. The back of his clothes tore open, revealing seven long tentacles.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!

The tentacles shot out, embedding themselves in the ceiling and hoisting the manager's body into the air.

Seeing the manager reveal his true form, Si Shu said calmly, "So you really are a demon."

"Damn you, kid! You're a Demon Slayer!" the Tentacle Demon snarled, his face a mask of fury and hatred. "How did you find out my identity?"

"It was just a guess," Si Shu shrugged. "Didn't you notice? When I came at you just now, I was using the back of the blade."

Realizing he'd been tricked, the Tentacle Demon's expression twisted in rage. His sharp teeth gnashed, and the veins on his forehead bulged. "Since you've found me out, you can die with the rest of them!"

His tentacles retracted and then shot out like springs, stabbing towards Si Shu and the panicking crowd.

"Sun Breathing, Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow!"

Faced with the attack, Si Shu used Sun Breathing's evasive form. With high-speed twists and turns, not a single one of the seven tentacles managed to touch him.

"How is that possible?!" the Tentacle Demon stared, his eyes wide with horror, unable to believe his attack was completely ineffective. Every other Demon Slayer he had faced with this move had been skewered like a pincushion. Si Shu was the first to dodge it so easily.

"Sun Breathing, Sixth Form: Burning Bones, Summer Sun!"

The Nichirin Blade in Si Shu's hand danced, creating a tornado of fire that swirled around him. Faced with this attack, the Tentacle Demon was forced to resort to his final defense. His seven tentacles coiled together in front of him, forming a shield. Huddled behind it, he sneered. In his mind, after unleashing such a powerful attack, Si Shu must be exhausted. He would be nothing but meat for the slaughter. The demon was already imagining all the ways he would dispose of Si Shu.

BOOM!

The fiery tornado slammed into the tentacle shield, instantly obliterating it. Searing pain shot up from the severed stumps, and the demon was shocked to find that his tentacles, a part of his own body, could not regenerate.

His twisted face was covered in sweat. It was the first time he had ever experienced being unable to regenerate a limb.

"Sun Breathing, Seventh Form: Solar Heat Haze!"

Si Shu thrust his Nichirin Blade upward, and a circular blaze erupted on both sides of the blade.

In a moment of life and death, the Tentacle Demon screamed, "Help me!"

The words had barely left his mouth when the ceiling of the hotel shattered and a gaunt figure dropped down from above. Grabbing the Tentacle Demon, the figure turned and fled out of the building. But this new demon still underestimated the power of Solar Heat Haze. Even without a direct hit, its power was not to be trifled with.

An explosion ripped through the hotel, causing it to collapse.

Crash!

Slicing through the falling bricks and debris, Si Shu emerged, carrying the man with the glasses who hadn't managed to escape. Although the last attack hadn't killed the two demons, their bodies had sustained significant damage. Under the effects of Burning Bones, Summer Sun, they would be unable to regenerate for some time.

Elsewhere, the rescued Tentacle Demon was now missing half his body. "You bastard, couldn't you have come out to save me sooner? My body hurts so much, I can't regenerate at all."

The demon who had saved him was a gaunt, sallow-skinned creature with high cheekbones, resembling a dried corpse.

"Shut up," the Corpse Demon hissed. "You think I got off easy?"

Only then did the Tentacle Demon notice that the Corpse Demon's clothes had been completely shredded. The moon hung high in the sky, casting its light upon the earth. On the rooftops of the town, a naked figure was running everywhere.

The Corpse Demon ran and ran, all the way to the foot of the high mountain next to the town. After checking his surroundings to ensure no one was there, he ran into the mountains. Before long, a massive cave appeared before the two demons.
