As Esther walked into the office, the soft hum of the air conditioning and the gentle chatter of her employees greeted her. She made her way to the meeting room, where the CEO of White Glass Inc. was already waiting. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, and Esther's eyes scanned the room, taking in the sleek, modern decor.

"Welcome," the CEO said, standing up to greet her. "I've heard so much about you, Miss Lan. You're quite the legend in the fashion world."

Esther smiled politely, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm just trying to make a name for myself," she said, her voice light and playful.

The meeting was productive, and the two parties discussed the details of their collaboration. When the CEO suggested hiring a model to showcase Eastbourne's designs, Esther's mind began to wander. She thought about the competition and the scheduling conflict.

"Could we move the time from morning to sunset?" Esther suggested, her voice firm but courteous. "I think it would add a dramatic touch to the showcase."

The CEO nodded thoughtfully. "That's an interesting idea. The lighting would be better, and it would really highlight the beauty of your designs."

After the meeting, Esther left the office and took a cab to Eastbourne Plaza. As she arrived at the entrance, her phone rang. It was Gerald Li, her trusted advisor.

"Hello, young miss," Gerald's voice said warmly. "I have some news about the business dinners. You've received two invitations, one from the Blackwood family and one from the Ibarra family."

Esther's eyes narrowed slightly as she listened to Gerald's words. She knew why Vanessa had invited her, and it made her blood boil. "Reject the Blackwood invitation and accept the Ibarra family's invitation," she said finally, her voice cool and detached.

Gerald nodded, even though Esther couldn't see him. "As you wish, young miss," he said, his voice respectful. "But may I ask, is there a particular reason why you're rejecting the Blackwood invitation?"

Esther smiled to herself. "Let's just say I have my reasons, Gerald. Reasons that will become clear soon enough."

Gerald's curiosity was piqued, but he knew better than to pry. He nodded, his voice smooth and professional. "Very well, young miss. I'll take care of it."

As Esther ended the call, she couldn't help but think about Vanessa and Andy. She knew she had to attend Andy's party, not just to prove a point, but to show them that Lilith Lan wasn't someone to be underestimated. A small smile played on her lips as she thought about the surprise she had in store for them. She was looking forward to it.
