Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Misplacement or Invasion
"Are you for real? The message came directly from your Central Station. Our Station picked it up. I mean, I saw the message display on our screen." Aaron said in disbelief.
"Don't really know but we did not send any message Tokyo. Infact we were just informed about this now." Ash Gold said calmly.
"This sounds crazy. How in heaven's name can your Guild send us a message without your approval? Is your security that frisked up? Damn! This is really pathetic." Aaron admitted. Tashida stared at him.
"Which means we have an enemy? I mean our technical security is too high to be penetrated through. Only one of us can access the lock of our inbox and outbox." Ash Gold said. Tashida scowled.
"Don't be silly. Which of us would do that? Besides, what do we stand to gain from that?" Tashida said in disgust.
"That's the very point. What is the gain of the enemy? What does whoever that is orchestrating this, hope to get by destroying Tokyo?" Aaron asked.
Suddenly the cloud went dark and heavy. The three Hunters looked up to see the clouds. Water began to drop from the sky as rain. They started at each other for a moment. The weight of the event just dropping down in them.
"Why did it suddenly begin to rain?" Aaron queried no one in particular but himself.
"Are you crazy? You are actually questioning nature?! I heard you were crazy but I didn't phantom this.!" Tashida said in disgust.
"Yah. I totally agree with him. It just suddenly began to rain. That's really unnatural. I have to admit I like his method of reasoning." Ash Gold and smiled at Aaron.
"So you two really think like scums. Damn!!" Tashida said but no one spoke again. The place was eerie quiet.
"So what do we do about the internal enemy?" Tashida asked but more especially to Ash Gold who smiled lightly. Aaron scuffed lightly.
"Well we will have to play..." Ash Gold was interrupted by the deep exhale of James. Everyone turned to stare at him as he struggled to get to his feet. Aaron rushed over to him and struggled to get him up.
Tashida stared at them momentarily. He felt a rush of disgust run over him.
"I can't believe, we've got a gay as the leader of Tokyo Hunters." Tashida said with pure disgust. Aaron turned to stare at him. His eyes burned with great fury.
"What's the matter boy?" Tashida said in mockery. Aaron wanted to speak when James's eyes opened fully.
"Huh! Where is the demon boss?" James asked. Everyone stared at him confused. This was getting all too confusing. Aaron stared at him shocked. He thought he had slayed the boss of raid.
"What do you mean? I have slayed it." Aaron said and smirked proudly.
"Are you serious? The demon boss detected for this raid should be an SSSR rank and as such you couldn't have defeated it alone. That's why we rushed as soon as we got the news." Ash Gold said.
James stared at Ash Gold and Tashida. It was then his brain reassessed them. Then he remembered why he was unconscious. The horror of the face of the woman he had killed flashed in his memory. He freaked out in fear.
"What is the matter, James?" Aaron asked a bit concerned. James stared at him. His brain replayed Ash Gold's words few moments ago and his eyes widened in shock.
"What do you mean by coming as soon as you learnt of it? Do you know how long it took..." James paused as he noticed it was day. The rain was washing off his blood slowly. Ash Gold turned to him. He noticed his innocent gaze.
"Sorry James but we understand your shock. We didn't send any form of message to your Guild." Ash Gold said. James's eyes widened in shock and fury.
What did they mean? How was it even possible? Zohn had told him that they sent a message. Everyone had agreed to his words. We're they trying to insuate that they gave no orders? That the souls that were lost at the early hours of the attack was all for nothing?!– James thought and his heart throbbed hard.
He clenched his fists and his eyes glinted with fury. Aaron stared at him surprised. He knew he was just provoked by Ash Gold's statement but he knew he couldn't talk him out of it. Ash Gold stared at James who was boiling in anger. He wondered why James was visibly shaking.
James jumped and released a hard punch at Ash Gold but Ash Gold caught his weak arm. James roared in anger and slammed his head against Ash Gold's head but he was dazzled for a moment. Ash Gold pushed him down to scratch against the ground. Aaron stared in shock while Tashida grinned in disgust.
Blood spouted from James's head. He sat up and it was then that everyone saw his tears. He began to sob emotionally and uncontrollably. Tashida stared in shock.
Was he actually crying? Damn! He had hardly seen a man cry in public. This wasn't public though but at least he expected him not get emotional in the open streets. Tashida exhaled lightly.
"Our inhabitants died because of those orders. We lost a good number of humans because of your incompetence. I just lost a dear friend of mine because of that single mistake. That single mistake of yours cost lives..." James said in between sobs.
He stopped crying suddenly. "...and more loves will be lost. Because I am going to kill a lot to get to the person behind this."
Everyone stared at him. Aaron knew what James had meant. The memory of Maczed and Marie hit him instantly. He closed his eyes in pain and exhaled. Then he walked over to James . Tashida scowled lightly.
"I can't believe this." Tashida murmured to himself.
"He has natural love for humanity. Are you sure of his records of criminality?" Ash Gold asked Tashida. Tashida grinned widely.
"He's a criminal and you know that. I can't be fooled by his emotional outplay." Tashida grumbled.
"Maybe he was before but now I can't tell. Anyway we still have to take him to the Central Guild." Ash Gold said and stared at James. Ash Gold then walked to him.
"James Istellar, you have to come with us to the Central Guild." Ash Gold said and stretched out his hands. James gasped in shock. Why was this single soul causing trauma? They could easily forget about this and let him wallow in his pain and mystery.
Suddenly a car pulled up at the spot. Tashida grinned lightly. Ash Gold looked at James.
"We have to go...now . I promise to protect you." Ash Gold said lightly behind James's ear. Aaron stared in shock as James went into the car with Tashida and Ash Gold.
