A Fisherman's Immortal Journey

Chapter 10: Neutral Karma Value

"Heis...." Ren Wei released an exhausted sigh. "I don't know how they are doing..."

As he was thinking, the fishing line moved.

Without thinking much, he pulled up the rod.

Same as usual, a fish was stuck in the hook.

[Fish: Red Belly Fish.

Grade: Normal.

Details: A mortal fish. Usually eaten by mortals.]

He unhooked the fish and tossed I casually into his fish pot.

Ding!

[Congratulations, first catch of the day.

Reward: 10 mortal gold coins (deposited directly into the storage).]

Ever since he became an Innate Qi Realm expert, he did not need to manually and physically renew the fish bait. By just channelling his Qi to his fishing rod, a bait made up of Qi would appear on the hook.

So, he did just that.

Then, cast the fishing line.

Small ripples appeared on the surface of the calm river.

Bored, he put his on the knee and his hand supported his chin.

With one hand supporting his chin and the other on the fishing rod, Ren Wei day dreamed sitting on his small boat.

Without him realizing, the quickly passed. It went from early morning to noon quickly.

During those time, the fishing line moved several times. But Ren Wei's thought was elsewhere. But from time to time, his eyes would blink.

Splash!...

Suddenly, a loud sound of something heavy falling into the water, snapped him awake from his dream.

The sound was a bit far away but with his enhanced senses, Ren Wei could clearly hear it.

Squinting his eyes and focusing his ear, he waited for a followup to see if anyone is playing throwing rocks into the water. But he didn't hear a followup. And he didn't see anyone went passed him to dump things.

Then, he focused on hearing if anyone is drowning. Surely, a non living would not be able to fall into the water on its own. So it must be a living thing. But he could not hear any sound of struggling. Which could mean one thing, that living thing is in trouble.

He quickly pulled up his fishing rod from the water. With that came a small fish.

[Fish: Silver Snake Fish (young).

Grade: Normal.

Details: A rare delicacy of mortal world. Currently in early phase.]

Ren Wei ignored the details and quickly put it into the fish pot.

Ding!

[Congratulations, second catch of the day.

Reward: A set of nice robe made of rare normal materials.]

He ignored the reward notification and quickly rowed his boat towards the direction he heard the splashing.

He hurriedly used his Qi to make the boat go faster.

Soon, he arrived near the location he heard the sound, just around the corner of the river.

There just few meters away from his boat, he spotted something floating on the river. It was stuck on a side tree branch, stopping it from being carried away by the current.

With his enhanced vision, Ren Wei sound realized that floating thing was a human body with black clothings. And from the looks of it, it was a male. Luckily, he was floating on his back. Otherwise, it would have been to late when Ren Wei arrived.

He hurriedly approached the body and fetched out the body from the river onto his boat.

Surprisingly, as soon as he put down the body on his boat, a notification popped up.

Ding!

When he opened it, he was surprised.

[Congratulations, you have successfully got your 3rd catch of the day.

Reward: Thousand Miles Ice Age (Skill).]

[Skill: Thousand Miles Ice Age.

Grade: 7.

Details: Freeze miles in just seconds. Basically, ice age.

Minimum Requirement: True Qi Realm (Activating just a slight).]

Just because it says thousand miles, doesn't necessarily mean it could freeze thousand miles. Only just dozens of miles only. But being able to freeze dozens of miles is already a great feed.

When he looked at the information, Ren Wei was shocked. He looked back and forth between the floating screen and the body. His eyes contained the confusion he was having at the moment.

To enlighten him, another information arrived at his doorstep.

[Everything you catch from the water is considered fish. Except, for the real fishes, you need to put it into the pot to get the reward.]

"Everything!!?" Seeing the answer of the treasure, Ren Wei felt absurd.

Then, he quickly snapped back to reality. He hurriedly squat down on one knee and reached out his hand to check the body.

With his hand on the wrist and the neck, he quickly checked for a pulse. Fortunately, he felt it. Even though itmwas slightly weak.

He signed in relief and retracted his hand from the body.

After calming down, he checked the body for any injuries or other. Judging from the facial features, it was a young boy. About 15 or 16 years old.

He found no other injuries. And quickly determined the boy must have passed out from exhaustion.

With delaying, he channeled his Qi and passed some energy to the young boy. Until then, he showed some signs of improvement.

After doing that, Ren Wei rowed the boat towards the river bank, carrying both of them.

Then, he carried the body and his shoulder, leaving the river.

On his way back, some people saw the scene of Ren Wei carrying the body of a young man.

Curious, they approached and asked about the situation.

To avoid any misunderstanding, Ren Wei told them the true story with a slight twist.

He told them that he found a body carried down by the river current when he was fishing. And to make sure the person survive, he was bringing the person to the town.

Hearing the situation, some showed sympathy and offered to help but their eyes showed the indifference.

Not wanting to entangle with those people, Ren Wei left with the words not wanting to trouble them.

Soon, he arrived at his own house.

Inside the house, he softly laid down the young man on the bed. And went out of the room.

It was only a matter of time before the young man regain his consciousness. Ren Wei just needed to wait for it to fully understand the situation.

Sitting on the chair at the courtyard, outside his house. Ren Wei waited for the time.

Noon passed and evening came.

Inside the house, on the bed, the young man's eyes twitched. Showing signs of regaining his consciousness.

It didn't take long before the young man slowly opened his eyes.

With slightly disoriented vision, he stayed on the bed looking at the unfamiliar ceiling.

"Didn't I fall into the river? How come I am here? Did someone saved me?" He murmured, asking himself some of the questions he had in his mind.

Soon, he found that his clothes were still the same and they were dry. Indicating that he likely did not fall into the water.

"Did I remember correctly?" He murmured, confused.

Creak....

As he was thinking in confusion, he heard the sound of door opening.

Alert, he quickly sat up on the bed and turned his head to look.

There at the door, he saw a man in simple yet neat clothes, standing. He looked to be in his 30s with little beard. His face was calm and leisurely. But what stood out the most was his emareld blue eyes, giving him the look of a bored deity who can see everything. All in all, he was a somewhat handsome man.

It was Ren Wei. He entered the house as soon as he sensed the sign of him waking up.

Ahem....

Ren Wei coughed a little to broke the silence, when he saw the young man looking without a word.

Hearing the man coughed, the young man snapped. He shook his a little to clear his mind.

Seeing him coming back to his mind, Ren Wei said. "Name?" Just one word of question and no further.

Instead of answering, the young man asked. "Are you the one who saved me?" Knowing full well he must be.

Ren Wei did not respond, just looked at him calmly.

The young man got his answer. His savior is a man of few words but direct.

Clearing his throat, he revealed his name. "Its Ye Yu." After calming down.

'Ye Yu.' Ren Wei thought in his head.

Then, he opened his mouth to ask the reason behind his accident. But as he opened his mouth, he saw something.

At the same time, Ye Yu saw a surprising scene. He saw the eyes of his savior glowing in the dim room, only for a split second. Since it was about to be nighttime, the room was much darker than the outside. So he could easily see the glowing eyes.

At that moment, he knew his savior must be someone extraordinary.

If it were any normal daytime, the glow would be superimposed with the sunlight.

[A rare person with neutral Karma Value spotted.

Fate: Ever changing.]

[Congratulations, you have found one of the rarest thing in the world. A person with no tie to the face also changed to the fate.

Reward: Processing...]

'A person with no fate!?' Ren Wei was shocked. He never even heard of this kind of person. He always believed that everything in this world has a fate predetermined. His believed was solidified with his reincarnation.

Now, there is someone in front of him with no fate.

However, he soon realized something. It was not that the person has no fate. But rather his fate will be determined after encountering something in his life.

Maybe someone like him.

Suppressing all those thoughts in his mind, he spoke. "Now tell me the reason why you were in the river."
