You love me (BETRAYAL)

Chapter 9: You want to be my enemy. (What if I pull the trigger)?.

Beatrice and Hosea exchanged glances upon hearing Mr. Elizur's words. He reiterated that Beatrice and Hosea would now be partners. They would strategize together and execute their plans collaboratively, while Hosea would review all written articles before publication, acting as the final editor for all works submitted to Beatrice. With that, the meeting came to an end.

As Mr. Elizur walked to his office, his son followed him. "Dad, I don't need a partner," he insisted. Just then, Becky, Mr. Elizur's secretary, approached them, hurrying with a list of files in her hand.

"Good morning, sir," she greeted.

"Good morning, Becky," Mr. Elizur replied, then turned to his son. "May I ask why you don't want to work with Beatrice? She would make an excellent partner."

"I'm fine on my own, Dad. I don't need a partner. Besides, having to review all the articles from our editors that will be published, along with running the stock firm, is a lot for one person," Hosea explained.

When they reached the office door, Mr. Elizur stopped and turned to Becky. "What are the benefits of having a partner, Becky?"

She responded, "There are many benefits to having a partner. First, two heads are better than one…"

Hosea interrupted, "Dad, I never said I needed a partner. I'm fine on my own."

Mr. Elizur tapped his son on the shoulder. "At this stage, son, we should be focusing on the stock firm and the IPO launch. You need to concentrate your energy on that. If you don't want to work with anyone and prefer to do things your way, that's fine. Just remember, if the IPO launches tomorrow, you won't have a partner." till the IPO is lunch Beatrice is your partner." After saying this he walks into his office with his secretary, Hosea stares at the door angrily and walks away. Mr Elizur sat on his chair, took a cup of water, and then turned his attention to Becky who had been standing, "so I guess this is above what Benedict wanted to tell me "Yes sir, well the issue is H-shares, sir they are trying to steal our investors. Mr Elizur smiles "In this business Becky, we don't war with our competitors, we act smart and overpower them." Becky is surprised by her boss' calmness, it was like he did not care "But sir… he cut her short "Investors are investors Becky it matter what H-shares are offering, how trusted investors will continue with it, so have no fear. Mr Elizur was a brilliant businessman, he did not just govern his team like a God but he controlled them and programmed them to work excellent, it was like he had some kind of superpower to program the desired characteristics he wanted in a person and this every in his company loved him, ever members of the board sure him as some kind of demigod, no one had any idea of going against his back or turning against him but I Elizur, on the other hand, was steps ahead of everyone, and that's how he had me being on top and even rising More since his first wife mary passed.

After some hours in the office Mr Elizur shot down his system and left the office, Becky was still working he waved to her "Bye bye Becky," she just waved back and continued her work. It was still working hours but Mr. Elizur had the habit of working only when he had the desire to, if not he would just work out of the office and head home. As the driver drove he read the headlines on the news about his company. Elizur reviewed stock exchange companies around the world and noted that his company was ranked second globally. After becoming president following Mary's death, the company was ranked fifth. However, it had risen significantly since then, yet Mr. Elizur was still not satisfied. "Why can't we be ranked number one?" he wondered, smiling to himself. "After this IPO is launched, we will surely be the best worldwide."

Finally, the driver arrived at the iron gate. Elizur dropped his tablet and got out of the car. The security personnel lined up to welcome him as usual. As he walked toward the mansion, a smile graced his face. Upon entering the sitting room, he found Hakeem watching a movie while indulging in a plate of chicken and a bottle of red wine. The room was in chaos, which Elizur detested. Thankfully, a maid was cleaning nearby; she bowed her head as her gaze met Elizur's. "Hi there," he called to her.

Hakeem turned at the sound of his voice. "Clean up the mess you've made," Elizur said sharply. "My sitting room is not a pigsty." Saying this, he walked away without uttering another word to Hakeem. Mr. Elizur headed to his room to change into his loungewear before entering his study. As he sat down, there was a knock on the door.

"Who the hell is that?!" he exclaimed.

"It's Hakeem."

(What does he want again?) Elizur thought to himself. "Come in, the door is not locked." Hakeem entered the room wearing an angry expression. Elizur adjusted his seat and turned to him. "What do you want this time, Hakeem?"

Hakeem marched straight to the front of the room. "You've forgotten about me, Elizur. You left me behind the moment your sister passed away and you took control of her empire. You didn't even give me a share of her company..."

Mr. Elizur cut him off. "Don't you ever bring up Mary. You are nothing like her. Without me, the stock firm would be in ruins, but thanks to me, we are on top. We are about to go public. I know what you want, Hakeem; it's cash, isn't it? Well, stop being sentimental and get to the point. I'm a busy man. Just know this: I'm not giving you a penny. If you want a million, you'll have to work for it."

Hakeem smiled. "No, I don't want a million, Elizur. I need five hundred million to be paid to me every month, starting now."

Mr. Elizur burst into deep laughter. "Ha! You see, I won't even give you a thousand. I just wanted to see your reaction, which is why I mentioned a million."

Hakeem moved closer to him. "Oh, you think it's funny? You think I'm a joke, which is why you're laughing?" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a rival gun, aiming it at Elizur. "I know what you did, Elizur twelve years ago. The two reporters—you ran them over. You have blood on your hands."

Mr. Elizur's gaze suddenly turned dark and menacing. "What if I tell the world who you are? I don't think you want to be my enemy." He smiled. "Or what if I pull the trigger?"
