Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Another One Eliminated
Chapter 93: Another One Eliminated
Chojuro and Ranmaru stood side by side.
One of them looked timid, his eyes darting around nervously, while the other was simply a child. Across from them stood Ino, covered in blood, exuding an aura of a formidable villain.
Chojuro didn't think it was necessary for them to fight the Konoha ninja to the death.
On his side, their combat power was intact, while the opponent was injured. Wasn't the outcome obvious?
He shouted from a distance, "Hey, you... you're already injured. Just give up! Really, I'm saying this out of kindness. You can't beat us!"
Ino glanced at him. The future Sixth Mizukage was even less confident than she had imagined!
She sneered, "Can't beat you? I still have plenty of jutsu I haven't used yet! Earlier, the three of you ganged up on me. How glorious is that? Sure, getting injured is my fault, but I never expected Kirigakure to have a way to get all three of you through the genjutsu maze. Don't you think that's just despicable? As one of the Five Great Ninja Villages, resorting to such underhanded tactics don't you feel any shame?"
While secretly taking medicine to heal her wounds and prepare for the next round of fighting, she continued to vent her frustration. Damn it, her palm had been pierced! It hurt like hell!
Her words had no effect on Ranmaru. Kirigakure? A month ago, Ranmaru had been working as a bandit, a promising career in his eyes. He had no real connection to Kirigakure.
Chojuro, however, was overwhelmed with guilt.
This test was indeed unfair to Konoha. Kirigakure had been scheming left and right, and even with three against one, they had still lost one member to severe injuries. It was utterly humiliating.
Being called out like this, Chojuro felt too ashamed to retort. The mustached man, too, felt the disgrace.
The mustached man didn't show himself but stood invisibly in the air, scolding, "Exactly! Even I feel embarrassed for you juniors! Did Kirigakure become one of the Five Great Ninja Villages by relying on tricks and deceit? You've disgraced our ancestors!"
Ino pointed at Chojuro, "The ones who should give up are you! Earlier, I had to face two opponents. Now, I only need to deal with you!"
Chojuro was drenched in sweat from the verbal onslaught and instinctively took a step back. Their own Mizukage was so gentle compared to this Konoha kunoichi. She was scarier than a tiger!
However, there was no way he would admit defeat.
As the hope of his village, he absolutely could not lose!
He whispered to Ranmaru, discussing tactics.
As she had mentioned to Shikamaru earlier, Ino really had no good way to deal with Ranmaru's Red Eye.
X-ray vision, sensory abilities, chakra-generated illusions, visual interference the Red Eye had many functions. Combined with Haku's Ice Release, Chojuro's Water Release, and close-combat skills, this hastily assembled trio was incredibly powerful!
Ino had traded injuries to eliminate Haku, but facing the remaining two, the pressure was still immense.
After venting her frustration verbally, she felt much better and decided to strike first.
Chakra was universal. While the Red Eye could obscure vision, it couldn't block chakra.
"Water Style: Great Water Collision Wave!"
"Water Style: Great Water Collision Wave!"
"Water Style: Great Water Collision Wave!"
Ino and her two shadow clones unleashed three Great Water Collision Waves in succession.
A tidal wave of water flooded the entire area! Above, below, left, right, front, back everything was submerged.
The space created by the "Mirage" genjutsu seemed boundless, but in reality, it had limits.
The three Great Water Collision Waves consumed over half of Ino's chakra! The waves completely flooded the area!
Ino moved through the water with ease, like a fish. Chojuro was similarly adept, but Ranmaru was not.
He was a fake Kirigakure ninja and had never trained in Water Release.
A single massive wave swept him underwater.
What could an eight-year-old child do in such a situation?
Chojuro wanted to save him, but Ino manipulated the currents, forcibly pushing Chojuro away. The two struggled for control of the water using their Water Release techniques.
Ranmaru, meanwhile, swallowed several mouthfuls of water, his breathing growing weaker. The mustached man, watching from the sidelines, sent him out of the maze.
Another member of the Kirigakure trio had been eliminated.
"Clap, clap, clap." The mustached man still didn't reveal himself but applauded Ino's use of the Great Water Collision Wave.
The timing, scale, and purpose of the jutsu were all impeccable.
Ino's mind was sharp. She knew who posed the greatest threat and didn't hesitate to expend a large amount of chakra to eliminate Ranmaru. In the mustached man's eyes, this decisive move was truly impressive.
As the water receded, Ino stood on the surface, panting heavily as she looked at Chojuro. "Hey, it's just the two of us now! Let's settle this!"
Ino didn't believe that three Great Water Collision Waves would be enough to defeat the future Sixth Mizukage. By using a signature jutsu of his village, she wanted to see how he would react.
Her jutsu, combined with the mustached man's applause, had provoked Chojuro.
The bespectacled boy gripped Hiramekarei tightly, stepped onto the waves, and charged forward with a roar.
The mustached man nodded in approval from the shadows. This boy still had some fighting spirit.
Whether he could win or not was another matter, but at least he wasn't backing down!
With his two teammates gone and Ino unable to maintain her shadow clones, let alone have them use jutsu, the two were now truly in a one-on-one duel.
When they were ten meters apart, Ino spat out a thin line of water.
It was the Second Hokage's signature Water Release technique Water Style: Water Severing Wave!
The silver-white water line was incredibly fast and had a wide attack range. Chojuro knew he couldn't block it directly, so he dodged left and right, wielding Hiramekarei. Several times, he entered the sword's attack range, but each time, the Water Severing Wave forced him back.
He lacked Haku's willingness to disregard his own life and trade blows with the enemy.
While his talent was among the highest in his generation in Kirigakure, the village's isolation had left him without opportunities to interact with the outside world. Unlike Ino, who constantly refined her tactics, Chojuro was caught off guard by the Water Severing Wave, exposing his lack of combat experience.
As he dodged, he racked his brain for information.
The Water Severing Wave was the Second Hokage's Water Release technique. It was powerful and fast, but did it have any weaknesses?
While he was still thinking, Ino suddenly threw a kunai with an explosive tag attached, shouting, "Take this Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags!"
Chojuro was startled.
The Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags were famous throughout the ninja world. They had killed many Kirigakure jonin in the past, and even he had read about them in books. He didn't know the exact mechanics, but he knew it was a technique that caused endless explosions.
Ino's use of the Water Severing Wave, combined with Kirigakure's intensive training, led him to misjudge the situation. He assumed Ino had received the same level of training in Konoha as he had in Kirigakure.
If she knew the Water Severing Wave, then she must also know the Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags!
Without a second thought, he swung his sword from a distance, aiming to destroy the kunai before it could activate!
