Who is Playing the Love Development Game in Gundam

Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Urged by Councilor Zala

That night, as He Kui left the Clyne residence, he breathed a sigh of relief. There was no doubt that this young lady seemed to have some kind of formidable magic — in her presence, every secret felt like it could be laid bare. He wasn't even sure if he had managed to keep things from her entirely.

But for now, it seemed fine.

A dangerous girl, yet one who made things…interesting. He Kui cast one last look at the luxurious estate before returning to his vehicle.

"He Kui, where have you been?!"

As soon as he got back in his car,Meyrin's call came through, with a tone that was both playful and exasperated.

Hearing her voice, he finally understood why having a female assistant was so popular. Even when being reminded about work, her sweet voice made it all a bit easier to handle.

He Kui knew exactly why Meyrin was calling; actually, she had already sent him numerous emails earlier. It had been a few days since he last submitted a report on the new mobile suit development, and the Defense Committee had been pressing him relentlessly — particularly Councilor Zala.

"I'm on my way back. I'll have the report ready by tomorrow."

He Kui smiled.

"Good! Don't forget — I've already set up the template for you, so hurry up!"

"I know."

Once they became familiar, Meyrin's personality turned out to be lively and outgoing, quite different from her initial quiet and shy demeanor.

After their call, He Kui dedicated himself to completing the new Gundam's frame structure over the next few days. Although he wasn't sure how closely it matched the original, the frame's strength held up without issue under computer testing, and the modular design drew inspiration from the recently acquired new Strike model. Everything was on track.

In short, this frame could be considered his very first personally designed Gundam.

He Kui quickly compiled his design and sent it to Councilor Zala. The reply arrived soon after:

"Assembly has begun. Return to May City to initiate frame strength testing immediately."

Looking at Zala's curt and efficient message, He Kui could only respond with a resigned "Received." It seemed that the Defense Committee was indeed eager to expedite the new model's development. Who knew if this war would even end as planned?

While he did have his own objectives, his involvement had also undoubtedly complicated the original course of events, making this war far messier than it was meant to be. And the key players who could turn the tide were still nowhere to be found.

Kira, the Archangel — where had they gone?

He Kui gazed out at the vast expanse of space, teeming with PLANT colonies.

The Clyne Faction, Zala, the elusive Archangel, and Kira…

There were still many unresolved issues. But at least he now had more means of protection.

Steeling his resolve, He Kui left to find Shi He and Su Lei, who were still on the asteroid base.

Since his recent idea to bring the two of them closer together, their relationship had notably improved. Right now, they were side by side, engrossed in studying a recipe.

Watching the two women, He Kui felt a touch of envy. When he had been a Deputy Director, there had been no such leisure time. Or rather, he had never been able to take any time off at all.

Chuckling, He Kui quietly approached them from behind.

Smack!

Smack!

Two crisp sounds as He Kui's hand made swift contact with their soft, bouncy backsides.

"Ah!"

The yelp came from Su Lei, while Shi He, who clearly had sensed his approach, only gave him a playful, coquettish look.

"Shouldn't you be heading back to May City~?" Shi He asked.

"I'll leave right after dinner."

"So soon?"

"I need to focus on the new model. Testing the frame's strength won't be efficient if I'm doing it remotely."

"Then I'll come back too. I can help with the radar systems," Shi He offered.

"Me too," added Su Lei.

"Alright."

He Kui had not planned to leave them here anyway. After all, he still needed them for Zeta Gundam's development. With the war's timeline uncertain, it was crucial to be as prepared as possible.

The next day, as he inspected the fully assembled frame in front of him, He Kui was again struck by the remarkable efficiency of ZAFT. They had managed to complete the frame within a single night.

"Director He Kui! Good to see you!"

It was Yuki, the Deputy Director from the Clark Design Bureau, who was looking at him with an enthusiasm that made He Kui instinctively step back a bit.

"Director Yuki, how's the progress?"

Yuki's design bureau wasn't originally located in Sector One, but they had relocated because of the new mobile suit project. Standing there eagerly was the former head of Clark, now working under him as the Deputy Director.

"After running the data validation last night, we managed to produce most of the frame with about 90% completion. There are just a few precision nano-components that still need manual assembly."

"I'll handle those."

Yuki looked taken aback. "But…our team is already working on it."

"I can finish faster."

"Well…"

Yuki appeared conflicted, reluctant to discourage the talented young Director. After all, his people were highly skilled, many of them veteran technicians with years of experience at the highest proficiency levels. He Kui's work in developing the Magic Crab had earned him considerable respect, but not everyone was willing to acknowledge his authority automatically.

With some uncertainty, Yuki exchanged glances with the lead technician. Finally, the technician bowed slightly toward He Kui.

"We appreciate your guidance, Director."

Thinking that He Kui had only come to oversee the process, the technician maintained a polite, if somewhat skeptical, expression.

"No need for thanks. Let's just get to work."

"Understood."

Moments later, silence fell as He Kui immersed himself in the task. Soon, the technicians began noticing something remarkable: He Kui was assembling components faster than all of them combined, and his precision was flawless.

In just two hours, He Kui had completed everything on his own.

"All done. Let's proceed with the installation."

The technicians around him were left in awe. Their expressions were full of respect and admiration.

"Of course!"

Seeing He Kui work had a profound impact on them. In PLANT, only a handful of experts had reached his level — and even fewer in the field of mobile suit development. If they could establish a connection with someone as skilled as He Kui, their careers would u

ndoubtedly soar.

With a subtle sense of triumph, the technician and his team looked at He Kui with newfound reverence.
