WHAT A TWIST!

Chapter 98: Chapter 98;DISAPOINTMENT

Chapter 98

The final bell tolled, its familiar chime echoing through the corridors as the school day drew to a close. Students poured out of the classrooms, their footsteps thundering down the hallways as they made their way to their dormitories. I emerged from my own classroom, the rush of students swirling around me like a tide. I pulled out my phone and sent a message to Racy, my fingers flying across the screen. Her response came a moment later, informing me that she was still stuck in class, trying to collect something from someone before heading back to the dorm.

I smiled to myself as I typed out a reply. "Hey, meet me at my room," I messaged. "Let's head to the market later to grab ingredients for the thank you dinner."

It was still early afternoon, the sun casting a warm glow over the campus,Tonight, I and racy would be preparing a meal as a small token of gratitude for hyun min's tutoring, and I couldn't wait to get shopping for the ingredients.

I made my way back to my room, the familiar surroundings a welcome respite after a long morning of classes. I decided to freshen up with a shower, feeling the warm water wash away the fatigue of the day. Before long, Racy arrived, and we decided to head down to the cafeteria for lunch. The aroma of food wafted through the air, tantalizing our taste buds as we joined the queue. We chatted and laughed, enjoying each other's company as we waited for our turn to be served.

As we walked out the school, I filled Racy in on the day's events, my words spilling out in a rush. She listened intently, her eyes growing wider with surprise as I recounted the encounter with the guys who had attacked us the day before. "You had no idea what went down today, did you?" I asked, and she shook her head, her curiosity piqued.

I took a deep breath and launched into the story, telling her how the guys had almost attacked me again, but this time, someone had stepped in. Racy's eyes grew wide with concern as she listened, and when I mentioned the attack, she gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. "Oh my god, are you seriously okay?" she asked, her voice laced with worry, as she quickly scanned me for any signs of injury. She checked my hands, my head, her eyes scanning every inch of me.

I smiled reassuringly, trying to calm her down. "I'm totally fine, Racy," I said, my voice soft and soothing. But then, I leaned in, a mischievous glint in my eye. "Want to know who my hero was?" I whispered, my voice barely audible over the sound of the traffic.

Racy's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Who?" she asked, her voice full of anticipation. I smiled, pausing for dramatic effect. "Guess." I said, my voice low and conspiratorial.

Racy turned thoughtful "a teacher." she asked, her voice full of skepticism, and I shook my head, a smile still playing on my lips.

Racy's expression changed from skepticism to shock, her eyes wide with amazement. "No freaking way," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper.

I laughed and nodded, then I turned thoughtful expression on my face. "How did he even find me in the first place?" I mused, my voice barely above a whisper. Racy's eyes met mine, and she raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the question.

I shrugged, answering my question, a small smile playing on my lips. "Well, probably he was just passing by," I said, my tone casual. Then racy frowned"I'm jealous, I'm jealous. Who's going to love me now?"

"You know, when I first met him, he was just a jerk,I've told you this before, but it's crazy how things have turned out. This is a big twist, because I wasn't expecting to fall this hard for him."

"I want to see him," racy said, her voice barely audible over the hum of the engine. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, her lips curling into a sly smile. "And I won't mind snatching him from you," she said, her voice laced with playful malice. I shot her a mock-glare, laughing despite myself. "You will do no such thing!" I retorted, and Racy's laughter erupted, infectious and joyful.

****The supermarket loomed before us, its air-conditioned interior a welcoming respite. As we stepped inside, I felt a sense of wonder wash over me. The rows of shelves stretched, The hum of conversation filled the air, a gentle murmur that underscored the sense of community. Racy moved with purpose, her cart gliding smoothly as she navigated the aisles. I followed behind her, my eyes drinking in the sights and sounds of the super market. Everything was written in Korean, the characters dancing across the packaging like a secret code.

The supermarket was a sensory feast, the smell of fresh produce and the sound of beeps from the cash registers combining to create a symphony of experience.

The sudden buzz of my phone shattered the serenity of the moment, and I instinctively reached for it, my pulse racing with anticipation.

As I gazed at the screen, my eyes widened in utter dismay. "I won't be able to initiate the tutoring today as planned. I'm also afraid I won't be able to join you for dinner..." The words blurred together on the screen, but the message was crystal clear.

My heart plummeted, feeling like it had been yanked down into the darkest depths of my stomach. A tangled web of emotions ensnared me - seething disappointment.

I stood there, frozen in the aisle, my eyes riveted to the phone screen as if willing the words to magically transform into something else.

Racy strolled up to me, her cart already filled with a few essentials, and asked, "Are you okay?" I swiftly tucked my phone into my pocket and forced a smile, trying to brush off my concerns. "Yeah, sure!" I replied, attempting to sound convincing as I joined her in shopping, though my mind was elsewhere.
