Chapter 126: Chapter 126;A MOTHER'S CLAIM
Chapter 126
As Soo-young leapt out of the Ferrari, her eyes scanned the chaotic scene before her. The taxi's crumpled body, the scattered glass, and the groaning form of Hyun-min all blended together in a jarring tableau. Without hesitation, she pulled out her phone and dialed the emergency number, her voice urgent as she relayed the situation to the operator. "Please, hurry! There's been an accident!"
She rushed towards the taxi, her heels clicking on the asphalt as she approached Hyun-min. His face was contorted in pain, and a crimson stain was spreading across his shirt. Soo-young's heart constricted as she saw the shard of glass lodged in his side, she removed the glass amd hyun min groaned loudly, she quickly removed her scarf, pressing it against the wound to apply pressure.
As she gently guided Hyun-min's head onto her shoulder, she whispered softly, "It's going to be fine, baby. The ambulance will be here soon." Her voice trembled, betraying the fear that gripped her heart. She had been searching for her son for so long, and now, in this moment of crisis, all she could think about was his well-being.
The sounds of the city seemed to fade into the background as Soo-young focused on Hyun-min. She called the ambulance again, her voice laced with desperation. "Where are you? People are dying here!" The words tumbled out of her mouth, a mixture of fear and panic.
As Hyun-min's eyes fluttered closed, Soo-young's emotions overwhelmed her. Tears streamed down her face as she cradled her son in her arms, holding him close as if she could will the pain away. The people around them were recording the scene, their faces a blur of curiosity and concern, but Soo-young didn't notice. All she saw was her son, injured and in pain.
In that moment, everything else faded away – the taxi driver, the Ferrari, the chaos – and all that mattered was Hyun-min. She whispered softly, "My baby, my baby..." The words were a prayer, a plea, and a promise all rolled into one. As she held him close, she knew that she would do anything to keep him safe, to make sure he was okay.
The wail of the ambulance sirens pierced the air, growing louder as the emergency vehicle approached. The taxi driver, still unconscious, was carefully loaded into the ambulance, his body secured to the stretcher. Soo-young's eyes never left Hyun-min's face as he was rolled away.
"Please, save him," she begged the paramedics, her voice cracking with emotion. "You have to save him."
The paramedics nodded reassuringly, their faces set with determination. "We're doing everything we can, ma'am," one of them said.
As the ambulance doors closed, Soo-young quickly got into her Ferrari, starting the engine and following the ambulance closely behind. She kept her eyes fixed on the vehicle, her heart racing with worry. She couldn't lose him now, not after finding him again.
The Ferrari's engine purred smoothly as she tailed the ambulance, her mind racing with thoughts of what might happen next. She would do everything in her power to ensure Hyun-min received the best care possible. She would not let him slip away from her again.
As the ambulance sped through the streets, Soo-young followed closely behind, her eyes fixed on the vehicle ahead. She was determined to be there for her son, no matter what lay ahead.

As Hyun-min was wheeled into the ICU, Soo-young's eyes remained fixed on the doors, her heart racing with every passing moment. The doctors' stern instructions to stay behind did little to calm her frantic mind, which was consumed by worst-case scenarios.
Just then, Madam Ji Hyeon burst into the area, her face etched with worry and urgency. "Where's my son?" she demanded, her voice laced with panic and desperation.
Soo-young's gaze locked onto Madam Ji Hyeon's, and the two women exchanged a charged, almost hostile glance. Madam Ji Hyeon's expression transformed from worry to shock as she took in Soo-young's presence.
"What are you doing here?" Madam Ji Hyeon asked, her voice tinged with incredulity and disdain.
Soo-young's response was swift and direct, her voice firm and resolute. "Don't waste time on pointless questions," she said, her tone unwavering. "My son's life is in danger, and I won't be deterred."
The air was electric with tension as the two women stood face-to-face, their words hanging like a challenge between them. The silence that followed was oppressive, each woman waiting for the other to back down.
But Soo-young's determination remained unwavering, her eyes flashing with a fierce maternal instinct. "You can't deny the truth," she said, her voice rising in emotion. "I gave birth to him. He's my flesh and blood. My son."
Madam Ji Hyeon's expression darkened, her voice cold and detached. "You're not his mother," she spat, her words cutting through the air like a knife. "You gave him up. You have no right to claim him now."
Soo-young's face contorted with emotion, her voice trembling with desperation. "Biology doesn't lie," she insisted. "He's my son. My blood runs through his veins. And I'll fight for him, no matter what it takes."
The tension between the two women was palpable, the air thick with unspoken emotions and unresolved conflicts.
After an interminable wait, the doctor finally emerged from the ICU, and Soo-young and Madam Ji Hyeon hastened towards him, their faces etched with deep concern. The doctor's expression was a mixture of confusion and concern as he asked, "Who is the guardian?"
Both women responded in unison, their voices overlapping in a tense harmony. "Me!" The doctor's confusion intensified, his brow furrowed in puzzlement. "I don't understand. Does he have two mothers? Who is the actual guardian?"
Soo-young stepped forward, her voice clear and resolute. "She raised him," she said, her gaze fixed on Madam Ji Hyeon. "But I gave birth to him. That's a fact that can't be disputed."
The doctor's expression was perplexed for a moment before he composed himself. "Alright, let's focus on his recovery for now. I'll brief both of you on his condition. He's out of immediate danger, and fortunately, the glass shards didn't cause any critical damage. However, he suffered significant blood loss and is currently weak. We've managed to stabilize him, and with proper care, he should make a full recovery. He's still unconscious, though."
Soo-young and Madam Ji Hyeon exhaled simultaneously, a wave of relief washing over their faces. "May we see him now?" Soo-young asked, her voice laced with a deep-seated desperation.
The doctor nodded sympathetically. "Of course, but please keep in mind that he's still unconscious and won't be able to respond."
As the doctor led them to Hyun-min's room, Soo-young's emotions were palpable. Once they were alone with their son, Soo-young turned to Madam Ji Hyeon, her voice firm and resolute. "It's time to settle this once and for all. I'll consult with a lawyer, and we'll resolve this in court. He's my son, and I won't be denied my rights as his mother."
Madam Ji Hyeon's expression turned icy, her voice dripping with disdain. "You think you can just waltz in here after nineteen years and claim him? I raised him, fed him, nurtured him. Where were you when he needed you?"
