Chapter 112: Chapter 112;DANCE OF WORDS
Chapter 112
Hyun Min's face was a mask of granite as he crossed his arms, his eyes narrowing into slits. "You should know better than to ask," he said, his voice low and unforgiving.
ChuChu's eyes blazed with a mix of desperation and resentment. "Is it because of her?" she demanded, her voice dripping with venom. "The precious Sarah, who you've suddenly decided to lavish with attention?"
Hyun Min's gaze snapped towards her, his expression unyielding. "You will refer to her with respect," he bit out, his tone icy.
ChuChu's gaze faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. Her voice took on a plaintive tone as she stepped closer to him. "Just one hug, Oppa... please. I want to feel your warmth, to smell the scent of your skin one last time." Her eyes locked onto his, pleading and desperate.
As she spoke, her gaze darted towards the hallway, her voice dropping to a whisper. "We're alone, Oppa. Your precious Sarah isn't here to witness this. No one will ever know."
Hyun Min's expression remained impassive, his eyes glinting with a cold, hard light. "You're not listening, ChuChu," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. "This isn't about whether or not someone is watching. It's about boundaries. And you need to respect them."
The silence between them was oppressive, weighing heavily on ChuChu's shoulders like a physical presence.
As Hyun Min attempted to close the door, Chuchu swiftly placed her leg to stop the door from closing, her eyes blazing with a mix of desperation and insecurity. "Why her?" she demanded, her voice laced with a hint of possessiveness. "Am I not prettier than her?" she taunted.
Hyun Min's expression turned wry, and he chuckled, the sound low and mocking. "I think it's high time you realized that being pretty isn't everything," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "You can be stunningly beautiful and still have a terrible attitude."
Chuchu's face fell, her smile faltering as she swallowed hard, rendered speechless by Hyun Min's words. For a moment, she seemed to shrink into herself, her eyes wide with a dawning realization. She had never considered that her attitude might be the problem, that her friends might have left her because of her behavior, not despite her looks.
As the truth sank in, ChuChu's eyes dropped, and she felt a wave of shame wash over her. She wanted to protest, to defend herself, but Hyun Min didn't give her the chance. With a swift motion, he banged the door on her. The sound of the door slamming shut was like a rebuke, leaving ChuChu standing alone in the hallway.
"Oppa!" she called out, her voice barely above a whisper, but there was no response. With a heavy heart, she turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing through the empty hallway like a symbol of her own isolation.
**Sarah pov**
As I stood there, eavesdropping on the conversation between Hyun Min and ChuChu, I couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration for the way he handled the situation. His words were laced with a quiet confidence, a sense of conviction that was both captivating and intimidating. I had expected him to cave to her emotional pleas, but instead, he stood firm, his resolve unwavering.
My heart skipped a beat as I stepped out of my hiding place and approached his door. I raised my hand to knock. My palms were slick with sweat, and I discreetly wiped them on my clothes before making contact with the door. The sound of my knock echoed through the hallway, and I felt a flutter in my chest as I waited for a response.
Hyun Min's voice growled from the other side of the door, "I think it's high time you...", his tone sharp with annoyance. I realized he must have thought it was ChuChu again, and a small part of me felt a pang of satisfaction knowing I had caught him off guard.
The door swung open, and our eyes met, his expression morphing from stern to surprised in an instant. His hair was charmingly disheveled, and my gaze was drawn to the way it curled slightly at the nape of his neck.
"Were you expecting someone?" I asked, feigning innocence, my voice light and playful. Hyun Min's eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze probing, before he shook his head. "No," he replied, his voice a little rough around the edges.
As he stepped aside, opening the door wider for me, a warm smile spread across his face, crinkling the corners of his eyes. "Come in," he said, his voice low and inviting. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I stepped into the warmth of his room, the door closing behind me with a soft click.
As I entered his room, he closed the door behind me, Everything was precisely in its place, and the room was filled with a subtle scent that suited him perfectly. I found myself drawn to the tidiness, and it was clear that he was a neat freak, and, I had to admit, it was a turn-on for me.
"Your hair is a mess" I said, trying to break the tension and bring a smile to his face. Hyun Min chuckled and ran his hand through his hair, attempting to tame the unruly hair. "I was too exhausted to care about my appearance," he said with a charmingly sheepish grin.
He approached me, his eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body. "How did the exam go?" he asked, his voice low and soothing. I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "It was a challenge..but thanks to you,I know I will do well" I replied.
Hyun Min's face lit up with a captivating expression, and he pursed his lips, trying to look stern. "I bombarded you with messages, and you didn't even bother to respond," he said, his voice tinged with playful reproach.
I laughed and apologized, "I'm sorry, I had to abandon my phone in my room." Hyun Min's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, and I felt my heart flutter in response.
His hand reached out to graze my hair, I felt a spark of anticipation. But before his fingers could make contact, I dropped a revelation that brought his movement to an abrupt halt. "I met your mom," I said, the words hanging in the air like a challenge.
Hyun Min's eyes snapped to mine, his gaze piercing and intense. He stared at me as if I had just unleashed a storm into his world, his expression a mix of shock, curiosity, and a hint of wariness.
"She threatened me to leave you," I added, the words spilling out like a confession. Hyun Min's face went blank, his features smoothing out into a mask of neutrality. But I could sense the turmoil brewing beneath the surface, the emotions churning and swirling like a maelstrom.
His voice was low and measured when he spoke, "When did this happen?" I replied, my voice steady, "This morning." Hyun Min's gaze never wavered, his eyes boring into mine as if searching for answers to questions he hadn't yet asked. The silence that followed was oppressive, heavy with unspoken words and unresolved tension.
