Chapter 50: 49. Acceptance
"Where did Jayden take those two kids?" Wendy asked being curious about the whereabouts of other people.
It's been three months since they had this vacation on the rest house and the Reyes Empire lay low.
"Hmm they are on a mission. Anyway what type of food do you want so the chef can prepare it?" Zade asked as Wendy smiled.
"Anything is fine babe," she answered. "How about jeweleries? Designer clothes?" He asked again.
"Zade..." She called with a warning tone since he's being persistent.
Wendy stood by the large window of their rest house, gazing out at the serene view of the rolling hills bathed in the soft afternoon light. The gentle breeze flowed through the open doors, carrying the scent of pine and earth.
Her husband entered the room, holding a small box. "I got something for you," he said, smiling as he approached her. He held out the box, the shine of the sleek packaging hinting at something extravagant inside.
Wendy glanced at it and then at him, her expression soft but uncertain. "What's this?"
"Open it," he urged, stepping closer. She hesitated before undoing the ribbon and lifting the lid to reveal a stunning diamond bracelet, delicate and undoubtedly expensive.
Her breath caught for a moment, but then she closed the box with a quiet snap. "It's beautiful," she whispered, looking up at him. "But I don't need this."
He blinked, a little taken aback. "Wendy, I know you're not one for expensive things, but I wanted to spoil you as my Wife and the mother of my children. You deserve something nice, something special."
She smiled gently, setting the box down on the side table. "I know you mean well. But being here, with you, in this quiet place, that's what makes me feel special." She gestured out toward the view.
"This simple life, the time we spend together it's all I've ever wanted. I don't need diamonds or anything fancy to be happy."
Her husband sighed softly, a mixture of understanding and affection crossing his face. He stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her waist. "You always know how to bring me back to what really matters," he murmured.
Wendy leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder as they both looked out at the peaceful landscape. "We already have everything we need, right here." She said looking at the twins.
"Do you wish to have a normal life?" Zade asked as Wendy smiled. "When we got separated for two months I had a simple life with Jayden but that simple life is sad since your not there with me." Wendy said.
"I'm sorry, If I could just come earlier then anything like that won't happened at all." He said as Wendy smiled.
"To be honest I was scared back then. Not for myself but for our children. I was gotten used on being kidnapped since it's been happening a lot lately yet I'm scared for our children to experience such horrible things in the future." She said looking back at those horrible times.
"As a mother, I want nothing more but the best of my children. I'm in trusting our lives on you." Wendy added looking at Zade.
"Your more mature than me." Zade said as he hugged Wendy from behind when a car arrived.
The immediately meet the guest as Jasmin smiled.
"Welcome home Jasmin, How was Los Angeles?" Wendy said as Jasmin smiled. "It's fine, School was also great." She added and since they had a school break she decided to go home and spend it with his brother.
She was sent to study abroad so that she can focus with her school and normal life. She agreed as she was companied by two nannies and a bodyguard not counting the hidden guards that Aaron assigned in case for emergencies.
Jasmin Zedrich Lee carried herself with the elegance of someone born to grace. Every movement she made was deliberate, smooth, and measured, as though she glided rather than walked.
Her posture was impeccable shoulders back, head held high, and her gaze always composed, exuding quiet confidence.
Her sophisticated aura was undeniable, the kind that drew attention without demanding it.
She had a natural poise, the kind that made people second-guess their every action in her presence, fearing to disrupt the air of refinement she brought with her.
From the way she spoke, each word carefully enunciated and thoughtfully chosen, to her taste in fashion, everything about her was tailored, polished, and effortlessly chic.
Jasmin's style was minimalist, yet luxurious, favoring timeless pieces over trends. She wore jewelry sparingly but with purpose, each accessory a subtle accent that enhanced her overall grace rather than overpowering it.
Her skin always seemed to glow, as if it reflected the calm and control she had over her surroundings.
There was an understated power in her demeanor, the kind that came not from loud authority but from the silent assurance of someone who knows her worth and the effect she has on others.
In any room she entered, people instinctively adjusted themselves, as though her presence alone elevated the standards. Sophistication wasn't just an attribute of Jasmin Zedrich Lee, it was her essence, radiating effortlessly from the inside out.
She's planning to be a doctor and she's the future private doctor of the Reyes Empire.
"Where's my brother?" Jasmin asked since they barely had any communication as Wendy tap her shoulder.
"He's with Knight and Target roleplaying a perfect family." She said as Jasmin smiled. "Can't I see him for awhile?" She asked as Wendy looked sad by her request.
"Can she Zade?" She asked Zade as the twins are all around her. "I guess she can visit him on the office if she really want to talk to him." Zade said as he looked at Aaron as Aaron nodded.
Jayden worked at Zade's company as a marketing manager. His wife died after giving birth to target and now they are living in a condominium specialized by Aaron where they can hide their weapons with a click of a button.
"I hope my brother would say yes about this." Jasmin said since it's been months since the last time they saw each other.
She barely had enough conversation with him since Jayden is busy with the mission itself.
Wendy helped Jasmin on her room. "Do you think my brother still hates me?" She asked as Wendy smiled.
"He don't, he just want to protect you.". Wendy said as the twins are on Zade while he's working with Aaron.
"Are you really sure boss on letting Jasmin see Jayden?" Aaron asked as he played with Zachary.
"Yes I am indeed sure." He answered while Zackeeyah played with his pen.
"Boss, Didn't you reconsider the convenience to hire a nanny?" Aaron asked as he looked at Zade smiling. "I told Wendy about it yet she shrugged the idea off. She's more cautious about the safety of the twins that's why she wants us to take care of them." Zade said as Aaron sigh.
"I'll try to find a suitable one so she can just looked through it. If she agreed then our work load will be sufficient." Aaron said as Zade smiled.
"If she agrees, that's the question." Zade said knowing Wendy who is stubborn. "She will as long as the reasoning is proper. Don't you want a alone time with your Wife?" Aaron asked as Zade thought about it.
"Find someone suitable for the job then." Zade said as Aaron bow down his head.
In the office Jasmin met Jayden as she immediately hugged him. "How's Los Angeles Jasmin?" Jayden asked as Jasmin smiled as she starts crying.
"I'm sorry I just missed you a lot brother." She said as Jayden nodded. "I know I missed you too." He said as they starts to talk about tons of stuffs that they missed together while they're away from each other.
Wendy smiled looking at the siblings catching up on what they missed together as Aaron stand on her back.
"What is it?" Wendy asked as Aaron gave Wendy a folder full of resume for possible nannies.
"What the hell are you giving to me Aaron, Didn't Zade told you that I don't want anyone to take care of my children?" She asked as Zade come to aid Aaron.
"I think it's time to have someone to take care of our children Wendy. Can you please reconsider it this time?" He begged as Wendy looked at the papers.
"I don't want a normal nanny." Wendy said as Zade and Aaron looked at each other. "I want someone who will die for the sake of my child. Someone who is capable on taking care of them and protecting them at the same time." She added as Aaron smirked and throw the folder he gave in the trash and gave Wendy a new one.
Wendy smirked seeing the papers as Aaron is well prepared to satisfy her wants as a parent.
"I'll accept this nanny." She said as she show them the photo.
