Chapter 49: 48. Auctioned for a cost
"How about my partner Boss, Why should I marry her? Her information is little and I can't barely see her looking interested in guys." Knight said as he looked more into the file yet there is nothing more.
"Her father is the head chief of the police department. He is also close to the President and the Navy." Zade explained.
"That is why her information is very crucial nobody actually know that this girl is his daughter." Zade added as Knight nodded.
"Anyways that's all for today, Take some rest and enjoy the Paradise. We will be attending a auction party tomorrow and the both of you will meet them there as Jayden's Son and Daughter." Zade explained as he cannot act like their father or the Police department will be suspicious.
Aaron cannot be their father since he's been known as the Falcon Wings yet the police just can't find any trace of dead people on his way.
So the both of them thought about making Jayden their father and proceed this plan with success. They can just change Jayden's age to forty-five rather than twenty-five so they won't be suspicious about him being their father.
"And lastly the important part on this mission is to never fall in love with them. If you fall kill yourself." Zade said looking at them without any mercy as Knight and Target bow down their heads with a serious tone.
"We won't fail the empire Boss." They both said as Zade left the room as Aaron close the door slowly.
The next day they were going to an legal auction house with Jayden as their father. Jayden looked professional as he is sure everyone here had their eyes on them.
"What do you think?" Jayden asked partaking to his suit as Knight smiled. "You looked great Dad." He said playing the role of a respectful son yet he can't help but feels cringe all over his body since he looked up at Jayden almost as the same age as him.
Target looked around the place thinking of possible way to escape if there is an ambush as Jayden pat her head.
"You looked anxious, there won't be any ambush since this is a legal auction house and lots of guards are guarding outside this building." Jayden reassured as Target sigh and calm her head down.
"Mother I want this big diamond ring for my future wife." A man said as he point at the ring costing nine digit number.
Target looked at him and saw the boy was the same boy in her mission board.
"You can't buy something like that if you still haven't found a wife." His mother said as he glares at her.
Target starts walking towards them as Jayden was about to stop her when she purposely bump into Halix Gregory.
Halix Holds her mother's surname since he never knew who his father was.
"I'm sorry," Target apologize with a cute face that left Jayden and Knight dumbfounded.
'SHE CAN MAKE THAT CUTE FACE?!' they both thought thinking how scary Target is with a poker face now she's acting cute in front of her target.
Halix blushed and hold her hand. "I want to marry this girl mother!" He said as Knight and Jayden's jaw dropped.
"That was fast." Jayden said as he walks towards them. "I'm sorry, Did my daughter interrupt you?" Jayden asked as he sparkles.
"Your way to young to be his father." Mrs. Andrea Gregory said as Jayden smiled. "Indeed I looked young for a man in his mid forties." Jayden lied as Knight came to they're aid.
"This is my son Karl Zedrich Lee and my daughter Tina Zedrich Lee." He introduced as they began talking about business stuffs.
"I'm Andrea Gregory, this is my son Halix Gregory, They were just about the same age as my Halix here huh?" Andrea asked as Jayden agreed.
"Can I borrow her for awhile sir?" Halix asked as Jayden smiled and nodded.
Knight looked pissed as Halix starts flirting with her sister yet he knew that he have someone to flirt with too.
Head chief of the police station coming in with his daughter came in as everyone gather around to pay their respect to him.
Jayden glance the sight of the Head Chief as he was coming on there way to greet Andrea Gregory, The President's daughter.
'Sh*t this is going to be a hard one.' Knight thought to himself as he looked at the Head Chief's daughter.
An old-fashioned teenage girl with an introverted demeanor could have a soft, quiet presence.
She wears a modest dress, perhaps in a vintage style with soft floral patterns or delicate lace, reaching just below her knees. Her hair is neatly tied back, possibly in a simple braid or bun, with a few strands falling loose.
Her face is gentle, with minimal makeup, if any, and her gaze often avoids direct eye contact, preferring to look down or to the side.
She holds a book close to her chest, as if it's her comfort, and her posture is slightly hunched, giving the impression of shyness or a desire to blend into the background.
Her overall appearance radiates a sense of calm and reserve, with a timeless, classic aura.
Knight put up a fake smiled as he tried to introduce himself to her.
"Hi, I'm Karl Zedrich Lee it is nice meeting you. What's your name?" Knight asked as she smiled.
"Chelsea Pheas, nice meeting you too." She said as Knight smiled.
On the other side of the building Halix is showing off his car to Target as if he was saying how rich and influential his family is.
Halix leans back in his chair, his voice smooth and effortlessly confident as he begins talking.
"You know, it's exhausting sometimes, managing properties in five different countries," he says with a slight chuckle, as though it's an everyday annoyance.
"I had to fly in on my private jet last week, and honestly, it's becoming more of a hassle than a luxury. I might just upgrade to something more comfortable. It's crazy how quickly jets get outdated, don't you think?"
He glances at Tina, noticing her quiet attention, and continues. "I've been thinking about taking a break soon maybe to my villa in Santorini. It's nice, but a bit lonely. You know how it is when you've got all these places but never enough time to really enjoy them." His tone is light, almost as if he's oblivious to the impact of his words.
Target is holding on her pissed face as she wanted to slam this guy's face for being cocky and prideful.
"What about you? Ever spent time in the Maldives? My resort there just got a major renovation beaches are great, but the infinity pools... there's nothing like it."
'Tsk! SHOW OFF!' Target shouted to her head.
"I haven't been there." Target answered.
He grins slightly, letting his words linger, fully aware of the subtle power they hold, all while speaking as though these luxuries are second nature to him.
"Ahh the auction is about to start, Let's go inside." He said as he gave Tina a blindfold and earplugs.
"What are these for?" She asked as Halix expression change. "Just incase if you get sick on the show." He said as he wave his goodbye.
They sat down on their respective chairs as the head family are on front with the Head Chief.
The auction house buzzed with a low hum of anticipation, the air thick with wealth and power.
Ornate chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a golden glow over the elegantly dressed crowd.
Rows of chairs were neatly aligned, filled with an eclectic mix of aristocrats, business moguls, and collectors, each holding a sleek paddle with their numbers etched in gold.
At the front, a tall, refined auctioneer stood behind a podium. His polished voice echoed through the room as he tapped the wooden gavel lightly.
A child was being dragged in the front as they execute it's head in front of the buyers as they put it's head on a table like a display.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the finest collection of the evening. We begin the bidding at one million dollars."
Knight and Target were stunned as everyone clapped and was amazed by the art.
The object of desire, a rare head stand, was slowly unveiled from behind a velvet curtain, and murmurs swept through the crowd. Tina, seated near the middle, felt the tension build as eyes shifted toward the prized piece almost vomits on the bloody scene.
'No one would dare buy that!' Knight thought.
Halix sat calmly a few rows back, his hand resting casually on his lap. He had been silent until now, watching the others squirm and sweat. When the first bids were called paddles rising at rapid speed, he remained still, his gaze fixed on the auctioneer.
"One point five million," a voice called out. "Two million," another followed.
'What the hell are these people betting for?!' Target asked.
Without glancing around, Halix finally raised his paddle. "Three million," he said in a smooth, clear voice, as if it were pocket change.
Heads turned, a few whispers spread through the crowd. Tina glanced over her shoulder, her eyes locking briefly with Halix, who gave her a knowing smirk. The auctioneer didn't hesitate. "We have three million from number forty-two. Do I hear four?"
Another bidder, a gray-haired man in the front row, raised his paddle. "Four million."
Halix leaned back, unimpressed. He waited, letting the tension build before raising his paddle once more. "Five."
The room went silent. The other bidders hesitated, as though realizing they were in the presence of someone who wouldn't lose. The auctioneer's eyes flickered across the room. "Five million, going once... going twice..."
The gavel came down with a sharp crack. "Sold!"
Halix lowered his paddle with a satisfied smile, while the others could only watch in silent defeat.
Tina glanced at him again, intrigued by the ease with which he commanded the room. He leaned back, casually victorious, as if winning this auction was just another day in his world of endless wealth.
"Target..." Knight called as she starts gagging.
"I feel sick." She whispered.
