Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Can Saibamen Use Ki?

To outsiders, Russ seemed like nothing but a savage beast, a monster, yet in truth, he was only pretending to be one.

Russ possessed great wisdom.

After Russ had dealt with the Second Primarch, how would the other Primarchs see him?

You didn't need much thought to guess the answer. Even in the 40K era, there was a popular joke:

If the Space Wolves came for you, there might still be a chance to explain yourself, but if the Dark Angels arrived, it meant your days were numbered.

Both the Dark Angels and Space Wolves were the Emperor's chosen hands for dirty, grueling work.

The only difference was that the Dark Angels' missions were usually far dirtier, often amounting to little more than total annihilation.

"What are you talking about? This is a mission the Emperor gave me. My own brothers should be taken down by me," Russ declared.

After the rest of his brothers had gradually returned, Russ realized something, his combat talent seemed a bit superior to theirs, and his physical prowess outstripped them by a small margin as well.

The Emperor had already explained the reason for this: Russ had been baptized by the Ki of Axis, which had strengthened his body considerably.

"This is the Emperor's direct order. Father, your job is to assist me in clearing out the Second Legion. The Second Primarch is mine to defeat," Axis said.

He was not joking.

He even pulled out a mission order personally signed by the Emperor himself.

The reason Axis had been sent here was to ensure the complete and utter destruction of the Second Primarch.

When Russ saw the Emperor's personal signature on that document, his expression changed.

"I understand. You've come a long way, get some rest. Tomorrow, we'll deal with those traitors together.

"Axis, come with me. We haven't seen each other in ages," Russ said, waving his hand.

He ordered a few Space Wolves to escort the Custodians and Kasha away, while he brought Axis to his private quarters.

There were things he needed to talk about with his son.

"My little cub! You cannot take action this time. If the other Primarchs find out you killed one of their brothers, the consequences would be dire," Russ said, looking seriously at Axis.

Axis had a bright future ahead of him.

If word got out that he was the one who killed the Second Primarch, and the other Primarchs learned of it, things would become very difficult for him.

It would be even worse than if Russ himself had done it. As a Primarch, if Russ killed another Primarch, at least he could claim he was acting under the Emperor's orders. The others might not like it, but it wouldn't be a huge issue.

But for Axis, it was different.

He was only a Custodian, not a Primarch. By what right could he stand above the Primarchs?

The Primarchs, after all, were the strongest beings in the entire Imperium, aside from the Emperor himself.

It wasn't that Russ wanted to defy the Emperor's command, rather, he feared that this mission would be too dangerous for Axis, as it would turn all the Primarchs against him.

"But this is the Emperor's order, should I not obey it?" Axis replied with a smile, firing back a question of his own.

It was just like when Frieza gave an order, could the Saiyans ever refuse to obey?

To Axis, the Emperor's command was just like an order from Frieza.

Russ remained silent for a moment, and said in a grim tone.

"I understand. Then you'll be the one to take down the Second Primarch. I'll handle the aftermath for you."

In truth, there was still a way to handle things. This time, Russ could shoulder the blame in a different fashion, diverting the Primarchs' suspicion and hatred onto himself instead of Axis.

This mission was top secret. As long as the Space Wolves didn't leak anything, in theory, no one would know that Axis was the one who killed the Second Primarch.

The Emperor himself might even tell the other Primarchs that the Second simply went missing during the Rangdan War.

But people weren't fools.

Sometimes, a few clues would still be found here and there.

And all those clues would point to Russ.

No one would ever suspect Axis, it would always come back to Russ.

This was his way of protecting Axis.

In fact, Russ even suspected that the reason he had been assigned to this mission was precisely to take the fall for Axis.

It was the Emperor's will!

"Alright, Dad, let's talk about something else. Do you still have my stuff?" Axis asked.

Before leaving Russ, Axis had made sure to entrust him with the Saibaman seeds and King Vegeta's chest, rather than bringing them to Holy Terra.

Those were things he absolutely could not allow to be exposed.

"I've always kept your things close by. Hold on, I'll get them for you," Russ replied, nodding at Axis.

He turned and walked to his cabinet, opened a secure safe, and took out Axis's belongings.

Everything Axis had left behind was always in Russ's personal care. If he was traveling, they were kept in his private quarters aboard the Gloriana-class battleship.

Whenever he returned to Fenris, he kept them in his own room.

Axis nodded, taking the safe from Russ.

Opening it, he saw the Saibaman seeds and King Vegeta's code-locked chest, both perfectly intact.

"Axis, what exactly are these green seeds?" Russ asked, curiosity piqued.

After carrying them around for so long, Russ's psychic senses could easily pick up on the power hidden inside these green seeds.

It was a powerful force, one he had once sensed in Axis himself.

"These are valuable, Dad. They're a type of bio monsters called Saibamen, with extremely high combat power," Axis explained with emphasis on 'extremely'.

Saibamen were incredibly useful.

When elite Saiyan warriors went on missions, they would often take these creatures with them.

As long as you were strong enough, the Saibamen would never disobey your orders, not even if you told them to kill themselves.

"If they really are such terrifying monsters, can you control them?" Leman Russ asked, nodding in understanding after Axis' explanation.

"I couldn't before, but now I can control them perfectly. They're extremely violent and brutal by nature,

"but they'll always submit to a being stronger than themselves. Even if you ordered them to die, they wouldn't hesitate at all," Axis replied.

"They came from the same place as you, right? Can these Saibamen use ki?" Russ stroked his chin, thinking aloud.

Use ki? Axis stared at his father, then looked down at the Saibaman seeds in his hand.

Maybe… just maybe, these guys could use ki, too!

After all, they'd crossed over from the Dragon Ball world just like he had. If Axis had retained his ability to use ki, was it possible the Saibamen had, too?
