Warframe Voidwalker : Multiverse Journey

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Building for the Future

The crisis had passed, peace returned, and everyone prepared to head back to Xavier's School.

Before leaving, Charles asked Erik to erase all the inscribed lines on the pyramid and to take the golden spire with them.

The pyramid's ability to absorb sunlight and convert it into cyan energy was scientifically fascinating and worth studying.

However, after witnessing the battle between Marcus and Apocalypse, Charles had seen firsthand the destructive power of that concentrated energy.

Understanding human nature and the potential threat such power posed to mutants everywhere, he instructed Erik to smooth out the pyramid's markings.

As for the golden spire, beyond its obvious value to fund the school, Charles had another important reason for taking it—he wanted to study its patterns and implement additional security measures at the school.

He needed to prevent similar incidents in the future, where people could be taken without warning, robbed of even the chance to resist.

Back at the school, an excited Erik rushed inside and embraced his wife and daughter tightly, much to the shock of many students watching.

Their surprise wasn't at the family reunion but at seeing Magneto—a man frequently labeled as a terrorist on television—standing before them.

More people entered behind him: Hank in tattered clothes, Logan bare-chested, and others both familiar and unfamiliar to the students.

Most eye-catching was Professor Xavier, now completely bald.

"Professor!" the students called out, greeting him while staring curiously at his smooth head, wondering about his dramatic change in appearance.

Charles took their curiosity in stride, knowing they meant no harm and were simply surprised.

The group made their way through the corridors to Charles's office. He settled into his wheelchair and looked at everyone gathered around him.

"Thank you all for your efforts. Our world is safe once again."

His gaze settled on Marcus. Many present were X-Men who had witnessed Marcus's apparent death in the explosion twenty years ago.

"Although I received news from the future that you were still alive, seeing you again brings genuine joy."

"Yeah, we all thought you were dead," Alex added. "You disappeared with that explosion."

Everyone looked at Marcus with curiosity. They wanted to know where he'd been all these years and why he'd returned now after two decades of absence.

"I'd rather not get into my situation," Marcus said with a dismissive wave and a smile. "It's complicated."

The focus soon shifted to Erik. The once-ruthless mutant now had a happy family, all traces of his former coldness seemingly gone.

Ten years earlier, Erik had nearly killed human leaders in public. If Raven hadn't shot him, the situation for mutants might be even worse now.

Yet here he was, the only one among them with a perfect family—a wife, a daughter, and even a son whose speed was almost impossible to perceive.

Everyone chatted in the office, enjoying this hard-won moment of peace.

Meanwhile, in Cairo, military helicopters flew over the pyramid site, establishing a patrol perimeter.

The ground below teemed with vehicles as experts from around the world rushed to the scene.

This enormous pyramid had been constructed by a mutant, as local witnesses could attest.

Their homes and cars had suddenly turned to dust, forming the massive structure.

That original pyramid had vanished when someone split it open, causing it to collapse entirely. This even larger pyramid had appeared shortly after.

Some witnesses reported seeing a massive cyan beam of light emanating from the pyramid. The huge cooled lava pool on the ground served as evidence of this beam's destructive power.

Experts were initially skeptical, but after seeing the scorched, cooled lava pool, they had to accept these accounts.

They couldn't view these phenomena through the lens of conventional science—especially when mutants were involved.

Previously, a mutant had controlled people globally and nearly launched all nuclear weapons.

Now there were mutants who could manipulate matter itself. The idea that someone could use a pyramid to generate energy beams wasn't impossible—but it was certainly concerning.

Of course, they were determined to acquire this technology. The potential for energy weapon development was too valuable to ignore.

Experts from around the world entered the pyramid, seeking this technology and the Nobel Prizes it might bring them.

Days passed as Marcus settled into life at Xavier's School. The battle with Apocalypse had shown him the limitations of his current Warframes.

Though each frame had its specialties, their power was insufficient for certain threats.

He set out to create as many Amplifier Crystals as possible to strengthen his Warframes, preparing for any future crises that might arise.

All his research costs came from Charles's generous compensation. Between the 20-year-old commission plus years of interest, and the reward for helping against Apocalypse, Charles handed Marcus 50 million dollars.

Charles's generosity wasn't without reason. Beyond the accumulated commission, there was also the matter of the enormous golden spire they'd brought back.

A large portion of that structure was pure gold. After documenting the patterns, Erik had cut the spire into numerous gold bricks.

This gold became the school's financial reserve, ensuring they could accommodate the growing number of mutant students without worry.

Marcus used all the funds Charles provided to purchase various materials, converting one of the rooms into a research laboratory.

Rather than manufacturing Amplifier Crystals directly, Marcus first constructed a rudimentary Foundry.

This first-generation Foundry looked somewhat crude, but it could perform the basic functions he needed.

To manufacture Amplifier Crystals more efficiently, Marcus used this initial Foundry to create a next-generation model.

Even with its limitations, the first Foundry greatly improved manufacturing efficiency. Though the next-generation Foundry was more complex, the production time had been significantly reduced.

Soon, a more refined Foundry stood ready, appearing much more sophisticated than its predecessor.

"Now we can start making Amplifier Crystals," Marcus said with satisfaction.

He input data commands for various crystal types, then loaded the required materials into the Foundry. As the machine activated, Amplifier Crystals with different enhancement properties emerged, ready for use.

"All that time spent building the Foundry wasn't wasted. The manufacturing efficiency has improved tremendously."
