Unraveling the Alpha's Secret

Chapter 11: Chapter 11

Ivonne's POV

"What?" I questioned in shock, all strength going out of me as I heard a bomb go off in my head.

I staggered, feeling dizzy for a moment as the news washed over me like a bowl of iced water. Luckily I was able to grab the nearest object which was the chair in front of me.

"You were never deaf Ivonne," Allison sneered while I shook my head to rid it off the black dots that smeared my vision. "Or did it just start recently?"

"Stay out of this Allison I'm speaking with Lincoln, my husband and Alpha," I muttered through tightly closed teeth.

"Ex husband Ivonne," Allison threw back in the same manner. "Learn to address him as your Alpha alone."

"Well he's not your husband yet so maybe you should stick to addressing him as that too," I hissed, taking a step forward, all the pain, sadness and guilt I'd ever felt in the past years turning into cold blooded anger. "At least until he freaking introduces you to the pack and carries out the installation ceremony with you as his wife and Luna."

"Oh don't you dare talk to me like you have everything," she sneered, jumping off his thigh to come at me. "I'm carrying his child in barely a few months when it took you for as long as I could wonder about before you were able to?"

"And don't let me remind you," she scoffed, stopping as Lincoln held her back by the arm, prompting her to send him a questioning glimpse and divert her attention back to me a second later. "When you were finally granted the opportunity to carry an heir by the moon goddess, you were careless enough to loose the pup."

"It was an accident Allison, I never meant for it to happen," I countered in a stern gaze. "Wait why in world am I even explaining myself to you when the one who needed the explanation never once believed me."

"Why would he believe you?" Allison lifted an eyebrow. "Go ahead, tell me, why would he?"

"Calm down Allison," Lincoln finally spoke after our banter had gone on for quite a while. "And you Ivonne? What else do you want? I've literally made it clear where I stand in this."

"I totally get it now," I nodded, my brown eyes sweeping both of their forms as they faced me. "I see there's no hope of chance for me anymore."

"I'm glad you finally do see it," Allison folded her arms, tilting her head to the side and eying me in the same way I did her.

"I'm happy about that too," I concurred, a flicker of shock flashing through their expressions at my utterance. "In fact, I do wish I had seen it sooner."

"Now that you do," Lincoln began. "Can you kindly leave us alone?"

"Oh I definitely will," I gritted, clamping my fingers into fists as I felt the urge to hit something, probably his face. "However I'd want you to clarify something."

"What would that be?" He inquired.

"Is Allison really pregnant with your child?" I implored, wanting to hear it one more time.

"Yes," he answered without breaking a sweat, standing up from his seat in the same attire he had on in the morning and strolled to Allison, one hand on her waist while the other rubbed her still flat abdomen. "Allison here, is pregnant with my pup."

^^^^^^

Dusk had taken over the sky, soon it was late at night, I rejected dinner and simply sat on the bed, my back leaning on the headboard, I had no idea how long I stayed that way.

Turned out it was a long time because the next thing I knew, it was morning and the sound of movement was being heard around the pack house.

My red eyes shifted from the wall it had been pinned on for hours to the clock and observed the time as 7 am. I wasn't able to sleep a wink even if I wanted to because my brain felt like it was about to explode.

Even in that morning my head still felt heavy and I sensed a headache coming on. Blinking a few times, I threw my legs to the side and slid down the bed.

There was no time to waste as I only had a less than 12 hours before the hospital would totally give up on mothet's treatment and have her sent away.

Sometime between midnight and the break of daylight, I had come up with a decision. A very risky one which could put me in jeopardy and leave me with no where else to go in this pack and the next if things went south.

On the other hand if things went the right way, I'd end up saving my mother and gaining a strong ally. It was a risk with only a 10% chance of working out but that wouldn't stop me from carrying out the plan.

It was for my mother I was ready to do anything even if it meant approaching the enemy. Another thing that fueled this idea was the fact that it's trigger Lincoln's button if it worked out and I sure as hell wanted to see the look on his face when that happened.

Rising from the bed my state of dress still as it was when I returned from the confrontation with Lincoln and crazy bitch Allison. I didn't bother to wash my face at all as I got stuck in one spot when I returned to my room.

I walked to the closet, picked out a long-sleeved, v-necked red dress that was in a corset style on the upper part while it flowed in a print design from my waist down to my knees where it halted.

Placing the dress on the bed, I hurried to the bathroom and had a quick shower. A towel around my waist, I applied cream, got dressed, brushed my hair and secured it in a high ponytail.

Luckily a knock came at the door in that moment and I didn't hesitate to say "come in," thus only person would seek me at such hour.

"Please help me secure the strings," I said to Lora as she entered and stared at me in wonder. "Going somewhere Luna?" She inquired. "Give me a few minutes while I go get changed."

"You don't have to accompany me Lora," I hurried to say. "I just need you to secure these for me."

"Why don't you want me to follow you?" She inquired, tightening the strings and ending it with a bow.

"It's a personal trip," I explained, whiirling around to grant her a soft smile. "I'll be fine on my own."

"Luna please, I prom—" she began but I shook my head cutting her off.

"Promise to keep this a secret between us," I pleaded, my hands on her shoulders as I peered into her eyes.

"I promise Luna," she hastily said and I beamed at her, whirling to the mirror to give myself an appraisal.

"Thank you," I turned and grabbed her hand. "However I'll need you to escort me downstairs and to the car."

"Will you be driving yourself?" She interrogated.

"Yes," I revealed as we exited the room and strolled across the hallway. We ascended the stairs, luckily only a few people were out and about and no Lincoln in sight, though he couldn't care less where I went.
