Twilight - Dimensional Traveler

Chapter 25: A Small Crisis

The atmosphere was tense between both sides. Edward, who was protecting Bella, noticed that James started to sense something was wrong.

Carlisle, as the leader, had to maintain composure at all times, and his face held only a calm smile.

"Unfortunately, your hunting activities have caused us a bit of trouble." said Carlisle.

"We're very sorry, we didn't know this territory already had an owner." Laurent apologized.

"Yes, we maintain our permanent residence here." Carlisle said.

Mark listened in silence. Edythe was at his side, not taking her eyes off the other party.

"Really? Well, we won't cause any more problems for you." Laurent said.

Edward, who could read minds, was always focused on listening to James's thoughts.

Mark also noticed Edward's behavior and activated his mind-reading ability.

When he heard James's thoughts, Mark showed a smile at the corners of his mouth.

Although Mark hadn't expected it, James had been paying attention to him and Bella.

"The humans are tracking us; we sent them east, they'll be safe." Victoria commented with a playful tone.

"Excellent." Carlisle nodded in response.

"So, do you need three more players?" Laurent asked Carlisle. His tone was as if it were all just a joke.

Hearing the black vampire's question, everyone looked at Carlisle, waiting for his answer.

Realizing that Carlisle had no intention of responding, Laurent said: "Please, it's just a game."

"Sure, why not? Some of us were about to leave. You can take their place." Carlisle thought of an excuse so Edward could leave with Bella.

Edythe, who was a bit tense, looked at Mark and noticed the other party had slightly curved lips.

What kind of strange smile is that, why do I feel like he's enjoying the situation? Edythe thought.

"We're batting!" said Carlisle, throwing the ball to Laurent, but it was intercepted by Victoria.

"I have a very dangerous curveball," Victoria joked.

She turned and left with Laurent, leaving James staring at Bella and Mark with a suspicious look.

Realizing he couldn't find anything, he turned to follow his companions.

Mark knew that this was the right moment, and everything around him suddenly became slow-motion. He could see every scene around him.

He walked very calmly, as if nothing else mattered. Mark looked at Bella and noticed her hair floating in the wind.

Edward, who hadn't let his guard down for a moment; Edythe, who was a bit relieved.

He walked and stopped in front of James, then time began to flow normally again.

The wind blew, and Bella's blood scent hit James's nose.

Edward, who had been on guard the whole time, reading James's thoughts, realized that the other party noticed Bella was human.

Not good. Edward thought.

But before he could pull Bella away to protect her, he saw Mark appear in front of the vampire James, almost as if he had teleported, and his movements stopped.

Even Edythe, who was next to Mark, wondered when he had moved.

James, who had his eyes closed, intoxicated by the scent of Bella, didn't notice anything.

"Looks like you brought uhh..." Before James could finish his words, he felt a strong grip on his neck, and his words stopped.

With an expression of pain, he looked at the person who was choking him with such force that his neck was about to crack.

For a moment, he showed a look of surprise, unable to understand how the other could be so strong.

Mark, who was choking James with great strength, noticed that Laurent and Victoria were surprised by the scene and froze for a moment before running toward James to help him.

The same happened with the Cullen family members—they didn't expect Mark to do something like that, and their minds were confused, not understanding.

But since Mark was one of them, they couldn't just stand by and watch, so the whole family rushed to stand by his side.

All of this happened in a matter of seconds, but although vampires are strong and fast, to Mark they are weak and slow.

Before James's companions got close, Mark punched James in the stomach, making him fly several meters away.

Luckily, Laurent and Victoria managed to intercept him before he fell to the ground like a piece of trash.

"You're very bold, coming here and considering my brother-in-law's wife as a snack." Mark said with a cold tone.

Victoria, who was thinking of fighting to avenge her partner, felt immense pressure from the other party—it was as if every cell in her body screamed for her to flee as fast as possible.

Bella, still dazed, blushed when Mark said she was Edward's wife.

James, who fell to the ground, had his entire body cracked, as if he could fall apart at any moment.

How can such a powerful vampire exist? Laurent thought when he saw James's condition.

In his heart, he had already decided that he would part ways with those two if, by chance, he survived today's crisis.

------

Unfortunately, the deadly prod to the vampire's chrysanthemum can't be done. I decided to save this secret technique for a certain special person.

I ask you: should I kill these vampires or let them go? Tell me what you think about it. A comment on the previous chapter said I should let them go, so they become future trouble in the plot.

Since I don't know what to do with them, I'll post only one chapter today and wait for everyone's responses.

That's it for today. Until next time...
