Chapter 186: chapter 185
Yue thought for a moment, "...maybe, I don't...know but theoretically it should be fine, cultivating is just like USING laws so you should be able to do while moving. And we do have separate thoughts, it should work."
"Then, shall we test it? Anytime now I suspect Jin will come asking for a spar, I could test out my aura and this at the same time in a real scenario?"
"Let's do that then, while you get ready I'll sort what I'm doing. I'll be quiet now, awaken me when your ready."
Hou nodded and jumped back up, he looked out the window and saw it was sunset now. He closed his curtains then walked to the door while thinking of meeting with Jin.
On the way he picked up his privacy disk and clicked it, removing the miasma around the room. He opened the door and disappearing as a flying wisp of blood.
He was not sent to Jin's room but sent directly outside into the training grounds, Hou landed and while brushing his robes he noted, "And she's already here..."
"Jin!" Hou shouted out and awaited a response, he knew she must be here since that is where he was sent.
From behind him he felt a tingle and without thinking he ducked, just before a spike of blood swept past where his head would have been.
"You want to spar? Weird, normally you would be reluctant...is this to do with you not being in class?"
Hou held up his hands, "no more sneaky attacks right now!" He breathed out as he stood up, "Yes, let's just say I had a breakthrough with some techniques"
Jin smiled as she cracked her neck, "Breakthroughs huh. Well, don't leave me hanging, lets begin."
Jin held her hands open to her sides as she waited for Hou to get ready. He looked at her in the eye and in his head said to himself, 'Lets just test out aura firstly, sorry Hamar for using it already'
Though they could not actually hear each other, Hamar and Hou had that link and when Hou thought to use aura Hamar knew.
Hamar's aura shook, as if getting ready for a fight while Hamar was simply meditating. This was because they shared aura so it reacted to Hou's control despite being in Hamar's body.
Hou pinched his skin and blood seeped out. He pulled it further and further and more blood seeped out, creating a crystalline blood sword.
The sword was black with a red outer layer and multi coloured spots throughout. It resembled the night sky covered in a red mist, this was the result of his Celestial Law Amplifying Physique.
It was a fairly simple use of blood laws, blood control and this was one of Hou's specialties since Yue, his first master, was a blood cultivator.
He created the blade then held it in front of him in a rough stance. He was imitating what he had once learned from Hamar but he had become rusty and unpractised.
Jin squinted, "A sword? Are you sure, I've not seen you use a sword before..."
Hou winked, "A man has to have some secrets" then he rolled his eyes, "And I used to use a sword briefly in the past but I've become rusty, just testing it out"
Jin nodded and started slowly, throwing one hand forward, releasing a spike of blood. It was not slow but neither was it fast, Hou could tell she was being considerate.
Hou focused his intention on the tip of the sword as he moved it through the air to deflect the blood spike.
Without using aura to start Hou knew his blood path was weaker than Jin's and his sword could not destroy her spike.
He hot the side but his angle was off and instead of deflecting the spike, it cracked the sword and went straight for Hou's head.
Though it was slow enough Hou used a body cultivation technique and moved his head out the way.
"I did say I was rusty aha" Hou put on an awkward smile. "Again"
Jin pouted and threw out her other arm, a fast spike shooting forward. Hou recalled Hamar's instructions and he recalled his fighting style.
Hou tried his best to imitate him and he moved his sword with confidence unbefitting of his skill. He moved it in the way of the blood spike and swung it downwards.
The angle was good and with the strength laws technique active his strength glowed through the sword and deflected the blood spike. His sword cracked even more but the spike missed him without him dodging.
"A little better" Jin commented on his swordsmanship.
Hou examined his sword and then cut his own hand in order for blood to fill in the cracks. Once it was healed Hou thought to himself,
'It seems that some of Hamar's skills in swordsmanship might have transferred in the ritual...that movement felt TOO good'
"Now for some real testing, let's fight for real now!" Hou shouted out and then he got ready.
He put two finger on his blade then closed his eyes. He felt his connection with Hamar and felt 'their' aura, it shook.
He pulled it through the magical connection the two had and the aura turned blue to red as it transferred owners.
The aura was ultimately all Hamar's but in Hou's body it transformed to suit him. Hou dragged his fingers across his blade and as he did it started to glow.
The blade became glowing with a red aura and Hou looked Jin in the eyes, "fight."
Hamar sat in his room meditating with his eyes closed as he sensed Hou taking his aura. One eye opened as he felt the aura, despite it changing 'owner' he could still sense it.
Hou could not since he was a beginner at swordsmanship and aura control but Hamar was both talented and experienced, he felt whatever Hou was doing with his aura on a base level.
That didn't mean he could 'see' the fight with Jin but using his experience and information he gathers from the aura he can create a guess, an approximation, of the fight. He stopped meditating as he focused on Hou's fight and his aura control.
"Did he inherit some of my control...?"
Jin ran sideways as she barraged Hou with a storm of small blood blades. She could do bigger ones but she wanted to conserve her laws and larger ones would take longer to form.
Hou did not dodge them instead he looked at them and charged forward. With a burst of energy he ran forward INTO the storm of spikes.
He swung the sword sideways while letting out aura and a blade of red energy shot forward across the battlefield.
Each blood spike it hit, the aura sparked and the two destroyed each other, creating bubbles of air on the smooth blade.
Hou ran forward while swinging his sword, occasionally letting out blades of aura, "This is just the start!"
