Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: Powerful and alluring
Ivy had to outsmart the people chasing her so she moved very fast within the crowd at the museum. Moving swiftly her dark Auburn hair danced with wind.
Her raspberry-red mini-skirt couldn't affect her hasty movement. The black jacket and white tank top underneath complimented her outfit.
Ivy quickly took a turn into the dark alley, finally escaping the crowd at the museum. Her dark shades completed the killer look she went for. Taking another right turn in the dark alley, the people following her split in two, making a one-man pursuit.
She hid behind a pile of trash bags and the guy chasing her caught up to her. He was busy searching for her.
When his friend came to the spot he found his dead body and it was proven that she didn't use any harmful weapon, she attacked from the back.
The hefty-looking guy was confused about how she killed him in the twinkle of an eye and disappeared.
She became the main target after her father's death. Taking missions with the help of Shadow. This happens to be one of those deathly missions.
The target had full knowledge that someone was coming after him and preparing for a counterattack.
She sat in her car and placed a call. "Done," She announced indifferently.
It's been 3 months since her father's death and things have not been easy. But she did well in all she had been learning and felt so much like her father's spirit was with her all the time. She couldn't bring herself to disobey him even in his absence.
She pulled up in the parking lot and took in a deep breath, sipping the air. She'd never felt nervous about any mission like this.
The car opened and Shadow sat next to her. He took in a deep breath exhaling audibly, It was time for the ultimate mission, and they both couldn't help but feel tense.
" Ready for this journey?" he asked after a long silence.
"Where is he now,?" Ivy asked, ignoring the question.
Shadow took a closer look at his watch, " Heading up North, I think we are 30 minutes to action."
Ivy shrugged. She'd been preparing for this the same day her father died. She has to put on hold every other mission just so she can study this mission. It was amazing to hear that her father had been blundering with this and he expected to finish it in 2 months.
" Master ordered to hand this to you when you take on this task, " Shadow informed, handing a golden locket to Ivy.
The sinister look on her face proved she didn't feel anything special about it in her heart. " What is this for,?" She asked indifferently.
" He said you must have this," Shadow responded with a tight-lipped smile.
He had always hated her lack of exuberance. Yes, she was brought up that way but so was he. He was just an orphan roaming the streets of Bologna when Don Carlos helped him from being beaten to death because he stole from a chop.
He learned to hate the world just like his Master, but Ivy had it rough. At least Shadow was grateful to his Master and he grew to love him and his daughter as family. But Ivy didn't know family, all she knew was that hatred and the Sanguinary feeling.
Ivy shrugged and shoved the locket back into his hands. " I don't need a locket to remind me of his instructions, the rules, and instructions will be followed without any hitches."
Shadow smiled tilted forward, and wore the locket around her neck, Ivy didn't resist she was more concerned about having to live with a total stranger who happened to be her next victim.
" Change your clothes and get ready for action. Here is your new Identity. " He handed over to Ivy a new ID card.
" See you soon, " Ivy said, dismissing him.
" Careful out there, he's been looking for you ever since your first mission. " Shadow warned.
" And I'm a sheep shifter with a single color. No one sees the same version of me twice unless you want to die twice before your actual death. " She said confidently but yet very calmly.
Shadow stepped out of the car, adjusting his sunglasses.
It was a sunny day and a good day to put on shades and go basking in the sun but Shadow and Ivy knew not to.
Ivy took a deep breath and gave the locket a tight quiz before pulling and Upping it inside her pocket. She sped up with a determined feeling, Missions are never this tense but she felt her life was. Going to take a new road from this. But one thing was clear to her, no one was getting out alive and she had to win.

" Welcome back home sir, " A fine-looking guy dressed in a black suit greeted me in a respectful bow.
" Thanks, Dreco," The handsome guy with a straight face answered.
He looked out the window of the car, taking in some fresh air. He felt like something was going to happen to him; not a gut feeling, but a feeling of change like something was about to happen that would change his life. Bologna always felt different and warm, though he lived in Rome for work but coming back to Bologna meant a lot to him.
" What's happening in Bologna lately?" Xavier asked his driver, still having a keen look at the beauty of the city.
" Calm, normal. nothing going on for the past few months." Dreco said, letting out an exaggerated yawn. " At least no current assassination,"
Xavier creased his brows with a slight frown. This issue of top government officials and influential people being assassinated in Italy and Europe at large without any trace of the assassins was a common phenomenon. No one knew how they did it and no one could ever trace them through their clients.
His Mind was occupied with the thoughts of how to finally put a stop to these assassins. He looked out the window of the Bugatti Divo, thinking of a better way to solve the mission his father left him with.
" Watch out…!!!! Xavier shouted when Sportbike raced past his car with speed followed by a car chasing it. They would have been hit if his driver wasn't fast enough.
He decided to join the race. " After them Dreco.. " He ordered with a grimace, his throat hurting from the force with which he said those words.
Draco joined without any protest. The car ahead opened fire on the person on the bike shooting violently.
" Faster… Dreco. " Xavier yelled. " We need to catch up. "
Draco drove as fast as he could, his eyes on the road. "Request backup, sir. We can't catch up on time," he suggested, his gaze still on the road.
"May I remind you that I'm the boss here, and we will follow my instructions. " He retorted with a grimace.
He hated it when people underestimated his capabilities as a detective and Dreco should know better about his likes and dislikes.
The person on the bike; finally got shot by the bullet which hit her left shoulder and the other just brushed past her head but she couldn't ride anymore diving into the nearby forest and allowing the bike her favorite: to hit the tree ahead.
The guy chasing her stopped his car immediately and got out. He ran towards the girl who slept face down and shot the gun at her again, but failed because the strange car chasing them was catching up with him.
" The ball is in your court now, play smart." He whispered under his breath. He ran back to his car and swung it right back on the road before the Bugatti Divo could catch.
" After him!!" Xavier yelled while stepping out of the car.
" Yes sir," Dreco responded, nodding his head for emphasis. " Request backup??" He asked, looking a bit puzzled.
Xavier slammed the car door shut, with fury. " Dammit!! Dreco," He shrieked " I will kill you," He threatened walking towards the dead girl; well supposed, but possibly she could be dead.
Draco marched the speed pedal with all intensity hoping to catch up with the Lexus.
Xavier walked to where the subconscious girl lay face down in half jog and walked steps. He bent down on one knee carefully turning her over revealing her face.
He remained in a daze, gazing at her beautiful face. A part of her disheveled hair seemed to be covering a good portion of her face. Xavier removed the hair from her face tugging it behind her ear.
He touched her wrist for any pulse and placed his head on her chest to make sure she was still breathing but got nothing but calm.
He lamented, letting Dreco go with the car. He searched her body for any identification. Luckily, he found her ID card and read the name, " Ludovica Russo.." He pulled them in a way one could feel he was caressing each syllabus of the name. " Ludovica Maria Russo…" read the name again this time thinking about its meaning. " Powerful; but yet alluring and lovely."
While he was busy going through her identity, the unconscious lady coughed, choking on her spit. Xavier immediately dropped the small bag and placed his hand behind her head to support her.
She tried to open her eyes but couldn't because the evening sun was setting in and blazing straight into her eyes. The huge guy kneeling close to her was not able to protect the sun from streaking her eyes.
" Just hang on… You'll visit the hospital soon. " Xavier said encouragingly to her.
The evening wind blew and her messed-up hair covered a good portion of her face again. She struggled to lift her hand but realized she couldn't move her arm.
Xavier saw the struggle and decided to help. He bent over to inspect the position where she had been shut. She moved a little and their lips were just an inch close. She finally opened her eyes and their eyes met, Xavier was stunned by those unusual blue eyes.
In that split moment, time seemed to stop moving and everywhere was motionless. She was uncomfortable and awkward by the situation and moved her neck a little bit. That's when Xavier felt his hands were damped in blood and so was the entire spot where her head lay.
Dreco pulled the car behind him, stepping out of the car immediately. " Sir… Is she still alive?" He asked, heaving a tired sigh.
" Yes, but has lost a tank of blood. We don't have much time to save her." He carried her in his arms like a bride. Walking towards his car." What about the guy?"
" The car has been burnt. I don't know if he was inside when it caught fire," Dreco opened the car door for his boss who got in with the girl in his arms.
" Let's get her to the hospital," He instructed.
" No, no hospital." a weak, but soft voice said pleadingly.
Xavier looked at her and then at his driver.
