The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 128 - Justification

This comment was quite displeasing.

Some people present were unhappy. While it was true that the school was at fault for not managing the situation properly and could not escape responsibility, the parents couldn’t simply blame the school without any consideration. They were all waiting here with their injured children for a resolution. After all, if this issue wasn’t clarified, the grievances between the two kids would be hard to untangle.

However, this didn’t mean they were truly afraid of the problem. As a social institution, the school had to manage the situation appropriately. The students were entrusted to the school for their education, and the principal and teachers needed to maintain a suitable attitude and do their best to cooperate with the proceedings.

At this moment, with the situation still unclear, it was not yet determined who was right or wrong. The parent had rushed in with baseless accusations against the school’s students, claiming they were undisciplined and saying they couldn’t trust them to educate their child…

Heaven knows that the school was absolutely professional in its education practices, at least on this planet. Many people wanted to send their children to their prestigious Bescar Intermediate Academy, and admission depended on qualifications. Why was this person speaking like that?

Jason had been the principal of this school for over a decade. Although it was more difficult for him to bear such heavy responsibilities due to his personality, that didn’t mean he didn’t love this school. On the contrary, it was precisely because he loved the school, the teaching profession, and the students that he could restrain himself and sit in this position to handle some tedious work.

Over the years, he had seen many things. Incidents like today’s occurred every few months, after all, a school is a place for teaching and nurturing, and there were many students with unstable dispositions, which naturally led to conflicts. It was common for students to come to the principal’s office due to fights or personal grievances.

So when a patrolling duty student hurriedly informed him that there was a student fight on the training ground resulting in both students losing consciousness, Jason, drawing from his rich experience, tried to handle the situation as calmly as possible and remembered to notify the parents of both students.

Actually, it was the parents of one of the students he needed to contact because the other poor child no longer had family; their household registration was with a collective account. Therefore, the school would likely have to act as their representative in handling the matter. Just as he was about to inform the class teacher of this student to handle the situation, that Stark teacher unexpectedly received the news and rushed over on their own to deal with it.

Upon further inspection of the two students involved, one had recently encountered some trouble during a training exercise. How had this one gotten involved again?

Originally, Principal Jason wanted the kids to receive proper medical treatment and rest for the night before discussing the matter. Notifying the parents was merely to keep them informed about the patients’ conditions since both had sustained significant injuries. Fortunately, things hadn’t escalated too much.

He didn’t expect the parent to be so aggressive.

Not only did they cause a ruckus in the medical office, but they also wanted to grab the child and demand immediate answers. Their disturbance was loud enough to alert nearby campuses. The principal had no choice but to gather everyone in the meeting room and then have the lead medical officer bring medicine and medical equipment to treat the students nearby.

That aside, the other party, clearly seeing that Jiang Hui had not woken up for a long time, kept urging and shouting for her to get up and explain herself. They threatened the principal and the teachers present in various ways, even going so far as to say they would expose them in the news, making bold claims that Jason would no longer be able to serve as principal.

In short, they were being completely unreasonable.

Jason and the others felt like scholars meeting soldiers, completely unable to articulate their points. It wasn’t that they couldn’t handle the situation, but the fact remained that the other party’s child had gotten into trouble at school. They couldn’t rashly say anything or use forceful measures before getting to the bottom of the matter; doing so would only solidify the impression that their school was bullying the other side.

Fortunately, shortly after, Stark and Captain Zou Yi, who was responsible for campus patrols this month, arrived. These two officers, clearly carrying military ranks, quickly subdued the previously arrogant parent.

Although the other party didn’t change their nagging demeanor, at least their remarks were no longer so extreme, and they had no intention of approaching the unconscious child.

Regardless of how things turned out, Jason had a very negative impression of Carl’s father.

After briefly observing Jiang Hui’s furious and agitated expression, Jason seemed to contemplate for a moment and interrupted Mr. Carl’s endless tirade: “As a parent, I would ask you to remain calm. It seems rather rash to make such definitive judgments about the course of events and right and wrong. I think we should allow Jiang Hui to finish explaining. Perhaps we should first listen to her reasons for acting as she did.”

“What do you mean? Are you saying there’s a reason for her to beat my son up like this?! What kind of reason or grudge can justify beating someone to this extent? Just look at her—she hasn’t even lost a hair and still has the nerve to pretend to be unconscious; she’s probably just afraid of waking up and having to explain herself,” Mr. Carl said, becoming even angrier upon hearing this.

“I still want to ask what grudge you think your son had that made him suddenly pop out and attack me, kicking me in the gut. Am I supposed to be pretending? Do you know that one kick of his nearly made my insides bleed? I’m in pain—really severe pain. If I hadn’t been quick to react and managed to avoid him breaking my limbs, that would have been his luck,” the girl retorted with a cold smile.

“Hey, you little brat, are you reversing the situation now? So, you’re saying my son attacked you first when he was just minding his own business? A pure-hearted person like my son, who’s just fine… Why would he want to attack you for no reason?”

“Then why don’t you tell me why I would want to beat him up like this out of the blue?” Jiang Hui interrupted his nonsensical logic. If he wanted to go in circles, she could play that game too.

The other party suddenly stumbled over his words before he stammered, “How would I know why you would hit him? Maybe, maybe you’re just jealous of him… and wanted to bully him.”

“I should mention that until now, I have no idea what this classmate who attacked me looks like or who he is. What is there for me to be jealous of him?” Jiang Hui was done with this conversation.

“I had my reasons for being there. Today, the class advisor made me run laps, and I was running to that spot to collect my things and head back. Then this classmate of yours suddenly showed up, kicking me without any reason, and he was kicking me hard! If I hadn’t reacted quickly, it would be me lying down right now. What happened now is just returning the favor!”

“Why don’t you ask him? Explain why he was there at that time. You insist that I’m jealous of him and that I specifically went to bully him… Do you think I invited him to the training ground just to beat him up like this?” Jiang Hui’s gaze fell on the person on the sofa, her eyes sharp. “Hey, you classmate, I see you’re awake. Stop pretending. Get up and accuse me; I’d like to hear what your reason is.”
