The war in Alabasta was finally over.

The sun shone over the golden sand, casting a warm glow on the capital city of Alubarna. The people were gathering in the streets, cheering, laughing, crying. What had once been a land on the brink of collapse was now breathing freely, hope rising like a tide.

Vivi stood on the steps of the palace, her hands pressed together, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from her people. Kaya stood at her side, offering a soft, supportive smile. And next to them—the man who had made it all possible.

Rael.

He remained silent, his cloak rustling gently in the desert wind. His presence alone was enough. The townspeople didn't need words. They knew. This man had saved their kingdom.

Far above the steps, King Nefertari Cobra slowly descended, flanked by his guards. His face was pale from days of captivity, but he held his head high. As he reached the platform where Rael stood, he dropped to one knee.

A gasp echoed through the gathered crowd.

"From the bottom of my heart," Cobra said, bowing his head deeply, "thank you for saving my daughter. And thank you for saving Alabasta."

Rael blinked, visibly caught off guard. He stepped forward and gently took the king's shoulder. "You don't need to kneel. Stand."

Cobra slowly stood, eyes locking with Rael's. He was a king—and a father. And what he saw in Rael's eyes wasn't just power. It was sincerity. Purpose. Even kindness.

He looked past him then, at Vivi. She was laughing, talking excitedly with Kaya and Robin. Her eyes sparkled in a way he hadn't seen since she was a child.

Something clicked in his mind.

He turned back to Rael, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "You are close to my daughter."

Rael nodded. "She's strong. She stood up for this kingdom even when it nearly cost her life."

"Yes," the king said quietly. "And she cares deeply for you."

Rael said nothing.

The king looked out over the city, where people danced and sang. The soldiers were already clearing the last of the Baroque Works remnants. Crocodile had vanished—unbeknownst to all, captured and taken by the Marines in secret.

But for now, the kingdom was safe.

"What if," Cobra said, turning back, "I asked you to marry her?"

Rael blinked. "You're serious?"

"You've already done more for Alabasta than any prince could. You have the strength to protect her, and she's already chosen to be by your side."

Rael hesitated. "She's free to choose."

"Of course," the king said. "But look at her."

Rael turned. Vivi was laughing with Kaya and Robin, and for a moment she glanced back—her eyes locking with Rael's. Her expression softened.

The king noticed.

"I don't believe she'd refuse," he said. "And I know a father's heart."

Rael remained silent, unsure what to say.

Not far away, Robin leaned against a marble pillar, watching the interaction from a distance. She had always been sharp, able to read people with frightening precision. And Rael—he was different. Powerful, certainly. But not power-hungry.

Just... alive. Real. She liked that.

And Kaya, sitting beside Vivi, smiled. She already knew the answer in her heart. Whether Vivi joined or not, she didn't mind. She wanted Rael to be loved. Because a man like him deserved it.

The people continued their celebration well into the afternoon.

Drums, horns, dances in the streets. Food shared. Tears shed.

Rael sat quietly at the palace balcony, overlooking it all.

He felt something again. That subtle disturbance in the air.

A presence.

But not from this world.

He turned his head slightly.

"System," he whispered.

[. I know. You feel it too. .]

"Still watching?"

[. It never left. .]

Rael frowned. Whatever this force was—it wasn't from the gods who betrayed him. This... was something older. More twisted. But for now, he let it go.

His hand rested on the hilt of his blade.

The world may have rejoiced in peace today, but he knew better.

Peace never lasted.

In Mariejois, the highest seat of power in the world, the Five Elders gathered around a long table.

"The report from Cipher Pol confirms it," one elder said. "Rael was instrumental in Crocodile's defeat."

Another spoke. "Not only that—he's built influence. With royalty. With the people."

"He's dangerous," said a third.

"Then raise the bounty," said the fourth. "And prepare a contingency."

The final elder leaned forward, his eyes sharp.

"We cannot allow another Dragon to rise. This one... must be watched."
