The Scavenger's code

Chapter 4: unheard of

General Garry stood in a board room with the lights switched off, the only light that was being shone came from below his feet and the other came from the big screen which was split into multiple boxes of faces. General Garry Garry was currently on a conference call with all the major leaders and generals across the world.

There were not many generals in the world because ascending to a new rank required the strongest wills and toughest battles to become one, often it required you to slay and then drink the blood of the S-class monster or in some rare moments if an A+ class monster that had some level of twisted sentience appeared.

But is was not always the case, it wasn't always as simple as killing a monster and then drinking it's blood, in most cases the blood itself has a defence mechanism that contained poison to kill predators who drank or the blood was too potent it drives the consumer in a frenzy an eventually circums to the mutation.

With all that said there were currently fifty generals in the world and fifteen of them where leaders of nations and great cities but all Generals had a high standing in society, not just because they were glorified combatants of monsters but also due to there assists in helping the Earth's nations thrive hence during the past century the scavenger association had taken over the united nations which had previously supported it.

General Garry stood in the room as he stared at the screen waiting for everyone to join all he could do was stand at ease and count the number of black boxes that where not yet light up in his mind.

Twenty seven Generals had now joined the meeting including thirty leaders. These leaders who possessed no super abilities like that of the rankers but where instead mundane humans, they were only leaders because the rule of democracy was still intact. The black boxes finally narrowed down to only three boxes that where not yet responding. The last to join was the supreme General.

The supreme General was the head of the scavenger association and strongest combatant on the planet at the moment. This was because he was the first person to successfully reach the SS- rank class without dieing or losing his mind. The title of supreme General was given only when a rank attained the SS- rank title.

General Garry gave a sigh as he noticed the supreme General appear and now stood attentively. He saluted to the people in the screen and great the supreme General. Though he was the only one respectfuly saluting him. This was because most of the generals on the screen where currently either fighting hordes of monsters, had just finished killing a powerful monster or where exhausted after making insanely risky descions that resulted in victories over the monsters. So most of the generals where just greeting the supreme General with a smile, while some with a wave of the hand.

The Supreme exuded an aura of unrivaled dominance. Standing behind a massive black steel desk in a minimalist office glowing faintly with embedded energy conduits, he commanded the room without effort. His piercing gaze seemed to strip away all pretense, and his calm yet imposing posture suggested a storm held in perfect control. Dressed in a regal, cyber-enhanced uniform, the faint hum of his personal shield added to his air of invincibility. His voice was deliberate, every word carrying the weight of absolute authority, making defiance unthinkable.

Beside him stood his A+ ranked assistant, a figure of sharp precision and quiet confidence. Clad in a sleek, tactical uniform that hinted at her augmented abilities, she was always in motion, seamlessly managing data streams and anticipating his needs. Though far below the Supreme in rank, her intelligence and efficiency commanded respect, making her an indispensable ally. Together, they had formed a perfect synergy—the Supreme's overwhelming presence tempered by her sharp, tactical edge.

The supreme General spoke. " It is good to see all of you on such short notice, General Garry tell me why you have called all of us " his voice was deep and brimming with power.

General Garry answered. " Supreme General I have called to inform you that operation diamond in the ruff is now a success, the boy will now be joining our ranks very soon."

" Alright then " the supreme General chuckled. " What rank do you suppose he is ?"

General Garry hesitated before answering and instead said. " You might not believe this Supreme General but, he defeated a B-class monster."

"What rank is he ?" The supreme General asked again this time in a somber voice.

" His is of the Dormant rank sir ...." General Garry spoke.

This sent a silence through the entire screen with most of the leaders having their mouths unconsciously open and the others with wide eyes.

" That's unheard of ! " One of the generals spoke breaking the silence.
