Chapter 543: Just Wanna Keep Calling Your Name
[KIA]
Staring at the photo before her, Kia felt like the world was just playing games with her.
The universe had to have been high on shit to get her back into this place in time. She had come here for the rogue and now it was like she was being thrust into a whole different life, one in which she didn't find anything.
The woman calling herself Hawi looked so much like the one back home and this creeped her out. It just didn't make any sense to her and she wanted to go back home. She needs to go back home.
However, before she could make another step, Thando came back with her food, packed, like it was what they always did.
"Packed?" Kia asked and Thando just smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah. You guys never ate without each other. I figured you wanted to take this home since you both were too sweet," Thando said excitedly, stars in her eyes as she looked at the woman before her.
She was genuinely happy for Kia and Hawi and that scared the woman even more. It made Kia wonder what kind of life she had been living and whether it was worth all of this. But then if she didn't have amnesia, she would have remembered all of this.
"Ah, yeah. Thank you. I should get going before she starts missing me," Kia said, her words coming out freely like she had spoken them one too many times. Her heart felt warm and it was like the world was hers and Hawi's to conquer.
"Have a good evening, Mrs. Hawi. Please pass my regards to her, and as always, I wish you both the longest and happiest of lives. May the goddess be kind to you and your family," Thando said and Kia just nodded in silence.
She could feel the tears come at the emotion of their supposed happy family. This wasn't something she had been used to and she hated that regardless of the shit that was happening, she was so close to losing her mind once again.
There had been days when she dreamt of a certain woman in her dreams, a woman who made her laugh and smile effortlessly. She always dreamt of the woman who made her feel whole, like her life was just a path of roses, no matter how hard it had been for her.
She had always felt like a part of her was missing, and now that she had seen Hawi, Kia couldn't help but wonder if they were truly in love. She had questions about what had happened to her and how she had ended up an amnesiac.
For the years she had levied after her amnesia, she hadn't asked anyone what had happened to her or even how she had gotten to this point.
All that had mattered to her was being the queen and yet even that seemed to make her feel emptier than the thought of being alone without Hawi. She didn't know who Hawi was, but her heart hurt for Hawi.
She wanted to know why this Hawi, the woman everyone was almost sure that she belonged to, hadn't come for her. Had she broken up with Hawi? Had she done something unforgivable to cause the fallout?
Was Hawi dead?
What the fuck had happened to make it all that hard and why the fuck was she tearing up like that.
Oh, but Kia was worried.
"Your majesty, are you okay?" Kadiam asked and Kia looked at him, wondering if these eyes would give her the answers she needed. She wondered if Kadiam would come clean to her or even tell her the truth.
"Of course, there was just a little too much pepper in the food. Have you guys paid up? We need to leave now," Queen Kia said and Dumi stared at her skeptically. Something had happened in there and they needed to know.
But at the same time, they wouldn't question their queen nor would they go to the Fae earlier because if they did that, then the queen would know and that wouldn't exactly end well for them.
This wasn't the easiest of things for the two protectors and the high guards, but they had to wait it out.
"By the way, how long have you guys been protectors for Olyana?" Queen Kia asked and they looked at each other, wondering what the fuck this was about. Of course, they had known that time would open so many times, but they had expected it like this.
"A few years before we were assigned to you, Your Majesty," Dumi said, his voice stiff yet respectful. He was holding information and Kia could tell that too. Perhaps there was something that had truly happened that made them like this.
"I see. Let's get going, shall we?" Queen Kia said and Kadiam reached out to the food packet she was hiding in her hands, ready to help her carry it, but the queen ignored him. She didn't need help carrying a packet of food… Well, not this one anyway.
As they made their way to club Hernia, Kia and the crew saw kids running around. They looked so happy, so content and carefree. It was like they were living the happiest of moments and they didn't even understand what life was.
She is happy for them, truly. Well, that was until a memory hit her, making her come to an instant halt. Her head hurt, but the memory didn't seem to fade. If anything, it seemed more potent.
It was a memory of her and Hawi… the woman whose picture had been stuck in her head for a while now.

[FLASHBACK]
"They look so happy, I wish I was that happy when I was their age," Hawi said as she watched the kids run around. She was seated on one of the public beaches in the realm and Kia was beside her holding her hand gently.
"I'm sorry I wasn't in your life sooner, malyshka," Kia said and Hawi chuckled.
"It's okay. I have you now. Besides, you make me the happiest woman in all the realms. With you, my life is easier and lighter. I am glad I met you, even if it wasn't in the best of ways," Hawi said and Kia held onto her softly.
"Someday we will have kids who look like you, and me," Kia mused, making Hawi turn to her in surprise.

"Nahh, I'm too insane to have any mini-me's running around. The world would burn if that happens. We don't want the moon goddess in our asses because of kids being psychos like me," Hawi said and Kia smiled at her.
"Well, we will raise them together. You're capable of love, malyshka, so I know our kids will turn out just fine. You're kind and intelligent. Sure, you're a warrior and are feared by everyone, but you also love genuinely and truly care about people.
"I fell in love with you for who you were not for the power you wielded, malyshka. We're both too powerful to even consider anything, and you're too beautiful and perfect to think otherwise.
"I would choose you in every lifeline and our kids too. They will be the best of us both. Besides, we have the best bunch of people who will help us out if we don't know what to do.
"They are kinder than us, but none kinder than you," Kia had said, making Hawi laugh at their statement. She had contradicted herself but that didn't seem to matter to Kia because she was happy with Hawi. That was the only thing that mattered.
"You're crazy, my beautiful. Anyway, tell me. If we have kids, do you want boys or girls?" Hawi asked as she looked at the kids who were playing before them, oblivious to the dangerous people who were watching them in earnest.
"The gender won't matter. As long as it's you and I, and they are our kids. That is all that I care about," Kia said and Hawi pouted at her as if that was supposed to make her change her mind. Well, it wasn't that hard, but family was the one thing they had both hoped for.
"You will love them more than me. We shouldn't have kids. I don't want to share your love," Hawi whined and Kia laughed at her putting Hawi. The woman was too cute and Kia leaned in for a kiss, but just before their lips could mate…
