The Lost king

Chapter 54: CHAPTER THIRTY: "The End of a Tyrant"

INT. OJORA PALACE – THRONE ROOM – NIGHT (CONTINUED)

Swords clash. Sparks fly.

ADEKUNLE counters a strike and knocks Adeola's sword aside, sending him crashing to the ground. For a moment, everything goes quiet except the sound of Adeola's labored breath.

ADEKUNLE

(grinning, cruel)

Do you feel it, boy? That chill crawling up your spine?

(steps forward)

This is the same spot… right here—

(points to the stone floor)

Where I murdered your father… and your mother's screams echoed in these walls.

ADEOLA'S eyes widen. His breath is shaky. Memories flash—his mother's voice, his father's dying words, the fire, the betrayal.

ADEKUNLE

I made sure no one would remember your name.

He raises his blade.

ADEKUNLE (CONT'D)

Yet here you are... about to die like the rest of your bloodline.

ADEOLA'S hand trembles, then steadies.

He grips his sword.

ADEOLA

(firm, quiet)

You're wrong.

(stands slowly, eyes blazing)

My name lives.

In every rebel who stood beside me.

In every village you burned.

In every child who dreams of freedom.

Adeola's aura changes. Not rage—purpose.

He surges forward. Their blades collide again—but now the tide has turned.

Strike. Parry. Spin. Slash.

Adekunle begins to falter—his age showing, his strength waning. Adeola lands a powerful blow across his chest. Adekunle stumbles, coughing blood.

ADEKUNLE (grimacing, laughing weakly) So it's true...

You really are... his son.

Adeola steps forward, sword pointed at the fallen king.

ADEKUNLE (CONT'D)

I knew... you'd come for me one day.

(he breathes heavily)

That's why I hunted your name... why I feared your shadow.

ADEKUNLE falls.

His crown rolls from his head—clinks on the stone floor. He draws one final breath…

…and is gone.

EXT. OJORA PALACE – COURTYARD – MOMENTS LATER

The rebel army storms through the gates, led by Yemi, Bayo, Morenike, Moremi and the others. The guards surrender, dropping weapons as the Ojora banner falls.

YEMI

(raising his sword)

The palace is ours!

CHEERS erupt through the ranks.

Femi and Damilola, bloodied but alive, burst through the main corridor with Ayomide. They see the open throne room doors—and the silhouette of Adeola, standing tall over Adekunle's corpse.

---

INT. THRONE ROOM – CONTINUOUS

Adeola picks up the fallen crown.

He looks down at it for a long moment.

Not with greed. Not with pride.

But with the weight of generations on his shoulders.

Bayo and Yemi step in, slowing beside him.

Morenike joins, placing her hand on Adeola's arm gently.

Morenike

It's over.

Yemi

The tyrant is no more.

Bayo

And the king… has returned.

Adeola doesn't speak. He steps forward, turns toward the throne.

The rebel banner rises behind him, placed by Ayomide.

FADE OUT:

THE WAR IS WON.

THE BLOODLINE RESTORED.

THE TRUE KING BEGINS
