The hivemind is conquering for me?

Chapter 454: Surprise Guest

On the streets of an alien world he walked. A cloak wrapped tightly around his form like a shield against the primitive eyes of its inhabitants. The aliens he walked past. Skinny, brittle, could easily be snapped like a twig.

Even those that had augmented their weak flesh with machinery were using material he used to bend for strength training as an infant in his crèche. Not only were the alien inhabitants flimsily weak, but their structures were laughable. Made up of glass and a composite material? Where was the structural integrity?

Even forgoing the structural integrity, the mere shape of the buildings was an abomination. Simple squares, the shape for war forts, not homes. Where was the creative liberty? Where were the awe inspiring towers and pillars? The artistic integrity of the species?

This place disgusted him, how these primitive barbarians were considered a threat baffled him. Sure they bred like a Xlaniti during mating season and there were trillions of them, but they really did seem totally inept compared to his glorious form.

He looked at the device in his hand to stop his mind from thinking needless thoughts, he was close. Around this building's corner was the street he was looking for.

He was disgusted with this place still with all the broken down buildings, from the report he was given, this planet was having a large war in its southern hemisphere having a colossal gang war, but that was not happening near here, leaving him confused by the state of the buildings.

"Barbarians." He growled to himself, licking his snout before making his way down the street. A line had formed outside of his target building which was troublesome as he saw no other entrance. He needed to get inside and espionage was not one of his strong suits.

Fortunately, he had two allies in position ready to create an altercation. As he approached the door to the building, he clicked a button on the device in his hand, bringing attention to those waiting in place.

Two people began sprinting down the street towards the club. "Come back here you thieving bitch!" A male yelled as he chased a female. The female said nothing, but looked back with a smile on her face.

She must have lost her balance and drifted off course as she began tumbling, crashing into one of the bouncers of the club at a full sprint. As the two of them went crashing to the floor, the second bouncer came in to intervene and aid his buddy, but as he went to get the woman off his partner, he got punched hard by a running fist.

The woman then took the opportunity to get up and run away as well, leaving none the wiser that a large cloaked figure managed to slink past the two human bouncers unprovoked. 'Trivial.'

As he entered the establishment, he was pleasantly surprised to find a contrast to the pathetic excuse for a world outside. There was a touch of class in this building's interior design, a touch of something more beyond the usual primitive grunting of the aliens that reside here.

There was detail and structure in a way he could appreciate. Columns spread out in a way that were not only for support, but for intricate decoration, He had the suspicious feeling that the interior of this establishment was a facsimile of another location, only with the flair and touches that the barbarians could appreciate.

He didn't want to bring attention to himself so he kept to the edges of the establishment as he checked the information his allies gave him. Judging from the observation, the target spent a lot of his time in a VIP suite.

He looked over and spotted the VIP section on the other side of the club and made his way over. He still had his hood up, protecting almost his entire face, but in the dimly lit club, it was akin to wearing a shroud of darkness.

As he made it to the VIP section, he began skulking. Checking through each door's window. After seeing a few comical sights and the naked rear of one of the disgusting females, he eventually found his target. There he was, engaged in an intimate kiss with another female with purple hair.

There were others inside the suite as well. For the first time since being smuggled into the planet, he had a twinge of fear. He knew at least the man inside that room was a threat, on Tellorix, that would mean his concubines would be of similar strength. He wanted to assume he was wrong, that they were all just weak fleshy aliens, but he suspected different.

He only had his claws to defend himself if things went wrong, he hoped his master was right about this man as he was not sure if he would make it out of the club if an altercation broke out.

Taking a deep breath, he licked the sides of his snout to break his nerves and opened the door to the suite.

"Archon Apollo Lambdason?"

Breaking my kiss with Orchid, I looked towards the door where a powerful figure was standing, hiding his face behind a hood. "Yes?" I replied curiously, as I could feel the suspicion of my loved ones around me towards the intruder.

As the figure removed his hood and cloak, I went wide eyed. A large bare chested lizard man was standing before me, his Psionic blue eyes glaring at me with a wary intensity. The three horns and the short snout were prominent features that jogged a memory.

"!!!"

"Holy shit! I remember you!" I said standing up in shock. "You were the dude next to the fallen god! Holy shit! Oh fuck she isn't here is she!?!" Rekosh watched as those present in the room initiated defensive stances, prepared for anything.

The only one that didn't move was a darker toned human with green eyes who was looking at him amused, as though curious as to what was going to happen next. Rekosh felt a tug on the back of his mind as he stared into those eyes, but quickly pulled himself free to attempt to cease the current hostilities.

"My Seer is not with me Archon of Spartari. And I come in peace. I request you allow me to speak on her behalf before pointless violence erupts." The big Lizard looked sincere enough, though he could have looked angry and I would not have been able to tell the difference.

"So you aren't here to attack me? Well that's a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Please, have a seat, grab a drink. I don't know the protocol to follow when meeting with one of your species, so I apologise for any offence I might give."

I then sat down, but Orchid and Sophia were still standing up on guard. "Girls, sit." I decreed, causing the two of them to plant firmly on the seats, glaring daggers at the exotic meat. Rekosh nodded his head at the display and stated.

"You hold a strong position over your females, most respectable Archon and worry not about protocol, you have already done much more than is expected from your people towards mine. Especially suppressing your hatred, I can't even see it within you, your partners however..."

"Oh, Orchid here hates everything outside of these walls and Sophia is clearly annoyed as you managed to sneak into her club looking like that. She runs a tight ship here so she your presence is an affront. As for me? I have no enmity for your species, I was raised outside Spartari Dogma."

The skin above the Lizards eye raised slightly, I assumed if he had an eyebrow it would have been akin to it raising. "Oh? Is that so? Then let me introduce myself, one of equal mind. My name is-

"-Rekosh, I am curious? How has Aeletha been since she recovered from her mantling? She got stronger didn't she?" Onyx said with a smirk on her face, causing the Lizard to turn his attention from the Archon to the woman with a look of shock and anger on his face.

"How?- No! You will not address her so formally! How dare you!" Rekosh stood up, causing me to glare at my trouble maker. "Babe. Stop antagonising our guest or I'll put you over my knee again like last week! In fact, everyone out. I will talk to our guest on my own."

The three present looked at me concerned for a moment before I doubled down and pointed to the door in a stern tone. "Out." Orchid and Sophia got up, albeit reluctantly and walked away, glaring at Rekosh as they left. Onyx stayed sitting for a moment longer, her eyes beginning to glow Psionic green as they matched the Psionic blue of Rekosh's.

"Onyx." I relayed through our bond in a tone that stopped her next train of thought and caused her to giggle. "Oh fine, as much as I enjoyed it, I don't want to get spanked again." She then addressed Rekosh one last time.

"Rekosh, be a good egg and tell my Psionic sister I look forward to meeting her again soon." She then winked and disappeared before Rekosh's very eyes. He didn't even blink and she just vanished.

As he turned to me with a look of shock, I pointed to the other side of the booth and requested.

"Please, sit. Let's start over without the hostilities and shock. I am most curious as to why you are here after all. It's not everyday a Starforged comes looking for me."
