The Golem Mage

Chapter 350: Rest In Eternal Peace (Estypen).

Arthur and the rest of the gang had arrived at the academy city gates some time ago, but their worry grew as Alec still hadn't returned.

Nevertheless, they decided to hold onto their faith and wait for him inside the city, In that moment, it seemed like all the mages around were observing them.

The Gordons clansmen had gained quite a reputation as troublemakers in the Abyss, having earned the title after only two visits.

Even Terran had only earned this name after numerous visits to the Abyss, but now even his disciples had received the same title as him due to their involvement in the death of countless second Dimensional creatures in just two visits.

Each visit of there's was marked by intense battles that resulted in a significant decline in the number of low-ranking second Dimension fighters.

Frustrated, Arthur couldn't help but express his feelings.

"That boy Alec always takes all the risks alone, Does he think we can't help him at all?" He punched the wall beside him in frustration.

"What do you think?, In my view, we've been holding Alec back for too long, He doesn't need us; he's a whole team all by himself. It's time we allow him to walk his path alone while we find our own paths to grow stronger and be ready to help him if he ever needs us in the future."

Brandon finally broke his silence and shared his opinion.

Pale couldn't believe his ears. "I thought you were mute!"

They hadn't expected Brandon, who rarely spoke, to deliver such a powerful speech.

Agnes tried to lift their spirits.

"Let's all stay positive, I believe Alec is okay and he will return soon, Let's give him twenty-four hours; I'm sure by then he will have dealt with whoever or whatever has him occupied."

Suddenly, a loud bang interrupted Agnes's statement.

They instinctively looked up and realized that the Academy city energy shield had been opened all the way to the seventh layer.

Despite the loud explosion and the immense power that stuck, it had not managed to affect the city or breach its defences in the slightest.

As the group of mages near the city gates wondered what could have gone wrong and who would have the audacity to attack the academy's city , the human mage guards stationed atop the gates grew alert.

Suddenly, a green light flashed by and entered through the barrier, shocking everyone present.

This was not supposed to happen, but they quickly regained their composure as they beheld the figure that materialized from the green light.

Clad in the academy's robe with the insignia, the person appeared to be human.

As they continued to stare in astonishment, another booming sound echoed, diverting their attention to the energy shield of the city being vigorously struck by two orcs.

While many mages might not recognize the man who had entered through the barrier, the guard mages and the Gordons clansmen were well aware of his identity.

He was the captain who had coerced them into revealing the location of the mines, seeking to claim all the benefits for himself in order to gain recognition from the academy.

"Judging by the situation, it seems that bastard hasn't managed to gain control of the mines yet, that means we can still go and steal from there, right?"

Arthur greedily rubbed his hands together, revealing his bandit-like nature as a glint of excitement shone in his eyes.

Wack!

Turning abruptly,

"Who did that? Who was it?" Arthur shouted after finding out he was struck at the back of his head.

Agnes held her ground and confronted him.

"You were just talking about not entering the Abyss anytime soon, and now you're suggesting stealing from a mine that seems to be under the combined control of Orcs and plant lifeforms, whose leaders are determined to kill our leader, Is that what you think is wise?"

Arthur scratched the back of his head, unable to retaliate against Agnes due to an unspoken agreement that she held a superior position after Alec.

It was the unwritten rule in the group, they all understood that she was the second in command.

Although Alec may be more closer to him and Brandon, but Alec still recognized Agnes' potential.

"And come to think of it, I find it suspicious that the Root and the Orc chief were able to discover our actually location, and at the same time. Especially when their main focus is supposed to be the mine," Agnes expressed her concerns.

"I have a feeling that the captain had a hand in whatever happened to us. If not, he wouldn't have been outside the city since captains are typically needed within the city for its protection,"

Agnes concluded quickly as she gazed at the captain levitating in the air, issuing orders to the black-armoured guard mages on top of the city gates.

--

"No, not that one! Get the Spirit Dragon Lance Launcher ready, Those are Tier 6 Orcs, and we need something powerful to kill them,"

The captain shouted to the mages, as the Orcs continued to batter their weapons against the city barriers.

"But sir, we are already low on energy and that would deplete half of our energy for the day, and the shield would become unstable if continuously attacked,"

A brave mage dared to question the captain's orders.

"Shut up! You have no right to question my orders. Shoot them out now," the captain roared, causing the mage he had shouted at to look at him with blood-red eyes from under his helmet.

"What are you staring at?, Either carry out my orders or get the fuck off this building, You are relieved of your duties," the captain coldly rebuked the mage and slapped him, before turning towards the remaining guard mages in charge of shooting the Spirit Dragon Lance.

"What are you waiting for? Aim and fire,"

The captain ordered, as the guards near the machine mounted on top of the city gate repositioned it to target the two fleeing Orcs, who had escaped the moment they saw the dragon lance pointed at them.

Bangggg!

A deafening sound echoed, giving the impression that thunder was about to strike down.

As the Lance, glowing in golden light, broke through the barrier reducing its energy and swiftly pursuing the two Orcs who seemed to be running for their lives.

That was until three other Orcs suddenly emerged, catching everyone by surprise.

One of them confidently swung his club in his hands, causing it to clash against the lance with a thunderous noise, sending out sparks in all directions.

The clash was so intense until the lance eventually lost its power and fell to the ground.

The captain's gaze turned to the three new Orcs, their presence immediately felt through the release of their formidable auras that they didn't bother to cover.

Two of them emitted a powerful Tier 6 aura, while the one in the middle with a club emanated a peak Tier 7 aura.

Witnessing such a formidable line-up, even the captain realized he had made a grave mistake.

With the barriers' energy now significantly lower than before, if attacked by five High rank Orcs, it was only a matter of time before they would break through.
