The Game Merchant Who Started from the Ninja World

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: New Product – Random Reincarnation Jar

Chapter 9: New Product – Random Reincarnation Jar

"This is... a grand prize worth two million."

Tsunade hesitated for a moment, conscience pricking at her slightly. She didn't feel good about accepting something of such value from a stranger.

Sure, she had a mountain of gambling debt—but that was all owed to crooked merchants and greedy nobles, so she still considered herself a good girl.

Fang Yi waved it off casually. "Don't worry about it. I'm the owner of the jar lottery. I can make as many of those plushies as I want—anytime."

Tsunade froze, blinking, then her eyes widened in shock. "Wait, you're the one who's been voted the most ruthless merchant by the Five Great Nations for four years running?"

"That's me—but I'm not a ruthless merchant."

Fang Yi rejected the title outright. He considered himself a proper entrepreneur.

With confirmation, Tsunade stuffed the plushie into her pocket without hesitation. A merchant that black-hearted deserved to be robbed blind.

She sneered. "What a shameless claim."

Seeing him in person only reignited her anger. She had lost millions to that damn jar lottery, and all she'd gotten were trash-tier toys like those useless minotaur figurines.

"Thank you for your generous contributions to the people of the Five Great Nations."

Fang Yi explained patiently, "Each jar you purchase—part of the proceeds go to feeding underprivileged civilians. The full name of our business is the Five Nations Welfare Jar Lottery."

Tsunade hadn't expected that. If what he said was true, then maybe this guy wasn't entirely rotten.

Still, she huffed, "Tch, who knows if you're telling the truth."

"It's definitely true."

And in that, Fang Yi wasn't lying. Originally, he'd just wanted to make enough money to survive in the shinobi world. But the profits kept snowballing beyond his expectations.

Since he only planned to stay five years, there wasn't much use hoarding money. Most of it had been donated year after year.

In this war-torn shinobi world, the ninjas sacrificed their lives on the front lines, but in the shadows, common civilians were bled dry by the daimyo and warlords to keep the war machine running.

Fang Yi didn't have some grand sense of heroism. He wasn't about to burn himself out to light up the world. But if he could help within his means, he would.

"Our welfare jars always have strictly controlled prize probabilities. We make sure buyers don't lose too much. Even if you don't hit the jackpot, you can sell the plushies and recover your costs. You won't go bankrupt."

Fang Yi displayed the elegance of a businessman.

Tsunade's face stiffened. As much as she hated to admit it, her luck was just plain awful. All she ever pulled were the lowest-tier base-model minotaur chieftains.

Noticing her expression, Fang Yi politely added, "My apologies. I didn't expect a customer to be so unlucky they'd lose even their hotel money."

Do you want to die?

Tsunade fumed silently, but she couldn't exactly argue—he was right.

Still, since he'd given her the Bunny Teemo plush, she'd let it slide.

Fang Yi patted the silver-haired loli on the head. The little one took the hint and pulled out another ceramic jar from her pocket.

Just like the plushie jars, this was one of Fang Yi's new creations.

These jars could absorb aura and Origin, and the rewards inside were randomized. Depending on the type of aura they absorbed, they could produce different items.

For example, if a player killed a gargoyle, there was a chance the monster would drop a jar. The jar would absorb its aura and might then contain something like a Gargoyle Staff or other related item.

Only giving reward points had become too monotonous. These jars added an element of fun and surprise to hunting corrupted creatures.

In the shinobi world, the five Reincarnation Towers hadn't been activated yet. Once someone defeated a corruption-source boss, the next version update of the game would launch them.

These towers would unlock features like the Auction House and Arena, and they would become the first line of interaction between the game and reality.

Fang Yi himself would appear in the shinobi world as the Auction House owner.

"As a token of apology, I'd like to give you this unreleased Reincarnation Jar."

"Reincarnation Jar?"

Tsunade's eyes lit up. Even though she'd just won the Bunny Teemo plush, a true gambler never passed up another shot at a prize.

"Lady Tsunade!"

Shizune sighed, facepalming as she watched Tsunade get reeled in yet again.

Tsunade accepted the jar with a loud laugh. "If someone's offering compensation, it'd be rude to refuse."

She gave it a light squeeze.

To her surprise, the fragile-looking jar didn't crack.

Her brows furrowed. Even without using chakra, she was still a Kage-level powerhouse. As someone from the Senju Clan, her raw strength could crush stone like dry twigs. But this jar didn't even budge?

Fang Yi, ever thoughtful, explained, "The Reincarnation Jar is special. It can't be broken by force. Just reach in, and you'll draw out an item."

Really now?

Tsunade eyed him carefully. She couldn't sense any chakra from him. His gait and delicate hands also didn't resemble a trained shinobi.

It was habit for ninjas—when faced with strange people, the first thing they checked was whether or not they were shinobi.

"Well, in that case…"

Tsunade didn't overthink it. She reached into the jar and felt around.

Her hand emerged holding a translucent, pearly-white orb. Inside it floated a tattered booklet, densely covered in text.

Pop.

The bubble burst, and the ragged booklet shrank to palm-size, landing softly in her hand.

"A sealing technique?"

Tsunade's eyes narrowed. She hadn't sensed any chakra from the item at all.

Fang Yi smiled politely. "That's a feature of the Reincarnation Jar. Items too large to fit are specially compressed before being stored."

"This is still a prototype, though. If you, the customer, have any suggestions, we're happy to take feedback."

Tsunade was the first person to test the jar.

If her experience was good, Fang Yi would release it in the game as a potential quest reward.

She gave him a long look before turning her eyes to the booklet in her hand, frowning. "Is this someone's notes?"

As her eyes landed on the pages, a glowing screen popped up.

[Griffin's Fleshcraft Notes (Fragment)]

Type: Item

Effect: Upon reading, you can learn the Tier-2 Corruption Source werewolf Griffin's fleshcraft technique – Viscera Suture.

Note: After suffering from silver bullet corrosion to his organs, Griffin developed a technique for stitching internal wounds.

Fang Yi glanced at the item and explained, "It's a special medical method. It allows internal organs to be stitched up rapidly."

Tsunade's brows drew tighter. Her heart clenched as if someone had squeezed it in their fist.

A long-buried memory surfaced—blood-soaked and painful.

During the Great Shinobi War, Dan Katō had suffered internal injuries and bled out after an enemy attack. Not even her mastery of medical ninjutsu could save him.

"I see."

Her face remained calm as she flipped through the fragile notes with slender fingers.

She didn't believe there was any method that could quickly repair internal organs.

As one of the strongest medical ninjutsu users in the world, Tsunade had full confidence in her knowledge.

The small thread of goodwill she had felt toward Fang Yi was gone—replaced by resentment. Not just because she thought he was a liar, but because the item had reopened an old, deep wound.

"Lady Tsunade."

Shizune, keenly aware of Tsunade's emotional shift, shot Fang Yi a wary glare.

As Dan Katō's niece, Shizune was very familiar with that dark chapter of Tsunade's past. With her own medical expertise, she immediately accused, "There's no such medical technique. Are you trying to pass off witch doctor nonsense as fact?"

"Shizune!"

Tsunade's voice rang out, low but forceful.

Her fingers trembled as she stared at the torn notes, her expression caught between shock, confusion, and something close to fear.

Based on her professional instincts—

The stitching technique described in the booklet was actually… viable.
