Chapter 31: Chapter 32: Attacked Again
After seeing Kaiden off and the plane had disappeared from sight, Ryker and Aiden returned to the car, accompanied by the driver who had brought them to the hanger. As they settled into the vehicle, Ryker took his position in the front passenger seat, while Aiden sat in the back, feeling the now cold and empty seat that Kaiden once occupied.
As they drove away from the hanger, the driver noticed a car tailing them. At first, he thought it might be a coincidence, but as the car continued to follow them, he grew increasingly suspicious.
"we've got a problem," the driver said urgently glancing at Ryker.
Ryker's head snapped towards the driver, "What is it?"
"We're being followed," the driver stated, his eyes flicking towards the rearview mirror.
Ryker's expression turned grim as he turned to look out the side window. Aiden, sensing something was amiss, leaned forward, his eyes scanning the road behind them.
As they approached a curve in the road, the driver suddenly swerved, taking a sharp turn onto a side road. The car behind them hesitated for a moment before following.
"We need to lose them," Ryker shouted, "we can't let them block us or have us pin to a corner."
The driver nodded, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. He took another sharp turn, this time onto a dirt road that wound through the woods.
Aiden held on tight as the car bounced along the rough road. He could hear the sound of the car behind them, its tires screeching as it took the turns.
The driver suddenly slammed on the brakes, sending the car skidding to a stop. Ryker was out of the car in an instant, his eyes scanning the surrounding woods.
"What's going on?" Aiden asked, his voice shaking slightly.
"We're under attack Aiden, just Stay in the car ,you're the one they're after."
Aiden's eyes widened in surprise and fear ,but he nodded at Ryker's word with his eyes fixed on the woods, his heart racing with fear. He knew that they were in grave danger, and he wasn't sure if they would make it out alive.
Ryker stood in the middle of the road with his claws extended and wait for the car that was approaching them at a fast pace, just as the car was about to hit him he shifted to the side and used his claws to tear the front and back tyre of the car.
Not expecting their tyre to burst the driver couldn't control the car and it spin out of control hitting a nearby tree truck.
Ryker smiled to himself and make his way back to the car, but just as he was about to open the door his ears perked up and he heard the sounds of running from both side of the room, before he knew what was happening a large horde of rogue wolves emerged from the surrounding woods, their eyes fixed on the vehicle with a fierce hunger. They began to circle the car, their claws extended as they started to tear at the metal and punch at the glass.
Aiden's eyes widened in terror as the rogues surrounded them, their snarls and growls filling the air. He was frozen in fear, unable to move or speak.
Ryker quickly assessed the situation and shouted to the driver, "get us out of here now!"
The driver nodded, maneuvering the car to shake off the attacking rogues. He floored it, speeding down the dirt road as the rogues gave chase.
Aiden's fear turned to panic as the car bounced along the rough road, the rogues hot on their heels.
Sensing Aiden panic , Ryker turn to face him and try to calm and reassured him. "Aiden, I've got you, they won't be able to get to us. Just stay calm and hang on."
Aiden nodded, taking a deep breath as he tried to calm down. Ryker handed him a phone. "Call your father, tell him we're under attack. We need reinforcements, now."
Aiden quickly dialed the number, his hands shaking as he waited for his father to answer. When Alpha Thane's voice came on the line, Aiden quickly explained the situation.
"Dad, we're under attack! Ryker and I are in the car, but there are rogues everywhere! We need help, please!"
Alpha Thane's voice was calm ,but Aiden could hear the underlying urgency. "Aiden, stay calm. I'm sending reinforcements now. Just stay in the car and keep Ryker close. Help is on the way."
As Aiden listened, he heard his father shouting orders at the warriors and guards, telling them to get into the cars and move out. Aiden felt a surge of relief, knowing that help was on the way.
He hung up the phone and turned to Ryker, who was watching him with a steady gaze. "Help is coming," he said, his voice shaking with relief.
Ryker nodded, "We just need to hold on until then."
Alpha Thane's eyes were fixed on his phone as he try to locate Aiden's car through the GPS tracker installed in the car, his mind was racing with worry as he searched for the location. He was accompanied by his most trusted warriors, who were all geared up and ready for battle.
As they drove through the winding roads, Alpha Thane's convoy finally caught sight of Aiden's car speeding towards them. The convoy quickly split, allowing Aiden's car to pass through.
After Aiden's car sped by, Alpha Thane's warriors stepped out of their vehicles and formed a line, standing shoulder to shoulder. They waited, their eyes fixed on the rogue wolves that were running towards them.
The rogue werewolves, still in pursuit of Aiden's car, halted their chase as they caught sight of the Silvermist Pack warriors. They snarled and growled, their eyes flashing with anger.
Without hesitation, the warriors charged forward, their movements swift as they battle with the rogue werewolves, each warrior facing two or more rogue wolves and going for immediate kill.
The rogue werewolves were taken by surprise and they were quickly overwhelmed, the fight was intense but short-lived, with the sliver-mist warriors emerging victorious. They had killed all of the rogue wolves, except for one, who was spared for interrogation purposes.
Alpha Thane approached the surviving rogue wolf, his eyes blazing with anger. "You're going to tell me everything that I need to know ," he growled.
The rogue wolf cowered, his tail between his legs and his head bowed. He knew he was beaten, and that his only hope for survival was to cooperate,if they Wish to let him live .
Alpha Thane nodded to his warriors, and they quickly bound the rogue wolf's hands and feet. "Let's take him back to the pack house and throw him in the dungeon." Alpha Thane said, his eyes never leaving the rogue wolf's face. "We'll extract every last bit of information from him."
As they led the rogue wolf away, Alpha Thane's thoughts turned to Aiden, who was safely on his way back to the pack. He knew that his son was shaken and scared. He know he had to do something about Aiden's matter because he can't stay locked at the pack house forever.
