Taming His Demon Lover

Chapter 16: A nightmare come to life

"Don't stop fighting, I'll double your fee," screamed Squire James from the back.

Followed by the sound of his whip cracking in the air as Squire James callously wrapped it around a man that tried to escape.

The scream of pain from the fool who tried to run off.

Robin finally reached Andras' side and his eyes ignored the commotion as his gaze locked with the demon who was methodically causing mayhem in the streets.

"Don't move," he said to Robin who remained still like a statue in response.

Andras went over to Squire James and dragged the whip out of the owner's hands and then he turned it on him.

The old reprobate blubbered like a baby before the whip even touched his flesh.

Proving the former could not handle what he dished out so eagerly to others.

At one point Andras held the whip so tightly around Squire James neck that bile had risen up in his throat and he started to make loud gagging noises.

Disgusted, with a flick of his wrist Andras uncoiled the whip around his neck.

The loosening motion was followed by a hard kick to the stomach that sent James flying and he landed in a heap of trash, knocking over trash cans, and sent rats scurrying out.

The dark eyed savage motioned to Robin to come over to where he stood once more.

Robin looked behind him to see if he was talking to Malachi.

He had to make certain that Andras wasn't signalling to someone else but when he looked behind him there wasn't anyone else standing, just a pile of corpses littering the streets.

Andras definitely meant him alright and even though Robin's skin crawled and his stomach lurched.

Robin moved this time around when Andras crooked his finger at him again.

He noticed the closer that Robin got to Andras the deeper his scowl became.

After dealing death to two thirds of the mercenaries while leaving the rest for Malachi to chase after, the barbarian was pretty much not in a good mood.

Robin could still feel that his ankle was still slightly sprained or he would have long since run and hid somewhere.

He wasn't even aware that he had slowed down and was dragging his feet until Andras shoved him out of the way of a man with a knife.

After Robin heard the flicker of the whip the man yelped in pain and the knife fell from his right hand to the ground.

The man had nearly stabbed Robin in the back, in alarm Robin picked up the pace and didn't stop running to Andras.

He was determined to get to his side before his heart stopped beating in his chest.

When he reached the tower of strength, he had to pinch it, to make sure Andras was real and this wasn't a nightmare come to life.

Robin tilted his head back and stared up at those piercing dark grey eyes, he was really alright and it was those hypnotic eyes of his that saved him from insanity.

Andras was like a buoy in the raging sea, it was strange but the longer Robin clung to his side the safer he felt.

Morning had come, they had been up all night and Robin had not slept a wink, he was still beaten and exhausted from earlier events.

Now Robin felt as if he was floating amongst the clouds.

Amongst the clouds Robin saw Andras looking like a bronzed God standing under the halo of the sun.

He looked at Andras and smiled. "I knew you weren't meant to be a demon, you finally got your halo."

Suddenly Robin was weightless.

Andras caught him before he collapsed to the ground.

He made a mental note to feed him lots of spinach and coconut water in the future before Andras tossed Robin over his shoulder.

While Andras was dealing with Robin's hallucination that bastard Squire James used the distraction to crawl away.

Andras felt an overwhelming urge to go after the bastard who was cowering behind a nearby barrel.

Squire James had plan to take Malachi hostage and use him to make his get away

He need not have bothered because the bastard ran straight into Zagan's fist then with a snap of his neck he was dead.

Zagan ruffled the exhausted Malachi's disheveled hair some more, "it's just like you both to leave the rest of us out of the fun."

Before Malachi could even catch his breath, the second in command was already bossing him around, "go to the ship and tell some of the crew to come over and get rid of the bodies."

Malachi didn't bother to argue with Zagan's orders because he was the kind to act first and ask questions later and he could never win in a fight against him.

Zagan couldn't believe his eyes as he stared at the couple before him.

He mentally recorded everything in front of him because Zagan knew the crew would not want him to skimp on the details later.

A suspicious grin widened on his face, Zagan was already thinking of the embellishments and how he was going to tell the ending, too.

The demon warlord cradling his passed out bride like he was a delicate baby while all around them blood, bones and guts lay scattered across the ground.

"Is he alright?"

Zagan asked Andras.

"He fainted."

"You must be exhausted. I can carry the boy if you'd like?" offered Zagan.

Andras didn't bother to answer him as they walked over to the pier.

Zagan noticed how gentle Andras was with the boy, whenever he touched the lad his hands lingered longer than necessary.

At one point he lightly pinched the boy's cheek to watch it redden, the boy would react by letting out a little sigh and nuzzle closer to Andras' chest.

"What is the boy's name?"

"Ask him yourself, he's awake now."

Robin turned red with embarrassment since he didn't normally faint so easily.

How did the burly giant even know that he had awakened?

Still holding onto Andras' chest he leaned forward slightly. "I am Robin. And you are?"

Zagan and Andras exchanged looks but Andras just shrugged his shoulders.

"My name is Zagan and I taught this one everything he knows."

Robin said shyly, "That's good, I suppose. Thank you sir, for coming to help us, you did the world a favor when you killed that man earlier."

"As long as you make Lord Mulciber happy for the rest of his life, no need to thank me."

"You know that we have to get married?" asked Robin incredulously.

Before Robin could hear Zagan's response, Andras' muscular arms were suddenly around his waist again.

He carried Robin princess style across a singular thick piece of plyboard incline that led to a ship.

One false step and they would fall from a great height into the icy cold waters below.

When they finally reached the deck Robin thanked the heavens his prayers were answered and his feet touched solid ground again.

Next thing he knew Robin was separated from Andras and found himself completely surrounded by a bunch of men that looked like pirates.
