Chapter 480: Chapter 482: The Defeat of the Five Great Shinobi Villages (Conclusion)

In the Shinobi world, chakra enables feats that even advanced technology struggles to achieve. The coordinated attack by the Five Great Shinobi Villages on Akatsuki was an impressive feat, especially considering the differences in leadership and strategies between the villages. Ordinarily, synchronizing an attack like this would have been nearly impossible. However, by pooling the sensory ninjas from each village and establishing a joint command center, the coordination became as seamless as a strategy game where the entire map is visible. The sensory ninjas allowed the commanders to see the entire battlefield clearly, enabling precise troop movements and tactical decisions. In such a scenario, the Five Great Villages never imagined that they would lose. Even knowing Nagato possessed the Rinnegan, they believed they could at least inflict significant casualties, just as Iwagakure had once worn down the Third Raikage.

But what they had not anticipated was the devastating blow to Kumogakure before the full-scale battle had even begun. Akatsuki, with just a single person—Konan—had nearly obliterated the entire Kumogakure force.

In the command center, the sensory ninjas were some of the most skilled from the Five Great Villages. Yet even they couldn't estimate the sheer number of explosive tags used in Konan's assault. The resources used for this attack were so vast that they could have funded the five nations for years under normal circumstances. Of course, if someone attempted to sell billions of explosive tags, their value would plummet to next to nothing.

"Bad news! There's a massive chakra reaction from the Suna forces—it's Tsuchigumo Hotaru!" one of the sensory ninjas shouted, drawing the attention of everyone in the command center.

"What?!" The gathered strategists—Shikaku Nara, Elder Chiyo, Ao, Mabui, and others—immediately reacted in shock. Moments later, an earth-shaking explosion echoed through the air, accompanied by a blinding flash of light on the horizon.

"Damn it," Shikaku muttered. As the light faded, everyone present understood what had happened. The forbidden technique they had planned to use against Amegakure had been turned against them. Despite their combined efforts, they had already lost two major forces before the real battle had even begun.

"How did they do it? The Flying Thunder God Technique? That's impossible." Shikaku, who was aware of Minato's Edo Tensei revival, had already made preparations in case the Fourth Hokage appeared. He had positioned sensory ninjas and suicide guards around Hotaru, ensuring that any sign of Minato would trigger a premature detonation of the forbidden technique. There should have been no way for Akatsuki to transport Hotaru without the command center detecting it.

But what Shikaku didn't realize was that Daniel's Shadow Clone had simply opened a massive secret portal beneath Hotaru, sending her and the surrounding guards directly into the midst of Sunagakure's forces. The chaotic chakra from the forbidden technique had masked the energy from Daniel's portal, making it invisible to the sensory ninjas.

"Get a line to the three Kages on the front lines immediately!" Shikaku ordered after a brief pause, instructing the sensory team to connect with the Tsuchikage, Mizukage, and Hokage. He needed to inform them of the situations in Kumogakure and Sunagakure and decide the next course of action—whether to fight or retreat.

Shikaku and the other strategists were only advisors, not the final decision-makers.

"There's no retreating for us. Don't tell me you haven't noticed we're facing the enemy," Mei Terumi, the Mizukage, was the first to respond.

After Daniel froze the waters around the Kirigakure forces, he hadn't immediately pressed the attack. Mei, cautious as ever, also held her forces in check. The Kirigakure shinobi feared Daniel's ice techniques, which neutralized their water-based attacks, stripping them of their natural advantage.

"We can't back down now. If our forbidden jutsu has been turned against us, then we have no choice but to fight," the Third Tsuchikage, Ohnoki, declared. For the Five Great Villages, this battle was a do-or-die situation. They couldn't afford to retreat. If they couldn't defeat Amegakure now, they would never get another chance.

"I agree," Tsunade added.

Even with the intel she had received from Minato, Tsunade wasn't ready to surrender. After all, Konoha was her grandfather's creation, and she wasn't about to let it fall under her watch, no matter who the enemy was.

Just like Konoha's Will of Fire, the other villages had their own ideologies, such as Iwagakure's Stone Will. None of them were willing to see their villages destroyed.

"Lava Release: Lava Monster Jutsu!"

"So, it's going to be a fight after all," Daniel sighed as he deftly dodged Mei's acidic Lava Release. He had no interest in testing the limits of her powerful bloodline technique, which could even corrode Susanoo.

Mei's Lava Release was unlike the versions used by Kumogakure's Dodai, Iwagakure's Kurotsuchi, or even Naruto in the future. While many people had Lava Release, the type Mei wielded was unique to her. Whereas Dodai's Lava Release created a rubbery substance with excellent defensive properties, and Kurotsuchi's produced cement that could temporarily immobilize enemies, Mei's Lava Release emitted a powerful acidic substance capable of melting almost anything.

"The full-scale assault has begun, huh? I see." As Daniel prepared to counterattack, he received a transmission from one of his operatives. Like the Five Villages' command center, Akatsuki had set up its own network using modern technology. While they didn't have as many sensory ninjas as the Five Villages, with Karin's powerful chakra sensing abilities and their advanced tech, they were more than capable of tracking the battlefield's movements.

The Five Villages communicated using the Yamanaka clan's mind-link jutsu, while Akatsuki relied on technological methods.

"I'll leave this to the others then," Daniel thought, his body vanishing from Mei's view. With his current strength, Daniel could easily defeat the entire Kirigakure force, but doing so would undermine the preparations he had made.

"He's retreating?" Mei hesitated for a moment before signaling her forces to advance toward Amegakure.

"How unexpected to meet you all here," a voice remarked from atop a high platform overlooking Amegakure's lake. Twenty or so figures stood on the platform, many of them observing one another with a mixture of surprise and nostalgia.

"Well, well, Tobirama. Looks like your jutsu has been turned against you by your enemies," quipped a figure wrapped in bandages—none other than Mu, the Second Tsuchikage of Iwagakure.

Aside from Mu, present were the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju, the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third and Fourth Kazekages, the Third Raikage, the Second and Fourth Mizukages, and other past Kage. These were, of course, powerful individuals whom Daniel had resurrected using the Edo Tensei technique.

With materials acquired from Orochimaru and Obito, Daniel had summoned these elite ninja. Unlike Kabuto during the Fourth Great Ninja War, who prioritized quantity over quality, Daniel had focused on resurrecting only the most powerful shinobi, sending weaker souls back to the afterlife.

Currently, the Second and Third Hokages were under Daniel's complete control, unable to break free as they had in their previous resurrections. Only figures as powerful as Hashirama or Madara could resist Daniel's command now.

The Third Kazekage, meanwhile, had been reanimated using materials gathered from Sasori's human puppet of the Kazekage. Sasori had ensured that nothing was missing.

"This is going to be troublesome," muttered the Third Raikage, breaking the heavy silence that followed. The resurrected Kage, all of whom had fought for their villages, now found themselves facing a nightmarish situation: their own villages were under threat, and they had become pawns of the enemy.

"Of all the things to do," the Second Mizukage said nonchalantly, cleaning his ear as if he wasn't concerned about the current crisis.

"You..." The Second Tsuchikage glared at him in annoyance.

"What's your problem?" the Mizukage shot back.

These two had been at odds since their days as young ninja, and their rivalry had only intensified after they became Kage. In fact, Mu had been severely burned in one of their previous encounters, leaving him permanently bandaged.

Even as Kage, they had continued their feud, ultimately perishing together in their final battle.

"Are you not worried about your village? Do you not care if it's destroyed?" the Third Hokage asked the Mizukage.

"What's the point of worrying now? If the village is destroyed, it's because they were too weak to defend it. I left them with a perfectly intact village, and that's all that matters," the Second Mizukage responded nonchalantly.

"Enough. You have no right to criticize anyone. This jutsu was created by your village, after all," the Mizukage snapped back, silencing the Hokage. The tension was palpable as most of the resurrected Kage turned their disdainful gazes toward the Konoha shinobi.

Konoha wasn't the only village to have its past leaders

brought back. Every village had to deal with the grim reality of facing their ancestors in battle.

In Suna's case, however, their situation was particularly unfortunate. Only two former Kazekages were present, and both had difficult histories with their comrades. Among them was Pakura, the Scorch Release user who had been betrayed by the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa.

In fact, the only reason the resurrected Kazekage weren't fighting among themselves was that Daniel's control over them was absolute. Otherwise, Pakura would have already attacked Rasa for his betrayal.

As the leaders of the Five Villages exchanged grim looks, each weighed down by their village's hidden history, Daniel's Edo Tensei army split into four groups and advanced toward the remaining forces of Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Konohagakure, and Iwagakure.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of Konan's devastating attack, the surviving Raikage was boiling with rage. As the explosions ceased, the Fourth Raikage, now engulfed in his Lightning Armor, roared with fury and launched himself at Konan.

"Akatsuki, I'll kill you!"
