Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 611: Chapter 613: Efforts of All

Upon hearing the Martian Manhunter's words, Tony Stark fell silent, uncertain of what to do to help in such a situation. Meanwhile, an official, upset that Stark had ignored him, rushed forward to confront him...

With a "bang," the official's body was sent flying and landed roughly on the ground. The blow hadn't come from Tony Stark but from Pietro, who had just arrived.

"Of all times, you're still thinking of internal conflicts? Disgusting!" Pietro glared at the official, displeased. He hadn't used much force, but his casual strike was enough to put the official out of commission for days.

"You dare to attack a person!" Another official, familiar with the injured man, stepped forward to reprimand Pietro. Despite previous tensions between the Avengers and government agencies, the Avengers had never directly assaulted officials. Pietro's sudden action alarmed some officials, stirring feelings of dissatisfaction.

Even aware of the Avengers' power, the officials felt slighted, believing themselves to be the rightful representatives and rulers of humanity. Pietro's aggressive behavior seemed akin to rebellion.

However, some more rational officials sensed something amiss with the Avengers and believed they must possess information the officials were unaware of.

"Shut up!" One group of officials scolded the others, exchanging glances as they chose a representative to communicate with the Avengers. Eventually, Coulson was pushed forward. Despite his usually amiable nature, even Coulson felt uneasy facing the growing number of Avengers.

"Hello, Mr. Stark. Can you tell us what's happening here? Is it a threat to Earth? If so, we'd appreciate any information you could provide, as we're all part of this planet and might be able to help," Coulson said, trying to maintain a calm demeanor despite the tense atmosphere.

"Help? When you can't even figure out what's going on here? We're just watching, and you think you can do anything?" Johnny Storm scoffed before Tony Stark could respond, casting a disdainful glance at Coulson.

"You're just watching?" Coulson's eyes narrowed slightly, glancing at Martian Manhunter and Kara, whose expressions showed concern. SHIELD had a general estimate of the Avengers' power, placing them in Hulk's league. But Martian Manhunter and Kara were enigmas, their strengths undetermined, adding to Coulson's unease.

"I know you have hidden extraordinary means within your agencies. If you really want to understand what's happening here, you'd better use your hidden cards because if things go wrong, you might not get another chance," Tony Stark interrupted Coulson, speaking to all the officials present.

"This isn't just alarmism. Let me put it this way: I don't know exactly what's happening, but this crisis is more terrifying than the previous one, where we feared Earth would be destroyed in battle. Do as you will!"

Tony Stark intentionally provoked the officials. The Avengers, while powerful, were newly formed and didn't match the accumulated resources and hidden means of the established agencies. Stark believed that these agencies possessed hidden cards, even though JARVIS couldn't trace them, as they existed beyond digital records.

Stark's confidence stemmed from the previous emergence of figures like Blue Marvel, Hellboy, and Hulk, who appeared without any official records. He deduced that the agencies' hidden assets were similarly well-concealed. However, these assets wouldn't be revealed unless absolutely necessary. Given the current situation, Stark hoped to prompt the officials to use their cards, possibly uncovering a way to locate Clark or access the hidden space.

"Are you... are you serious?" Coulson asked, his expression changing. He had initially sought to probe Stark but now felt that the Avengers were genuinely concerned about a significant threat.

Coulson's belief in Stark's words wasn't just based on the Avengers' expressions but also on the fact that if there was a serious crisis, it would indeed involve Earth's safety. However, the decision-makers weren't present; only field agents and mid-level officials were. The ultimate decision-makers, those who could authorize the use of hidden means, were absent, leaving Coulson and others in a difficult position.

Meanwhile, high-level decision-makers like Nick Fury were also in a dilemma, unsure whether to trust Stark's warning. Fury reviewed previous intel, noting the massive destruction caused by a fight involving the Saiyan and an unknown entity, which had led to significant unrest and suspicion among the agencies. The Saiyan's subsequent disappearance and sudden reappearance, coupled with the current situation, suggested a pattern involving other spaces or dimensions.

"Another space... it seems Stark and his team are also isolated outside this space, unable to enter. Otherwise, they wouldn't just be waiting," Fury thought, recognizing the seriousness of the situation.

"The decision to use hidden assets is not to be taken lightly. If exposed prematurely, they could provoke greed and competition among other agencies, and SHIELD's ability to safeguard them would be compromised," Fury pondered, weighing the risks of revealing their cards.

Similarly, other agency leaders hesitated, torn between the potential necessity of revealing their hidden strengths and the dangers of doing so. The fear of losing control over their assets and the possibility of internal strife among agencies made the decision even more difficult.

At the Avengers' location, Kara, visibly worried, asked the Martian Manhunter if he could access the hidden space.

"I can't. This isn't a mirror dimension but likely the work of another powerful being. My phasing ability is ineffective. Unless the space is weakened or breached from the inside, I can't enter," the Martian Manhunter replied, shaking his head.

"Do you think Robert... I mean, the Saiyan is in danger? And what about Superman?" Kara's concern grew, her voice filled with anxiety.

"If you can't reach Superman, he's likely inside as well. I don't know his power limits, but breaking through this space might not be easy," the Martian Manhunter said, trying to reassure her.

"However, the space remains intact, and there have been no other significant incidents on Earth, suggesting the Saiyan and Superman are okay," he added.

"So we're just going to wait?" Kara's frustration peaked, unable to see through the hidden space with her vision.

"I can't just wait!" Kara declared, disappearing and reappearing in the air. Determined to act, she unleashed her heat vision, the intense heat raising the temperature around her, aiming to disrupt the hidden space.

Nearby officials, alarmed by Kara's sudden action, retreated, watching her with apprehension. The area had already been devastated by Robert's energy waves, but Kara's heat vision threatened further destruction. It was the first time Kara had unleashed her power so recklessly.

"Just standing around isn't an option. We might find a way in if we try," Peter Parker, inspired by Kara, began generating electricity, sending Venom to scout for the space.

Remembering that Venom had arrived through a spatial rift, Peter hoped it might have a special connection to space and could find a clue.

With Peter taking action, other Avengers also stopped waiting and began their efforts, each using their abilities to probe or disrupt the hidden space. Tony Stark sighed, preparing to speak to the Martian Manhunter but stopped when he saw him fluctuating between solid and phased states.

"JARVIS! Gather all available data on space-related phenomena. I refuse to believe a physical space can elude me!" Tony Stark commanded, determined to find a scientific solution to locate the hidden space.

As the Avengers took action, some government agencies also decided to intervene, though they sought certain assurances before revealing their own hidden assets...
