Chapter 6: 06,Super Saiyan and Chef: Carlo's Unexpected Skill
"It smells so good!"
"I've been an angel for hundreds of millions of years, and it's the first time I've smelled something so delicious."
Whis closed his eyes, savoring the rich aroma as if immersed in the fragrance.
Meanwhile, Carlo had already placed four dishes on the dinner table.
"Hey, don't zone out over there; come over and eat!"
"Have a taste of my culinary skills."
Seeing Whis lost in the scent, Carlo spoke with an air of mock disgust.
Angels were pitifully unaware of the true beauty of food. Especially Whis. He was a true foodie but had never tasted anything truly spectacular.
"Uh... Um!"
After snapping out of his daze, Whis nodded enthusiastically, his head bobbing like a chicken pecking at rice.
With small but eager steps, he hurried toward the table.
Carlo couldn't help but scoff internally. A man over 1.8 meters tall walking with such tiny steps—it was almost too much to watch.
"Is... is this really a delicacy made by Lord Carlo?"
"I've never smelled anything like it before."
Once seated at the table, Whis leaned forward eagerly, sniffing the dishes with a childlike curiosity.
Heavenly.
The aroma alone was enough to tell him this was no ordinary meal.
"Of course."
"It's food from my hometown."
"When I have time, I'll take you to my hometown, where even better dishes await."
Carlo chuckled, watching Whis act like a "country bumpkin." He couldn't help but smile.
"Uh-huh."
"Then, let's go!"
Whis rubbed his hands together and dove into the food without hesitation. It was almost as though he'd completely forgotten his previous concerns about whether Carlo's cooking could poison him.
"Whoa..."
After tasting a piece of braised pork, Whis let out an exaggerated scream.
The shrill cry echoed throughout the entire Destruction God Realm.
Carlo jumped in alarm, worried that Whis might be seriously ill.
"What are you doing?! Are you okay?!"
"Is this some kind of blind rooster thing you're doing now?"
Carlo said in disgust, completely bewildered by Whis's over-the-top reaction.
Whis's expression was nothing short of hideous—his eyes filled with tears, his face contorted in joy. If anyone had seen him, they might've thought he had just consumed something utterly vile.
"Too... It's so delicious! It's so delicious that... it has completely deformed me."
"Truly superb."
Ignoring Carlo's disgust, Whis covered his cheeks, and another shrill voice escaped him. Then, he practically collapsed on the table, devouring the food like there was no tomorrow.
In just a few minutes, all four dishes and one soup were wiped clean.
"Hiccup..."
With a contented burp, Whis patted his stomach, still wearing a look of hunger on his face.
"How's it going?" Carlo asked knowingly, watching the gluttonous display.
"It's amazing; the best food I've ever had!"
"Hee-hee~~ I take back my previous doubts about Lord Carlo."
"I sincerely apologize for my past remarks."
Whis grinned widely, his voice full of sincerity (and maybe a touch of flattery).
"Lord Carlo, can you make a little more?"
He truly hadn't had enough. It felt as though he had devoured everything in a single sitting.
"It's stinky and shameless; I haven't eaten a bite yet!" Carlo rolled his eyes, clearly exhausted by Whis's antics.
This was supposed to be a special treat to reward Whis for all his training and care. Carlo wasn't a fan of spending hours in the kitchen, but he'd made the effort for this one moment.
"Okay, okay! You can't eat too much food at once."
Whis quickly responded, already regretting his earlier haste. His eyes now focused on Carlo with genuine admiration.
He hadn't expected Carlo to be such a talented cook—this was more than just strength training; this man was his best partner in this endless journey.
"By the way, Whis, I think I still need to practice the Ultra Instinct!"
After the lighthearted moments had passed, Carlo grew serious. Although his strength had improved greatly with the Super Saiyan Five form, mastering the Ultra Instinct would take his combat abilities to another level.
Carlo always had a bold idea: To cultivate the Ultra Instinct into his natural state. If he could integrate this into his base form, his strength would see a massive qualitative boost.
Whis, looking at Carlo with both curiosity and amusement, replied,
"Lord Carlo, you've already mastered the Super Saiyan Five form."
"The power and speed you're displaying in this form are not weaker than the Perfect Ultra Instinct!"
Even if someone mastered the Perfect Ultra Instinct, they would still struggle against Lord Carlo. So why was he still obsessed with training in Ultra Instinct?
"Because it's not just about strength," Carlo replied, looking determined.
"The Ultra Instinct requires a very high level of mental tranquility."
It demanded a state of total focus, free from all distractions. But after more than a year of training, Carlo had realized he wasn't suited to the Ultra Instinct training—much like the Gods of Destruction in other universes.
"Who would dislike becoming stronger?"
"Let's go wash the dishes!" Carlo suddenly interrupted, his mood shifting back to playful.
Although his Super Saiyan Five form was extremely powerful, it still wasn't enough to defeat a God of Destruction. There were still greater beings—angels, archpriests, even the King's bodyguard—that he couldn't surpass.
If he wanted to truly control his fate, he had to rise above them.
It wasn't going to be easy, but Carlo wasn't about to stop. Not now. Not ever.
The road ahead was long, but he would keep walking it.
