Chapter 514: Nathan's New Technique
Selena looked at Nathan while Anubis confirmed it. "They're coming. From the looks of it, they are approaching from three directions. Are they trying to bait us to go in the last direction to escape?"
"Do you know how many aliens there are?" Nathan asked while summoning Fenrir.
"I'm not sure. There are simply too many… no less than three hundred. But I'm afraid there are more than that."
Fenrir frowned. "No. It's like 500 aliens. There are some big ones from the steps."
"Is there a chance for them to just pass our location?"
"None. Some are shifting their direction toward us instead of somewhere else. It seems our location has been found. Not sure how they do it, though." Fenrir couldn't sense any presence nearby, so he wondered how the alien could locate them.
"Nevertheless, with them coming to us, we'll confront them head-on. I'm sure there are a lot of mature class aliens among them, so we'll have to kill it fast." Nathan crossed his arms.
"What if there's an ambush from the remaining direction?"
"There's definitely an ambush there, so if we run, we might not be able to escape. I mean, just look at that number. In the mine, we have to confront more than a thousand aliens from five mature class aliens and one mutant.
"If we think about it, there will definitely be more aliens coming from that last direction. However, if we can destroy them fast, we can escape through that path if necessary." Nathan clicked his tongue. "This is going to be tough."
Selena summoned all her familiars. "We are ready."
Nathan nodded. He led the group into the forest, not planning to get surrounded in an unfavorable position like a cave.
As expected, the alien seemed to be able to notice their movement.
"They're shifting their direction again, this time trying to encircle us," Fenrir warned them.
"Nidhogg, Jinwu. Go for it."
"Oh!" Nidhogg and Jinwu took off.
Nidhogg released a dragon roar, showing that he was already aware of their presence, so the aliens didn't need to hide. Jinwu activated his battle form while letting out a cry.
"There are at least 6 mature class aliens," shouted Jinwu before flying toward the enemies.
He rose into the sky and formed a bright, glowing sphere and spread it to the ground.
The aliens were trying to escape, but the stronger aliens were more coordinated than Jinwu expected.
One of the mature class aliens suddenly leaped into the sky and spread its tentacles, becoming a shield that absorbed the heat. More importantly, the mature class alien didn't seem to get hurt, as though his heat resistance was much higher than any other mature class Jinwu had faced so far.
Nidhogg, on the other hand, flew in the opposite direction and released his Chaos Breath.
The purple flame flared up, igniting the trees it touched. However, two mature class aliens swiftly cut the trees and let them fall, opening the path for the rest of the aliens.
"…" Jinwu examined the entire battlefield, noticing that a lot of flying beasts took off toward Nidhogg. However, he hadn't seen the mature class mutant. "I haven't seen our target yet. It might have a small size or not be here entirely. Be careful." Your next chapter is on empire
After giving the last reminder, Jinwu charged toward the aliens.
Nathan nodded. "Fenrir, Anubis. We'll crush them here and force the mutant to come out. Sasha, Yin Zhen, and Amphitrite will have to focus on the aliens coming from the north. Try to create an escape path in case the alien has prepared a surprise for us."
Sasha and Yin Zhen nodded their heads while Amphitrite didn't respond. She was similar to how Yin Zhen first acted toward Nathan, so Nathan just ignored her. After all, she would still follow the order.
"We will maintain a distance between us to bait the mutant, but don't be too far." Nathan gave one last instruction to Selena before advancing forward.
Selena could see the aliens approaching them quickly. There weren't a lot of trees in this area, so they could advance pretty much in a straight line.
Selena waved her staff, using her Multiflux Control to blast the soil in front of her and create a wave of soil to bury the aliens.
A few juvenile class aliens sped up and crashed themselves into this wave, breaking it apart. Two of them were getting buried, but it was better than letting at least thirty other aliens be buried together.
On the other hand, Nathan didn't focus solely on the front. After all, the aliens were approaching him from the right side as well.
"I guess it's time to use it," Nathan muttered. The girls weren't the only ones who had a new technique.
When the enemies started to approach him, Nathan hadn't summoned his bullets yet like he used to.
Instead, he let them come closer until there wasn't a lot of distance between them yet.
"!!!" Selena obviously noticed the change and furrowed her eyebrows. She wondered what Nathan was planning to do.
Nathan smiled. He opened his left palm and started producing one huge bullet after another. Instead of the usual 60 bullets, he actually made only 12 bullets, with every bullet equal to 5 smaller bullets.
It was even more shocking because these twelve bullets were orbiting around him.
Selena widened her eyes. Their orbiting speed was quite fast, but the control itself wasn't that hard. After all, the way Nathan controlled his bullets' trajectories was more complex previously.
Her doubt was answered the moment the first alien pounced on him.
It was a proto-class alien, so it was weak and fearless. It leaped into the air in order to punch Nathan, but all of a sudden, the bullet that was orbiting Nathan hit the proto-class alien's head.
"!!!" The alien looked shocked as the bullet blew up two-thirds of the alien's head, killing it.
Another alien approached him head-on, but all of a sudden, another bullet hit the alien's calf, which blew apart its leg as well as tilting the alien's body to the side before another bullet hit his head.
Not a single alien could approach Nathan as if the orbital bullets had turned him into a fortress.
