Chapter 19: Strongest Gacha God ch19 New beginnings.

Within an ancient ruins bathed in grains of sand, an ongoing clash of weapon rang in the vicinity as three adventure continuously clashed with a humaniod green serpentine creature.

"Felix on guard!"

Their leader a muscular black hair man with brown skin commanded, the sword in his hand blurring with a yellow light and hitting the scales of the creature.

Chipping of a few of it's scales, he leaped back as two razor sharp claws narrowly missed him.

"Yes sir."

Registering the man's command was a teenager with platinum blonde hair and green eyes. Dressed in light leather brown armor along a silver sword in hand, he dashed passed the man, ducked over the claw and drove his sword into the dent the leader had left on its scale.

The serpentine creature letting out a shrieked, twisted it's waist, it's lower half completely that of a snake, whipping foward in an arc.

"Melissa protect the kid."

"On it."

Responding to the call was a blonde woman with wavy long hair and dressed completely in metallic armor.

A kite shaped shield was held in her right arm which she used to protect Felix by coming in between the attack and him.

Clang!

Solid scales smashed into the shield, ignition sparks and leaving a dent while pushing Melissa back.

"It hits hard."

Stomping her feets into the ground, her blue eyes let out a glow. She then kicked of the ground and swung her shield back at the tail.

While Melissa kept the creature's tail at bay, Felix, his sword encased in greensih wind and azura mist, plunged his sword deeper into the monster's wound.

In pain, it swung it's claws at him but they were all parried away by the leader whom followed in a counter attack that stabbed into one of it's arms.

"Blizzard."

Having bought him enough time, Felix hosting a grin whispered, sending a chilling mist directly into the creature body and freezing it from the inside.

In a matter of second it's movement grew sluggish, a cold mist escaped it's lips and it's pupils rolled back into it's eye sockets.

Soon it's movement halted and Felix followed by redrawing his sword and cutting it apart.

[You have slained a low rank serpents born.]

[You have obtained 3 banners points."

" Huff."

Out of breath, Felix fell on his butt one's the notification of the creature's death echoced in his mind.

" Nice job kid!" The leader called Kanon walked beside him and patted his shoulder with a smile.

" Who are you kidding you held back for me." Felix said grumpily.

It's been a few weeks since Felix arrived in the city of Orchid. Within that time, he had registered as an adventurer but since he was lacking in combat experience, he had been tracking down veteran Adventurer in hopes they will show him the ropes.

Among the few he had worked with the passing weeks, Kanon and Melissa, an Adventurer couple both in the C rank class had taken him under their wing.

They were really nice to be around but he sort of didn't like how the treated him like a kid.

"You landed the final blow Felix that got to count for something right."

Squatting near the monster's corpse to retrieve it's core nested deep within it's heart, Melissa commented.

"I know but the thought of both of you holding back because of me just..."

"Listen kid, we've both turned down some major commission to mentor you. You don't have to worry about us seeing you as a nuisance." Kanon chimmed in, folding his arms with a stern look.

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize. It's probably the rookie spirit."

" Rookie spirit?"

" Many young lots when the take this path usually want something to prove. You want us to know you're strong but when we hold back around you, it's makes you feel as if we see you as inferior. As if we'll babysitting you."

"How can you tell?" Felix paled at how accurately he was read.

" We've been there." Kanon sighed as Melissa continued.

"That fool over there one's tried hurting a desert wyvern when he first started."

"Did Kanon win?" Felix asked, nervously.

"Nah, he did earn a scar on his back thou."

"Melissa!"

Embrassed by his dark past, Kanon shouted in disapproval while Melissa merely scoffed at him.

"Thing is adventuring is dangerous. Here things like pride don't mean shit when you're weak but strength isn't easily handled either. If you want to prove yourself be patience, the time will arrive."

Kanon nodded along his wife's words.

"I... understand!" Felix muttered a smile smile tugging at the conners of his lips.

"I just need to be patient."

--------------

See you tomorrow kid and say hi to that demon friend of yours."

When they arrived back in the city Felix parted ways with the couple.

Since it was quite a far distance he resort to taking a cab, which shortened his trip to a mere ten minutes.

Soon he got of the cab and payed the driver, he then stopped near a vending machine for a can of soda.

" Out of physical cash." He mused ranning his hands through his pocket.

" If only mana cores could be used to buy drinks."

Hunching his shoulder low in disappointment, he walked passed the vending machine, a few homeless individual and a pretty street's singer.

Listening to a song for a few moments, he continued his trip home while humming to the catchy tune.

Eventually he arrived infornt of a tall flat situated between two expensive glass skyscapers.

Making his way through the receptionist hall, he took an elevator to the eleventh floor and dragged himself across the tiled hallway.

At the end of the hallway, he turned left and took our a single key from his pocket and inserted it into the wooden door facing him.

With a sharp click, the door opened bathing him in the view of his current home.
