Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 187: Chapter 187: A Stroke of Luck

"Alert! Radar has detected energy attacks locked onto Fengshen. Star shield at full power, point-defense system activated for interception!"

Feng Mo observed the radar hologram, where hundreds of blue and orange beams blocked Fengshen's every possible escape path. Fengshen, under intelligent navigation, dodged as much as possible, but some energy beams still struck directly against its star shield.

The beams shattered Fengshen's shield, their force undiminished as they penetrated the ship's armor. Even after being weakened, the beams dug deep into Fengshen's hull, continuing to drain its integrity.

The entire ship lurched sideways under the barrage. Inside the control room, officers and crew were thrown from their positions as red alert lights flashed everywhere, accompanied by a cascade of warning notifications:

"Alert! Star shield energy depleted—shields down!"

"Alert! Fengshen hull armor significantly damaged, armor integrity at 59%."

"Alert! Seven breaches detected on the port side—immediate lockdown of thirty-two nearby compartments!"

"Alert! Eight breaches detected on the starboard side—immediate lockdown of forty adjacent compartments!"

"Alert! Major damage across Fengshen, hull integrity at 67%."

The warning barrage shook Feng Mo out of his dazed state. The restraints on his captain's chair kept him from serious harm, though he felt disoriented from the shockwave.

It looked like his all-or-nothing gamble had paid off. Despite Fengshen's thick shields and armor, it barely withstood the enemy's onslaught. Now battered, Fengshen had incurred heavy damage, with nearly all systems impacted except for the engine and radar. Repairing this would be costly.

But Feng Mo had been right to take the risk. The combined attack of Fengshen's main cannons and a T5 Star Destroyer Cannon had obliterated the Snow Eagle Fleet's flagship. Few on board had likely survived. Without their flagship's leadership, the twenty T5 Sword Dragons had close-range dominance, enough to hold their ground until the four T5 Mystic Bird bombers finished reloading.

With a sigh of relief, Feng Mo acknowledged Fengshen's battered state; he had done everything he could to ensure victory. Now, the outcome rested with time.

As time passed, after three waves of bombardment and the T5 Sword Dragons shredding over a dozen enemy T5 ships, the Snow Eagle Fleet was left with less than fifty ships in total chaos.

Years of military discipline prevented them from retreating or surrendering, though their confidence dwindled as they battled the T5 Sword Dragons, who still had their shields intact, making it hard for the Snow Eagle ships to inflict substantial damage. Another ten minutes of close combat ensued.

"Commander, the four T5 Mystic Birds are fully rearmed. Awaiting orders!"

Finally, the endgame was in sight, and Feng Mo rejoiced, "Mello, broadcast a surrender request. If the Snow Eagle Fleet continues resisting, lock onto their ships and destroy them."

Mello immediately relayed the surrender message through the four T5 Mystic Birds. But as proud veterans symbolizing the Empire's honor, the Snow Eagle Fleet had neither thoughts of surrender nor retreat. Their response was simply: "I would rather die than yield!"

Such a response, Feng Mo thought, was both admirable and tragic. He could see their loyalty to the Snow Eagle Empire, but as they were not under his command, he had no choice but to let them go in peace.

"Mello, give them an honorable send-off. Let this decaying empire be the fuel for Storm Kingdom's rise, and let Storm Kingdom's ascent begin on Snow Eagle's ashes!"

Receiving the order, Mello commanded the T5 Mystic Birds to unleash a torrent of missiles, eliminating the enemy's remaining ships. With the battle concluded, Ai Er led the logistical fleet onto the field to clear the aftermath.

In this battle, Fengshen had sustained heavy damage, with at least ten of the twenty T5 Sword Dragons also in need of extensive repairs, while the remaining ten suffered various levels of damage. Only the Orca and four T5 Mystic Birds remained fully operational.

The Orca, however, had depleted its entire ammunition and drone stock, necessitating an urgent resupply. With the logistics fleet now in place, the star battle was over. Feng Mo then logged onto the StarNet and posted a formal announcement under his royal title as King of Storm Kingdom:

"The Western War Zone's Three Empires have betrayed the Federation. Storm Kingdom has responded to the call and deployed the T5-class Storm Fleet in full assault against the Snow Eagle Empire. On Federation Year 7498, November 8, Snow Eagle's emblematic Snow Eagle Fleet was annihilated in its entirety! —Storm King, Feng Mo."

The announcement sent shockwaves through the Federation. News of Storm King's total defeat of the Snow Eagle Empire was difficult for many to believe. This was a fully equipped T5 fleet. There were skeptics, believers, and intense debate over its plausibility.

However, once Feng Mo uploaded the entire battle footage to the StarNet, all doubts and speculations vanished. The evidence silenced every critic.

As a flood of messages poured into his communication channel, Feng Mo ignored them, forwarding only the footage along with a single word: "Safe." He had more pressing matters to attend to.

After using light-grip technology to transfer from Fengshen to the Orca, Feng Mo assembled a video conference with the commanders of the three expedition fleets. Although he had ordered the occupation of four major star systems, he knew this would not be a quick victory.

With the enemy's significantly larger fleet, most of the three fleets' operations involved small-scale skirmishes, and they were still locked in a standoff.

"Hua Qin, Silia—take the Celestial Crystal and Beast Roar Fleets into U1. Capture it within two days, then Silia, hold the star system."

"Feng Tianyi, Kylan, Laila, and Lacey, broadcast a surrender offer. Those who surrender can integrate into Storm Kingdom, retaining their resources, but will need to hand over inhabited planets in exchange for compensation."

Feng Mo addressed his fleet commanders. With the Snow Eagle Fleet's defeat widely known, he expected many opportunists to capitulate. However, now was not the time for a full-scale invasion of Snow Eagle.

He knew the Frostmoon Empire and Yunmeng Empire would likely support Snow Eagle. Waging a total war now would strain Storm Kingdom's resources to the breaking point.

Furthermore, both Fengshen and ten T5 Sword Dragons were critically damaged and required time for repairs. Feng Mo's strategy was to officially take control of the U1, U2, U4, and U5 systems, position forces at the Oakland system's border, and establish a defensive stance against Snow Eagle.

Internally, he would expedite development, integrate newly acquired systems, streamline fleet operations, and bolster strength. In less than a year

, Storm Kingdom would be ready for full-scale war against Snow Eagle!
