Meanwhile, in the Snow Eagle Empire's conference room, pandemonium erupted once more. The original three billion star coins they had pooled together hadn't been returned—instead, Feng Mo demanded they add another seven billion! Shocked and angry, the aristocrats debated furiously, trying to determine how to share the burden, down to the last snow eagle coin. With their egos bruised, they reluctantly conceded; there was no other choice.

Unaware of the turmoil he had caused, Feng Mo had already shifted his focus. He was now working on his plans to absorb the Lizard Star System into the Storm Kingdom. Although the Lizardfolk weren't a particularly powerful species—they lacked the resilience of other races like the Crystalbone—they held significant resources. However, Feng Mo's true target was their backer, the Mechanical Tribe.

The Mechanical Tribe's previous attempt to infiltrate his territories through the Lizardfolk had almost gone unnoticed, with their ultimate aim being the capture of ten key Federation systems in the west. Only because the Lizardfolk tried to play both sides had Feng Mo managed to thwart the scheme. He knew he had to be careful with his next move.

He summoned Feng Xian to his office, giving him a quiet set of instructions. Feng Mo didn't necessarily need to annex the Lizard System outright, which could prompt retaliation from the Mechanical Tribe, but he wanted to plant a hidden informant. With a covert operative in place, Feng Mo could keep a close watch on the Lizardfolk's movements, staying one step ahead of any potential threat.

Two days later, another seven billion star coins hit his account. Smiling, Feng Mo appreciated the aristocrats' willingness to pay—if nothing else, they were good for financing his next ventures. He transferred five billion into the Storm Kingdom's design department, with the rest as his own discretionary funds.

Since he had received their payment, he decided to spare U1—for now. Instead, he instructed Feng Tianyi to keep the Gale Fleet stationed at the border between the Gale and U1 Systems, even giving the appearance of preparing a space station there. His intent was clear: to apply constant pressure, to make the U1 System aware that the Storm Kingdom was watching closely. Sometimes, the threat alone was enough to make an opponent crack.

Over the next year, progress was remarkable. Under Ai Er's management, the construction of twenty-four new T5 ships was completed, and each of the five main fleets was reinforced with five hundred T4 vessels. The Storm Kingdom now had the firepower to support larger operations, with resources well-stocked and finances robust.

Feng Mo's patient maneuvering paid off when news reached him that the Federation was facing mounting pressure in the southern region due to escalating conflict with the Mechanical Tribe. Forces from three empires were deployed to resist the Mechanical onslaught, stretching Federation resources thin. This created the perfect moment for Feng Mo to act on the Lizard System.

He now had detailed intelligence from Feng Xian's agents. The Mechanical Tribe had left only three T5 warships in the Lizard System. Confident that the Storm Fleet could overwhelm the defenses, Feng Mo issued orders to Ai Er:

"Ai Er, mobilize the Storm Fleet. We move at dawn for the Lizard System. Inform Hua Qin to bring half of the Beast Roar Fleet along. The Lizard System will be Hua Qin's new post."

The next morning, Feng Mo was up early. After dressing in his combat attire, assisted by Ai Er and Han Peipei, he boarded his shuttle to the Hurricane Starport. Over the last year, the Storm Fleet had grown to an impressive strength of twenty-six T5 ships, bolstered by two T4 intercepter bioships. Though somewhat outclassed, the bioships still had the potential for an evolutionary upgrade—a rare opportunity Feng Mo didn't want to miss.

As he took his seat on the bridge of the Fengshen, Han Peipei reported, "Commander, destination set for the Lizard System. Route is charted, fleet fully supplied. Initiating Level 5 synchronized warp; all personnel below Level 2 genetic capability are entering deep-sea mode for the jump."
