Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Ruthlessness

The Starport on U3 Prime had become a blazing fortress, with most of the logistical starships docked there destroyed, including some T4-class ships that the Mellow sisters had targeted with extra missiles.

The scene was pure chaos, with screams and explosions echoing through the entire starport. Watching this, Feng Mo was reminded of the time he bombarded the Bai Clan's starport; the sight was just as grand.

With the starport heavily damaged, the fleet stationed outside the planet tried to split off and return to reinforce, but Feng Mo had no intention of letting them get away.

Two thousand drones flew close to the fleet, continuously launching missiles. Even as the fleet fired back, the drones didn't evade; they poured out every bit of ammunition from their payloads, maximizing their attack.

Feng Mo sat calmly on the captain's chair, watching the drones clash with the enemy fleet, his face utterly impassive as he spoke:

"Fengshen radar, lock on the enemy flagship. Hurricane, lock on the enemy's quasi-T5 starships. Star and main cannons, prepare to fire."

With Feng Mo's order, Fengshen and Hurricane's star-killing cannons and main cannons charged up, their dazzling orange and blue lights gleaming.

"Enemy flagship locked, T5-class cluster star-killing cannon ready!" Han Peipei announced from behind Feng Mo.

"Fire! Take them down in one shot!"

With his command, a brown energy beam instantly reached the enemy flagship, smashing through its star shield and tearing through the enemy's quasi-T5 flagship. A few more rounds from the main cannons followed, setting off a massive explosion that engulfed the entire flagship.

Meanwhile, Hurricane's cannons opened fire, obliterating all locked targets. With their flagship gone, the enemy fleet fell into disarray.

The drones seized the opportunity, launching missiles and laser volleys that formed a web of firepower, swallowing the enemy ships.

The enemy fleet had no chance to resist. The drone assault continued relentlessly, even when the enemy could no longer fight back—no one would stop until Feng Mo issued a ceasefire.

This was the effect Feng Mo wanted. Knowing that many forces were broadcasting this battle, he made a show of ruthlessness to send a clear message. He knew this tactic well: a ruthless display to shock and awe.

It was unfortunate for the fleet before him, though their remains could be repurposed into T4-class ships. As for the crew on board? Regrettably, no one cared about their survival—that was the harsh reality of the interstellar era's jungle law.

Fifteen minutes later, Feng Mo finally called off the attack. He was slightly late, though—nearly the entire enemy fleet had been annihilated, with only a handful of survivors.

"Alert the logistical fleet and Feng Tianyi to clean up the battlefield. Anyone we rescue goes to the mines for three years. After that, the fleet can select the best among them to join as citizens."

This was standard procedure. After every battle, they would rescue surviving crew members, but with a cost—they had to mine on resource planets for three years.

After that, or if they showed exceptional performance during the three years, Storm Kingdom's fleets would select the best to join the navy. Those who weren't up to standard would become citizens on the life-supporting planets, living a life of basic service.

This brutal battle shook everyone watching the broadcast. Some were particularly bitter, especially among Snow Eagle Empire's top noble families, whose hatred for Feng Mo grew even deeper.

But the outcome of this battle saved Feng Mo considerable time for his upcoming offensives. At every life-supporting planet the Storm Fleet reached, the enemy fleets uniformly surrendered.

Following his usual approach, Feng Mo sent those who surrendered to mine for three years, later choosing the best to join the fleets and recycling any unusable starships into resources to reinforce his four major fleets. As always, the Storm Fleet took a high-tier approach, accepting only T5 ships and special T4-class vessels.

U3 System contained six life-supporting planets and over 300 resource planets. As a resource-rich system, it now belonged to Feng Mo, a fact that left many tossing in their beds at night, seething with anger, unable to do anything about it.

Within just two and a half days, the entire U3 System was secured. Feng Mo formed a fifth fleet, drawing a hundred ships from each of Storm Kingdom's four main fleets to guard U3 System, which he assigned to Feng Tianyi. His elite mecha squad was placed under the command of Feng Tianyi's eldest son, Feng Xian.

After taking U3, Feng Mo reported the conquest to the Federation, requesting the system be annexed as part of Storm Kingdom and renamed the Gale System, with Gale Fleet appointed to defend it.

He also updated the names of the other system fleets:

Fleet Overview:

Storm Fleet, Fengshen Fleet, Hurricane Fleet, Celestial Crystal Fleet, Beast Roar Fleet, Gale Fleet

Fengshen Fleet: Defending Storm System, commanded by Kylan (formerly Elf Fleet)

Hurricane Fleet: Defending Hurricane System, commanded by Laila and Lacey (formerly Explorer Fleet)

Celestial Crystal Fleet: Defending Celestial Crystal System, commanded by Silia (formerly White Hole Defense Fleet)

Beast Roar Fleet: Defending Beast Roar System, commanded by Hua Qin

Gale Fleet: Defending Gale System, commanded by Feng Tianyi (formerly U3 System)

After finalizing the fleet and system renaming, Feng Mo made no further moves, even though this was only the fourth day of the allotted seven. Gu Jun could understand Feng Mo's thinking—there was no need to push too far, or risk overextending.

Snow Eagle Empire's noble families also sighed in relief; they had feared Feng Mo might at least try to seize two systems. But upon reading Feng Mo's latest message, they exploded in anger.

The message was simple: "Buy U1 System for a fixed amount of starcoins; deposit it in my account within a day, or I'll bring my fleet to your doorstep."

The message was straightforward—a clear threat to pay for peace.

An emergency meeting convened among the families on the list, debating how to respond to Feng Mo's demands. Some argued against yielding; others suggested paying up to avoid trouble.

In the end, an old duke settled the matter with a single line:

"As someone who knows the Storm King well, anyone who doesn't want to pay for peace is free to leave. The Bai Clan was annihilated by him less than five years ago. Anyone ready to join them can walk out now."
