Shadow Slave: is this love?

Chapter 17: Final Day at the emporium: Music Time

The day was finally about to end, it was a long day with everything that happened to Rain, who was Roan at the moment.

That was weird.

RING

The melodious ring of then[Silver Bell] sounded across the Brilliant Emporium, its sound was still beautiful just like when he got it.

The Memory that saved his life a lot, the same one which saved every Firekeeper at one point.

'I wonder if Cas likes this.'

Maybe he could play her flute! He learnt how to use one from Kai and in Antarctica too, so he would be decent.

'Hopefully.'

Cassie would have high standards.

What if he couldn't reach them?

Sunny sighed, and the door opened.

On the door, he saw his cohort:

Luster, Kim, and Quentin along with Beth.

"Captian, you're alive? I mean, ofcourse you are, why wouldn't you be? I mean we were with you." Luster said.

"Ofcourse, it only took me entering a gate which led to a Death Zone and followed by the Third Nightmare with the most bizzare time flow, to us looping the Nightmare countless times only for it to end with my encounter with a Bird. A very Vile Thieving Bird. Oh I also killed a corrupted version of myself by simply saying 'Be gone.'"

Sunny looked at the puzzled faces of his cohort and Beth.

"This one is almost as crazy as the stories you told us before the Antarctica Compaign started." Quentin let out a nervous chucke.

"Yeah, thats obviously not true." Kim chuckled, nervous. "It's just one of his crazy stories."

"Right?" Luster asked for confirmation, causing Sunny to laugh.

"Ofcourse, I'm the most honest person in the world... Two worlds even."

Their faces had wide eyes and dropped jaws—Literally—along with a puzzled look.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, I killed the damn bird along with Anvil. It was an experience I wouldn't recommend, it literally stole concepts. A part of the reason I survived was because I travelled through the Hollows—along with convincing myself into existence—and developed the will."

They sat on the table after giving their orders and Sunny quickly started to make the Supreme waffles with expert precision.

They talked till almost the time of closing, and now it was time for him to spend time with Cassie.

His one true love.

"Do you want to stay here or go to the Ivory Tower? Or we could go to the Forgotten Shore?" He asked her, holding out his hands.

"Let's head to Forgotten Shore right now." She laughed and winked, "No one would disturb us there."

That... That was too much!

"And then I'll play some Nightingale music." She teased with a playful smirk.

'Fuck.'

Damned Kai!

"I can sing for you too, you know!" He retorted, slightly annoyed and jealous.

"I was joking about the Kai part, but we will play some music." She nudged him.

"Fine" Sunny pouted.

They went for the date there, with Sunny taking her there.

"Alright, let's play some music." She announced, angling her shoulders and elbows ninty degree with her palms open.

Sunny sighed, and wadhed as de summoned a Memory.

"I will start something, you will like it don't worry."

"We're no strangers to love"

Cassie leaned against his shoulder, letting one of her arms reach his other shoulder, pulling him close.

"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down"

And just like that, the song continued, and they held each other close.

That was the first song: and surprisingly it wasn't as bad as he hoped, maybe he would give music another try!

They heard a few more songs, until...

"For the next song can I try tuning something? With this flute." Sunny asked, genuinely interested to see what he could do.

"You can try playing something after the next song, the next one isn't something with flute... I think."

This was the last song in the playlist.

It was a song called: The One by an artist nick named Falling North.

Cassie twisted the knob of the Memory to play it:

"They ask, 'How are you? Are you dating?'

But please stop asking, I can't take it

So they tell me to stop chasing

You know it's over, time to face it"

The song played...

"You know, this is what I felt when you were Fateless... And when people asked me out." Cassie trembled slightly, moving slightly closer.

"So how can I forget you when you are the one?

You used to be my everything, there's nothing when you're gone"

It continued...

"I am sorry..." Cassie leaned closer to him.

"Too many great memories

I can't erase them, they're all I see (See)

When I walk past the street where we'd meet for a drink or two"

"I- I too visited these places, where we met all those times."

Sunny simply held her tighter, in a gentle way.

It spoke more than words could, and Sunny started to play a tune on his flute to calm her down...

Enjoy :D
