Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband

Chapter 564: Edward's decison.

Glad that Edward had made such a decision without him even being asked, Rufus agreed immediately. He was so quick because he did not want Edward to change his mind for any reason.

"Hold on, it has become a habit of mine now to record everything." Rufus pulled out his phone and hit record. "Can you repeat those words for me."

Edward repeated himself, affirming that he was returning to the academy. He even stated his full names, age and hunter ID number which he had not used in a long time.

"You have made the right decision son, with you on my team I'll have less to worry about to some extent." The words tumbled out of Rufus excitedly.

Before Rufus could get overly excited, Edward's finger hovered as he sought permission to speak. "Uncle Rufus, you should know that first I am going to put all my efforts in finding my father before getting involved in anything else. I do not mean that I won't take on academy duties like teaching classes or going on the occasional hunt, but my priority is my father." He made his priority very clear.

Edward figured that if his father was hiding because he had enemies in the school, maybe he would come back if he heard that the academy had been swept cleaned and all moles and troublemakers chased out.

"Of course, that is only natural, and you are in luck because there is a trusted team I have put together that you can work with." Rufus leaned back and crossed one leg over the other.

Arcing a brow, uncertainty crossed Edward's eyes. "A team? I am sorry but I prefer to choose my people, besides the knowledge of my father being alive should be kept as confidential as possible for now or else someone might attempt to kill him again. I am afraid to trust anyone at this point."

Rufus let out a tiny sneer. "Even though some of the members of this team are your family members. Phoebe, Maureen and Rekha?" He asked, dropping the names.

Meeting the news with icy calm, Edward chuckled. "That is hardly a team! I saw this coming the moment you said family members; however this is a team made up of all women with one that is pregnant! How is she going to handle the stress of all this besides I do not want my daughter at that academy when danger is still lurking inside its walls." His words took a withering tone.

"First of all, two of those women are guardians so don't call them women, accord them the respect they deserve. They have worked hard to earn their positions, Edward. Your sister would kick your ass if she heard what you just said." Rufus could see Maureen beating sense back into Edward's head already.

"That's true." Edward accepted easily.

"There are more people on the team, your mother, me and Lee, Abraham too if he gets his head out of his ass. Arrow is also on the team and so is Lion Castille, his uncle. The two of you used to be great friends he was your hunting partner. You can trust Lion; he will have your back.

David is also one of us. I am going to need you to run point because Lee and I are going to be occupied with other things, but we will help here and there." Rufus looked at Edward with hope that he would accept his new position.

A disbelieving laugh came from Edward. "You have got to be kidding me? You had this mind when you brought me down here, didn't you old man?" He forced himself up.

"Yes," Rufus admitted candidly. They were short of competent leaders, so he was going to recruit all the retired men and women that had gone into retirement, starting with Edward. He would give Zephyra her army. "We are short of hands here Edward. I know Cillian is your major concern, but I think I know whom Cillian went to for safety.

I also don't think that he planned to be gone for this long, so he was probably caught up in a different war, one which never ends. Before you get excited. I do not know where the entity hiding him is, but I am going to look high and low for him. If he was willing to hide Cillian, then maybe he is willing to join our cause for Cillian's sake." Rufus's eyes looked at the time on his wristwatch. "Pru must be exhausted, I am going to take her home and you can meet me at the academy in about an hour." He moved towards the door in a haste, then he paused and spun around. "Do not scold anyone, Phoebe especially." He warned sternly, she was their secret weapon being that she was the grand guardian.

Edward looked at his wristwatch and nodded. They had been in the basement for two hours; their absence had been noticed by now. "I will see you at the academy in an hour." He was now very willing to take up any position Rufus needed him to because the old man was more helpful than he had imagined.

Everyone else was still grasping at straws and he already knew whom his father had gone to for help. Why then was he asking so many questions instead of naming this person or entity? If it was an entity, what kind of entity was it? It had to be something in the supernatural world but what?

Was it a demon, djinn, dragon, vampire, angel, wendigo, shadow person, elemental? The list was very long. Questions swirled in his mind, and he continued to compile the list of what hid his father. He decided to make the list and cross off possibilities.

Minutes later, his eyes checked for the time and one hour and forty-five more minutes had passed. It was late and the after party had to have ended by that time.

"Shit!" A curse grumbled in his chest, Jennie had to be furious for seeing off the guests on her own.

Just like he suspected, the guests had left the music had died down and the party outside was over, however his family members were sitted in the lounge area reminiscing the crazy events that happened at the wedding.

Shanna and Luna had broken out the karaoke machine which was becoming a regular thing after every party at the manor.

"Seems like you had a lot of fun without me." Edward spoke softly; he smiled ruefully at his wife.

Jennie only smiled back, she was aware that Edward had been talking to the old patriarchs. She saw them walking out of the party in a group earlier that night, whatever it was had to be important. "Are the old patriarchs gone? What did you talk about that took you so long?" She asked her hands gripping the coffee cup as if to get warmth from it.

Jennie knew that there were more secrets in the family than usual. She was not stupid; she had seen the shady behavior almost everyone was exhibiting. She really wanted to know what they were hiding from her.
