Chapter 145: An Immortal foe
Man Tian was riding on the Golden Growler at a very fast speed, faster than any other creature in the third sanctuaries.
After he dropped off the time ape, he went ahead to pick up the silver fox.
Halfway to the top of Ghost Mountain though—
The dark night suddenly turned day.
"What is happening?"
Man Tian looked back in confusion.
It was like the sun was rising from the horizon.
A pale white sun.
He felt it couldn't be anything good.
The direction came from where Han Yan and Bian went.
They might be in danger.
He hurried to the top of the mountain to retrieve the silver fox and head back.
...
Zzz!
Bian felt a vibration from deep within his body.
Other than the constant vibration, he felt completely fine.
If there was one thing he didn't need to fear with Jadebody, it was explosions.
Unlike piercings, slashes, or even concentrated force, an explosion that covered him from head to toe would spread out evenly across his body.
He was perfectly fine.
Han Yan, on the other hand, wasn't doing so well.
She had jade skin, but even that couldn't resist the magnitude of the explosion.
Her right arm, her head, and her torso, which Bian shielded with his body, were fine.
The rest of her though—
Was evaporated.
"Aaah!"
A shrill scream escaped her mouth. The sound of which was unbearable to Bian.
He looked around.
Everything was gone.
The shelter, the spirits, humans.
All gone.
He was in a massive crater, bigger than any continent.
It had to be the size of the moon at least.
What sort of dreadful power would be needed to make such a devastating hole?
His answer was at the center of the crater.
A white aura, the size of a house, was oscillating at the epicenter of the crater.
The aura contracted, forming a skeleton, organs, muscles, tendons, flesh, and a robe in a couple of seconds.
The white man appeared once more.
Or it might be more appropriate to call him Executioner White.
"Magnificent, isn't it?"
Executioner White exclaimed.
"While others had great powers to defy the universal laws of time and space, I was only granted immortality."
He took steady steps towards Bian as he continued talking.
"It wasn't fair, right? So I got a little extra to even the playing field."
The white aura, which had shrunk when he recovered, began to expand until it reached its original size.
"Break Six Skies allows a person to use themselves as material for nuclear fission. I had to wait for so long, but now I can use it freely."
"It doesn't matter how you killed Executioner Green and Blue. You can't kill someone that is immortal!"
Bian simulated the life force of the silver fox, using its white lightning to heal Han Yan while listening to the Executioner ramble on.
He knew about Break Six Skies. It wasn't an art of the alliance but came from the outside.
The skill was quite difficult to learn, as a single mistake could blow the person up.
It looked like Executioner White didn't mind the risk but rather embraced it.
It would be near impossible for him to use the actual move, so rather, he settled for the mistake that would happen while using it.
A human nuke.
"You killed them!" Bian's gaze darkened as Executioner White approached.
Xie Qing King, Hope Spirit and her family, Yi Dongmu, and the other humans.
They were all dead.
He didn't even care about the casualties before using his moves.
"Each and every one of you!"
Bian gritted his teeth.
"I will be the one to kill."
Swoosh!
In one fluid motion, Bian threw Han Yan away and rushed at Executioner White.
[Firing on all cylinders]
The body, soul, and spirit pillar went into hyperdrive, the piston within beating wildly.
Bian disappeared like a ghost mid-sprint and appeared behind Executioner White.
Blood sprayed out like a river as his head was sent airborne with a vertical chop.
"You are fast!"
Executioner White's head regenerated in an instant.
He jumped and grabbed his former head, which began glowing like a mini sun.
With a blue flash, he teleported beside Bian and slammed the head towards his abdomen.
BOOM!
A massive explosion erupted, leaving Bian bare.
The explosion destroyed his armor completely but couldn't move him at all.
"This is quite troublesome—"
Bang!
Bian dashed and palmed him with a fiery strike. Black-red flames drowned the Executioner, turning the rocks around them to lava in an instant.
Executioner White was soon left as a pillar of ash standing still.
Bian consumed a good portion of his energy to fuel the Hellfire Armament, burning his opponent down to the bone.
"It's not over." He said with a grim look while summoning another armor to clothe himself.
Truly, the ashes gathered together and began coalescing into the silhouette of a person.
When the ashes weren't enough, part of the aura compensated and shrunk a bit to reform the Executioner.
'I have to find a way to exhaust the aura around him.' Bian thought while trying something new.
A small green fire floated around his palm before expanding rapidly.
He thrust his attack at the figure which had just finished recovering.
Swoosh!
Executioner White turned invisible, but the white aura around him remained intact.
"Time skip!"
Bian pulled back and jumped up, just to be met with a blue flash as Executioner White teleported beside him mid-air.
"I was expecting that!"
The green fire from earlier, which had died down before, burst out again, engulfing his opponent.
Executioner White was turned to a stone statue in an instant.
Bian saw the statue form cracks in mere moments, seeping out bright radiant light like a sun was hidden beneath.
He crossed his guards for defense and then—
A star exploded.
Another supernova-like explosion went off, this time in the air.
The explosion vaporized a little part of the sanctuaries and all the air in that vicinity.
Then, after the explosion came an implosion, caused by the inflow of air at a rapid rate.
Then another explosion, caused by concentrated air gathered in one place.
BZZZ!
Bian was dazed for a couple of seconds. He felt like he had just experienced the ending of the world, and his body was vibrating like crazy.
His new armor was gone, forcing him to summon another one to replace it.
"I'm not damaged, but what is this vibration?"
Bian voiced out loud, then turned to face a floating white amoeba in the distance.
This was the aura of Executioner White, which rapidly shrunk and was forming a new body at a frightening pace.
Immediately the body was reformed, the aura expanded back to its original size.
"It's like an infinite health glitch, there wasn't even a delay for its regeneration."
Bian sighed in frustration.
"You planned to force me into consuming my Perpetuity Halo but didn't expect its tenacity to be so high."
Executioner White said with a mocking smile.
"Your explosions have no effect on me either."
Bian retorted.
"Oh really? I don't think so."
Executioner White said while slowly approaching him.
"That vibration, could it be a desperate attempt to neutralize the effects of the explosion?"
"Surely, even if you survived a few more explosions, the increased vibration might be what causes you to shatter instead."
He said with a smirk, then broke into laughter.
Under normal physical circumstances, Bian would have been sweating buckets right now.
His opponent stated his possible weakness while he only found out that this guy was more of a menace than he had initially thought.
'He is smarter than he seems.'
Bian stood alert, ready for his opponent's next move.
Shuaa!
Executioner White lit up like a lightbulb, a sign he was going to explode.
"This bastard!"
Bian said through gritted teeth and jumped away. His body's vibration had barely slowed down, yet Executioner White was about to explode again.
Bian didn't know if he would truly explode once his body's vibration reached a certain limit.
All he was sure of was that nothing good could come of it.
Still, what could he do?
He had barely retreated a hundred meters when Executioner White glowed like a sun.
There wasn't enough time to escape.
Terraslip would be useless against such a dreadful explosion.
He knew he needed to avoid direct impacts with the explosions.
But he couldn't do anything to change the outcome.
