Chapter 725: Waking The Queen Up [Bonus]
Kent turned to Princess Lovina, who nodded and walked toward the bed with him. Vexthra was beside him.
Looking at Sleeping Beauty, Kent couldn't help but make a cheeky comment, "The Elves clearly have the perfect beauty genes."
The queen had been sleeping for over a thousand years already; however, while her cultivation had regressed to the 4th level Root Sovereign stage, her beauty remained. She still looked more gorgeous than ever.
Vexthra pinched Kent's side, prompting him to smile. His comment was rather cheeky but funny. Princess Lovina walked closer to the sleeping beauty, placed her hand on her forehead, and started channeling her energy into her body.
The king held his daughter in his arms as they looked at the Poison Beauty work her magic. They knew this was their last chance, so they were more than eager to hear some good news.
Kent stood there calmly while Vexthra sneakily studied the worried expressions on the faces of the king and his daughter.
This was her chance to study mortals, and as she looked at them, she began to see and feel things that she had let go of in her quest to become a god.
Kent smiled slightly, knowing his goddess wife was taking her quest to become human yet again more seriously than she let on.
But he didn't mind her and continued to pay attention to Lovina, who still had her finger on the Queen's forehead. After ten minutes, she removed her hand, and Princess Elowen quickly asked a question.
"Please, can you save my mother... please..." The desperation was palpable to everyone in the room.
Princess Lovina smiled and walked toward her. She took her hand and assured her, "Don't worry, Princess Elowen, your mother can be saved. I will wake her up in a few minutes."
The Half-Elf princess broke into tears, planting her face in Princess Lovina's chest, and started sobbing. Kent shook his head, smiling, while Vexthra moved closer and took Princess Elowen's hand.
A few moments later, she broke free and blushed, looking at the wet marks on Princess Lovina's chest. "Sorry... I-I was just too emotional."
Princess Lovina smiled, "Don't worry about it." She then turned to Kent.
"Can you concoct the Radiant Soul Pill? I have the ingredients already."
"I can do it," Kent answered and asked, "What grade do you want?"
"Tier 7 or 8 will do."
"Bring the ingredients and I will work on it for you."
"You are the best," Princess Lovina said, and Kent smiled, "I know."
Vexthra just smirked. "Why do you need a Radiant Soul Pill? If my memory serves me right, that pill isn't an antidote but a nourishing pill."
Lovina nodded. "I know, big sister. There are two ways to save her. One is to burn the poison completely from her body. However, doing that would just be a waste.
She was poisoned using the Eternal Nightshade poison. The poison was meant to corrode her heart and kill her in the most painful way. However, thanks to the item protecting her heart, the poison couldn't penetrate it.
Now, what many don't know is that the Eternal Nightshade poison is meant to work within seconds. The moment it entered her body, it was meant to kill her within seconds.
However, I have a feeling she managed to resist it, and this was because she has some level of poison affinity. It was the only reason she survived, and thanks to the device protecting her heart, she was able to defend it."
Princess Elowen shuddered, hearing what Lovina was saying.
"Honestly, I have to give it to her; she is fierce. To be able to handle poison like that, she had to have a relatively strong will.
Defending against such a poison is like feeling a million needles pass through her blood vessels. It is painful than words can describe.
But thanks to her fierceness, she might have just saved herself and secured her future. I can't in good conscience burn the poison away while I can transform it and use it to nourish her poison core.
The 1,000 years she remained asleep have helped her to form a poisonous core. Seriously, this lady is fiercer than you know. She continued to endure 1,000 years of pain, hoping to convert the poison into a core.
If given another 1,000 years, she would have succeeded and woken up on her own. But I will speed the process up and help her awaken with a newfound power, one born out of poison."
Kent shook his head, watching the excited look on Lovina's face. It was like she had found her first poison project, one she would love to work her magic on.
Of course, she wasn't done. "When I am done, if she was once respected, then she would be feared now. Her spirit is fierce..."
"Alright, my Poison Fairy, why don't we get back to waking her up?" Kent laughed, causing Lovina to blush slightly before turning to Vexthra.
"Big sister, I need some of the fruits in the garden." Vexthra nodded and vanished, startling the king and his daughter. Kent just shook his head.
Vexthra could have just said, 'Excuse me,' before vanishing like a ghost. She just left without saying a word. However, a few seconds later, she appeared holding a large plate of some of the best fruits found only in the love garden.
"That will do. She needs to gather as much energy as possible in the first few minutes. And since we can't help her with that, she can get that from the fruits."
Lovina turned to the sleeping beauty and formed a hand seal, conjuring a rune. She gestured forward, making it enter the queen's forehead.
Then she pressed her index finger against her forehead.
A few seconds into the process, the queen's eyelid shook. However, she didn't open it... Lovina continued to keep her finger on her forehead for a few more seconds before slowly opening her eyes.
"MOM!"
The princess called out, eyes moist as she looked at her mother sleeping on the bed, her eyes open now. Vexthra made sure she didn't move closer, fearing she might disrupt the process.
Three minutes later, Lovina removed her hand and sighed. "Welcome back to the land of the living, Queen Jascia."
