Chapter 724: A Battle Queen [Bonus]
Kent and his ladies were led out of the hall by the king. The elders stayed behind to fine-tune some details of their alliance with their new allies, the Bloodvein Tribe.
Kent knew this new alliance would be received in two ways: positively and negatively.
The good would come from people who wanted to meet a new kind of race, one they had never heard of before, but would like to learn about.
Of course, reaching them would be difficult, but knowing people like the Dwarves, who like to expand their markets, they would want to get close to the Bloodvein Tribe, meaning they would also want to get close to the Half-Elves.
That would be beneficial for both parties.
However, the bad would be the demons. After all, they had already tried to kill the Bloodvein Tribe. So they would become angry when they heard of this new development. But who could blame them? They were desperate, and so they chose to become savages.
As for how that would work out, Kent knew it would happen sooner rather than later. However, he wasn't too concerned about that.
After all, the demons were next on his list. For now, he would let them behave as they wished. When he completed his mission of coming to the other continents, he would return to them.
"King Thalirion, may I ask how many of your kin you have in the Supreme Immortal Sect?" Kent asked as they moved toward a majestic building a few meters away.
"It is embarrassing, but for the past 1,000 years, only five of my kind have managed to make it inside. I have three children, and the other two are among the greatest geniuses we have ever had. The last entered 45 years ago but has yet to become an Inner Disciple. Not that the first four managed to become one either."
The king sighed. "Thankfully, the sect doesn't send away those who couldn't climb the ladder to the higher stages. So we only have five geniuses there."
"I see. I guess I didn't have to know they aren't having a good time there, considering the Elves wouldn't make things easy for them."
The king nodded. "They've been a thorn in our side for far too long. However, once the queen is cured, some changes will happen."
"Oh, you make it sound like she holds the power to crush the Elves," Kent asked with a smile.
"She can't crush them alone, but with her back at her peak, they wouldn't dare. Not even the dragons would be arrogant in front of her.
She is a rather powerful warrior once you get to know her," King Thalirion said with a smile. Of course, he was happy to remember all the fond memories he had of his wife from several years ago.
They met on the battlefield. It was a clash against a horde of beasts on the ancient Battlefield of Parting. As the Prince of the Half-Elves, the then-Prince Thalirion went to the Ancient Battlefield to train with his guards.
However, they were ambushed by the Elves, which turned into a battle of life and death when, during their fight, a horde of lightning Tigers attacked them.
They fought fiercely—just he and his five guards—since the Elves left using teleportation talismans. This left them outnumbered and overpowered.
His guards fought fiercely and well, but they died. He was the only one left, cutting through one beast after another, trying to escape. But he couldn't. However, he never stopped killing until a claw came for his neck, one that was destined to end him.
But that claw never reached him because just when he was almost at death's door, a beautiful lady wielding two swords arrived and, like the grim reaper claiming lives, she moved with deadly grace, cutting one beast after another until every last one was slaughtered.
That was the day they met.
A prince and a warrior, both born and bred on the battlefield. She spent most of her time there, and for years, she honed her skills to the point she became one with the battlefield.
It took some time, but the prince who couldn't forget his princess did his best to enter her heart, and ever since, they've become a happy couple.
So, when she took the dagger for him during his coronation, he lost his sanity and tried to get her help, but he came out empty-handed. Something that broke his heart. For years, he never talked to anyone, not even his elders.
However, when the Elves started to grow more aggressive, he had to become a king, not to save his people, but to protect the people his wife had fought many battles for, to ensure they had their place in the world.
He fought to ensure that one day, if his wife were to wake up, there would be a kingdom full of people waiting for him
"She sounds like an amazing woman," Vexthra said, walking on Kent's right.
"She is..."
After a few more seconds, they arrived at a building made out of jade. It was a sleek-looking mansion, neither too large nor too small.
There were five guards at the gate. When they saw the king approach, they bowed. The king nodded and then led Kent and his wives inside.
He led them straight to the room where his wife was sleeping. The moment they entered, Kent's eyes landed on a young lady sitting by the bed holding the hands of a rather beautiful woman.
Looking at her eyes, Kent raised his brow. 'That is an Elf.'
Of course, he knew he would find out soon enough why the king married an Elf, so he focused his attention on the young lady.
She had long, green hair, just like the woman on the bed, and a build that wasn't too busty nor too slim. She had the perfect body shape to turn any man's head when she passed.
"This is my daughter, Princess Elowen. She is the youngest of my children, and the next person we hope can enter the sect and bring some glory to the Half-Elf race.
Elowen, this is Kent Madson, a human, and his two wives, also humans. They are here to see if they can help your mother."
Princess Elowen turned and looked at Kent and his two wives.
"Nice to meet you. Please, can you really save my mother?"
'Don't say anything, shameless Kent, she is grieving.' Before Kent could answer, Vexthra warned him through the harem connection.
[Relax, Vex.]
Kent stared at the worried look on the Half-Elf princess's face and smiled. "Don't worry, she will be up and running in no time."
