Pokemon: This Trainer is Too Cautious!

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Tri-Color Bubbles

The process of catching Miltank went extremely smoothly. After the matchmaking event, Kangaskhan and Miltank separated. Without Ace needing to intervene, Cynthia herself used Gible to catch the largest Miltank.

"Miltank's milk, combined with Happiny's egg after it evolves into Chansey, will surely make delicious ice cream!"

Cynthia couldn't help but fantasize. The combination of two top-tier nourishing ingredients made even Ace's mouth water a little.

However, it was still too early. Happiny was too young, both for learning skills and for its growth period. There was no need to rush its evolution into Chansey.

After the commotion with Miltank and Kangaskhan, Ace and Cynthia temporarily lost the desire to continue ascending Mt. Silver.

Instead, they set up camp right there and began to hone their Pokémon's battle skills.

On this point, Ace and Cynthia each had their own ideas, so they didn't train together. Instead, they separated and refined their respective skills.

They would only come together to cooperate once they felt sufficiently polished, to see how strong their refined techniques were in actual combat.

Cynthia was training Gible. According to Cynthia, Gible was nearing its limit and was expected to evolve soon.

Once Gible evolved into Gabite, shedding the restrictions of its short limbs, it could learn more moves, and its combat effectiveness would significantly increase.

Ace, on the other hand, focused on Squirtle. Similar to Cynthia's idea, Squirtle had undergone many high-intensity battles recently and was also on the verge of evolving.

Before Squirtle evolved into Wartortle, Ace wanted it to master the Bubble Beam move as much as possible, building on its existing Bubble move.

Some might say that in the games, Squirtle cannot learn Bubble Beam. After learning Bubble, it usually switches to Water Gun-series water moves.

This point was also mentioned in Squirtle's breeding manual.

The fundamental reason why Squirtle's initial Water-type move wasn't Water Gun but Bubble was that its internal water storage organ wasn't fully developed and could only store a small amount of water. During the accumulation process, the storage organ would thicken the water to increase storage capacity.

As Squirtle slowly grew, its water storage organ also rapidly developed, quickly diluting the thickened liquid. It then became very difficult for Squirtle to learn Bubble Beam, a powerful Water-type move.

In response, Ace, following the advice in the breeding manual, carefully formulated energy cubes suitable for Squirtle.

He aimed to split a small water storage organ within Squirtle, based on its existing one.

The small water storage organ and the original one would coexist but not interfere with each other. Therefore, theoretically, with continuous cultivation, it would only be a matter of time before Squirtle learned Bubble Beam.

And once Squirtle mastered Bubble Beam, Ace wanted to try out Dragon Master Lance's Tri-Color "Colorless" Bubble tactic.

Theoretically, by creating three bubbles corresponding to the primary colors of light—red, green, and blue—these three colored bubbles, when intertwined and reflecting sunlight, could achieve a "colorless" state.

Imagine, an invisible attack hitting the enemy, leaving them utterly bewildered—how satisfying would that be!

Of course, the above was merely Ace's fantasy. Achieving it in reality was far from easy.

The three bubbles also represented three different types:

Red, representing the Fire-type.Green, representing the Grass-type.Blue, representing the Water-type.

Even Lance, to use this tactic, needed two Dragonair and one Gyarados—three dragons to execute it.

Ace thought about his single Squirtle pulling it off, which would essentially be a slap in Lance's face.

"I have some ideas for the tri-color bubbles, but the current conditions aren't suitable. I can only try it after Kanto settles down."

Ace thought silently, then watched Squirtle blowing bubbles.

Yes, blowing bubbles.

Bubble Beam, in essence, was a move that concentrated bubbles and then rapidly fired them.

To execute this move, one needed a precise grasp of energy and a "steel lung."

After all, Squirtle needed to emit it from its mouth.

Squirtle took a deep breath, opened its mouth, and began blowing bubbles.

With a large gush of air, a bubble as tall as Ace himself was created by Squirtle.

Ace glanced at Squirtle's flushed face, extended a finger, and lightly poked it.

"Pop."

The bubble burst as expected. Ace shook his head and said to Squirtle, "The strength is still not enough. At least, I should be able to walk completely inside the bubble without it bursting. Only then can it be considered a basic mastery."

Squirtle nodded, then began to try again.

"Gible, Dual Chop is attacking the opponent twice with a hard part of your body. Use your hands, hmm, yes."

Watching Gible wave its short little arms, Cynthia nodded, pleased with Gible's comprehension.

"Dual Chop isn't just about two attacks."

Ace, who had approached Cynthia at some point, instructed her, "Dual Chop is a Dragon-type move. When attacking, it requires converging Dragon-type energy to perform a two-stage attack. And it doesn't need to rigidly attack only twice. If the opponent has no chance to resist, you can completely use the converged Dragon-type energy for multiple attacks, chaining them together until the opponent is knocked out."

After speaking, Ace walked in front of Gible, patted his own forearms, indicating for Gible to watch carefully, then swung his arms, demonstrating the motion.

Cynthia's Gible had strong comprehension. Watching Ace's slow movements, it roughly understood the combo technique.

In simple terms, it was an infinite juggle, using one's strength to launch the enemy into the air. Unless it was a flying opponent, non-fliers, once unable to stabilize their bodies in mid-air, would be met with Gible's infinite combos.

"How come you seem more familiar with Gible than I am?"

Cynthia said, a little bit jealous, watching Gible imitate Ace's movements perfectly after he demonstrated them.

She was Gible's Trainer, yet Ace seemed more familiar with Gible's training methods.

"Heh heh, it's from reading too much. Once you understand one thing, you understand everything."

Ace chuckled. This wasn't him boasting; it was genuinely true.

Having read many breeding manuals from the system, Ace had also developed his own training methods during his learning process.

By combining them with the system's breeding manuals, Ace could train Pokémon more scientifically or learn specific moves with targeted approaches.

Take Squirtle, for instance.

Ace looked towards Squirtle. Squirtle took a deep breath, then suddenly opened its mouth, and a stream of Bubble Beam instantly shot out, striking a spot not far away and blasting a sizable crater in the ground.

Keep in mind that not long ago, Squirtle couldn't even produce a large bubble that Ace couldn't easily pop with his finger. Yet, in just a few hours, Squirtle had mastered Bubble Beam.

This kind of progress was incredibly fast!
