Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Nothing to Do Today, Hang Out at a Cat Café
Six o'clock in the Evening
After a full day of battles, Victor had achieved an impressive six consecutive victories. Although the final match had its unpleasant moments, the overall results were steady and positive.
Victory!
Leaving Battle Arena No. 13, Victor pulled out his phone and saw several unread messages in his group chat with two friends.
3:00 PM
[Ampharos]: Exhausted! Both Corviknight and SWABLU are completely out of energy!
[Ampharos]: Final record: 3 wins, 1 loss. I'll log off while you guys continue battling!
4:00 PM
[CalmReflections]: 4 wins, 1 loss. My last match was against an elite player trying to crush weaker opponents.
[CalmReflections]: Heading home to train Machokp00 and Pangoro. I'm not leaving until they reach elite level!
Victor raised an eyebrow. It seemed both of his friends had done well. He quickly typed his update in the chat.
6:03 PM
[PokémonMaster]: Reporting in! 6 consecutive wins!
[PokémonMaster]: Took down an early elite-level Kommo-o in my final match. Not bad, huh?
6:04 PM
[AmpharosFan]: 6.
[CalmReflections]: 6.

First Day of Classes
The first day of school was a hard hit for many students who had come in full of excitement and ambition.
"Why is it like this? I finally got my starter Pokémon, and it's my first time battling with classmates. These two happy events should have made today amazing!"
"Instead, I'm stuck in a classroom. What happened to the adventure I imagined?"
The morning schedule consisted of History, Pokémon Training, Mathematics, and lionesus (a unique language). Interestingly, chinese (a useless language)wasn't included in the Alliance curriculum.
By mid-morning, the initial excitement in the classroom had faded, replaced by a collective wave of disappointment. Students who thought they'd spend their day battling or entering contests found themselves stuck in cultural lessons instead.
Victor, however, felt differently. Ever since awakening his aura abilities, his mind had become much sharper. He had already self-studied all third-year high school material before the term began. Demonstrating his knowledge during the morning, Victor earned a special privilege: he could skip cultural classes to focus on training his Pokémon.
While others struggled to stay focused, Victor practiced his aura skills in class, relishing the feeling of growth.
---
At 5:00 PM, school finally ended, and most students trudged home in exhaustion. Victor, still brimming with energy, made an unusual decision:
"Nothing to do today? I'll visit a cat café!"
---
The Cat Café
In the city center, Victor arrived at a shop called Whisker Wonderland Cat Café. Bright and spacious, the café housed six feline Pokémon resting in their respective areas. However, there wasn't a single customer in sight.
Victor couldn't help but wonder how the shop managed to survive. It was the same during his last visit.
"Ding-ling-ling~~"
Pushing the door open, the soft chime woke the shop owner, a man in his thirties with a kind and upright demeanor.
"Ah… It's you, Victor," the man greeted, rubbing his eyes.
Victor had always thought the shop owner's honest looks suited a policeman more than a café owner.
"Are you still open?" Victor asked, glancing around.
The shop's unique charm lay in its "big cats"—final-evolved feline Pokémon like Luxray, Persian, Zangoose, Pyroar, Incineroar, and Meowstic. These regal creatures were far from the cute Espurrs or Skittys typically found in other cafés.
"We're still open. Same prices as before. Want something to drink?" the shop owner asked as he walked to the counter.
"Give me a mango sago."
"Got it."
As the shop owner busied himself at the bar, Victor made his way to his chosen Pokémon for the day: Luxray.
---
Luxray
Luxray, with its lion-like appearance, had an air of quiet authority. Its black mane framed its blue face and shoulders, while its long tail with a yellow star swished gently.
Victor had chosen this café precisely because of its unique Pokémon. Last time, he'd managed to tame Zangoose's feisty nature under the shop owner's watchful eyes. Today, it was Luxray's turn.
As Victor approached, Luxray's ears twitched. Golden eyes locked onto him, a flicker of recognition in their depths. Why wasn't he going to Zangoose?
Ignoring the Pokémon's confusion, Victor confidently reached out, gently stroking its mane and chin. The initially wary Luxray soon relaxed, melting into the sofa under Victor's skilled touch.
---
Victor's curiosity didn't stop at petting. Activating his system's detection function, he analyzed Luxray's data, marveling at the strength of these seemingly lazy yet powerful feline Pokémon.
Who would have thought a quiet evening in a cat café could be so rewarding?
