POKEMON: PICK UP THE MYSTICAL POKEMON DIANCIE AT THE BEGINNING

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: The Second Pokémon

Chapter 11: The Second Pokémon

Three days had passed since Victor's battle with Roman and Tessa, and there was still more than half a month before the end of winter vacation.

Today, Victor and his father planned to visit Nestgrove, a city adjacent to Celestia, to choose Victor's second Pokémon. Victor had heard that Nestgrove had the largest Pokémon breeding base in the crimson Alliance. Within the base were minority groups of late-blooming (pseudo-legendary) Pokémon that were rarely seen elsewhere.

Outside the Rising Sun Gym, Victor's father had been waiting for him for quite a while. Seeing Victor walking towards him quickly, his father crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows. As a strong trainer close to the King level, Victor's father had meticulous observation skills.

The Victor in front of him had clearly been deliberately and carefully groomed. He already had a good foundation—being a seventeen-year-old young man full of vitality—and his handsome appearance stood out even more after his careful grooming.

However, it pleased jhon that his son was willing to take care of himself. It would be even better if he could find a beautiful wife someday. It was a pity that Victor had gone through all this trouble tidying himself up just to meet his second Pokémon.

Victor trotted to his father's side, signaling that he was ready. Jhon waved his hand and threw a high-level Poké Ball. A Charizard with a dominant and powerful aura emerged.

Charizard was Victor's father's ace Pokémon and the only one among all his gym-level Pokémon that had reached the King level. This Charizard was much larger than usual, and its broad back could easily accommodate both Victor and his father.

Once Victor and his father were seated, Charizard flapped its wings and activated the [Fly] move. Sky-blue flying energy surrounded the two, lifting them into the air.

In this world, Flying-type Pokémon often used Flying moves to carry people and objects. Under the protection of these moves, passengers and cargo were safeguarded from falling—unless the Pokémon itself fell.

Wrapped in the energy shield of the Flying move, Victor didn't even feel the wind on his face. Initially apprehensive about riding Charizard for the first time without additional protection, Victor quickly felt at ease and even had the leisure to examine Charizard's data.

Pokémon: [Charizard]

Attributes: [Fire, Flying]

Gender: [♂]

Ability: [Solar Power]

Level: [73]

Moves: [Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen, Dragon Breath, Fire Fang, Slash, Flamethrower, Heat Wave, Dragon Claw, Air Slash, Fire Spin, Flare Blitz, Dragon Rush, Sandstorm, Protect, Dragon Pulse, Fly, Sunny Day, Thunder Punch, Solar Beam]

Charizard's impressive move set was dazzling, almost blinding Victor with its luxury.

Victor had recently discovered a limitation in the system's data panel. Except for his own Pokémon, the panel only displayed the most basic details of other Pokémon, including levels, abilities, and known moves. The specific techniques used to execute those moves, however, weren't displayed.

Although this might seem like a weakness, knowing an opponent's moveset was still a significant advantage in battles.

Soon, Charizard began to descend. The outline of Nestgrove appeared before Victor and jhon. Even though jhon held an official pilot's license for gym leaders, he still needed to land before entering the city and use a toll booth in non-emergency situations.

After passing through the electronic toll station and walking a short distance, the father and son entered Nestgrove. The roadside was lined with Dugtrio and Steelix taxis waiting for passengers.

Victor found it odd that so many taxis were parked, with only a few people using them. A large crowd had gathered around two orange Pokémon carrying satchels.

These Pokémon were orange-yellow with two long, thin antennae and a small horn on their heads. They had large gray eyes, a rounded muzzle, and small nostrils. Their striped bellies were buttery brown, extending to their long tails. Sturdy limbs ended in three claws, and their smooth arms joined seamlessly with their bodies.

The Pokémon were none other than Dragonite.

Dragonite, known for its simple and cute appearance, was a late bloomer with immense power upon reaching its final evolution. Every pseudo-legendary Pokémon that reached its final stage possessed at least professional-level combat ability.

Dragonite's combination of cuteness, strength, and versatility made it extremely popular in this world, with fans across the nation.

At that moment, one of the Dragonite took out a tag from its bag. The tag had a QR code on one side and text on the other. Using its claw, Dragonite pointed to the back of the tag, which read:

[Dragonite Taxi Service: 200 Yuan per ride within Rongcheng. No trips outside the city. Please scan the QR code to book your ride.]

Victor couldn't help but wonder why such a powerful Pokémon was being used for a taxi service, but he set that thought aside. Right now, the priority was choosing his new partner.

Victor quickly dragged his father, who was eager to try the Dragonite taxi, toward a Steelix taxi instead. Waiting for a Dragonite could take until the evening, and Victor, eager to choose his new Pokémon, didn't want to waste any time.

---

The father and son took the taxi and soon arrived at the Nestgrove Breeding Center.

The breeding center was an oval-shaped building, massive in scale, designed to provide ample space for nurturing different types of Pokémon. Jhon took victor straight to the reception desk.

Jhon took out his phone and displayed a QR code to the beautifully made-up receptionist.

After completing some formalities, the receptionist said, "You must be Rising Sun Gym Leader jhon. The [Outstanding Fire-Type Starter Pokémon Package] you redeemed through the Alliance system has been processed. The selected Pokémon are ready for pick-up in the storage area."

Handing over two ID card-like passes, she added, "These temporary passes will grant you access to the fifth underground floor. Staff will assist you there."

Victor and his father quickly took the elevator down.

"Ding—." The elevator beeped as they reached their destination. After passing several high-tech security checkpoints, the father and son finally arrived at the storage room where Victor's future Pokémon awaited.
