Pokemon: I am Gary

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Eating Tangyuan or Dumplings

The barbecue party ended successfully amidst everyone's joyful atmosphere after watching the movie "Pikachu's Summer Courtyard."

Gary's Pokémon grouped together, leaning on each other as they fell asleep.

Gary took Agatha and Lorelei back to the living room to play cards, while Professor Oak, who tried to sneak away, was also caught and brought back.

Lorelei wasn't very interested in playing Dou Di Zhu, so it became a game between Gary, Professor Oak, and Agatha.

Holding a hand of cards, Gary cautiously observed the others.

Golduck sat behind Gary, adjusted its glasses, and pointed at the bomb in Gary's hand. "Blow it up?"

Gary shot a glance at Golduck. How would he leave after that? A single three?

"Watch me! Four twos with two kings!" Professor Oak confidently wiped his face and played his cards!

Gary covered his face. Grandpa, if you can't play, just say it!

"Hehe~" Agatha waved her hand. "Four preserved eggs! Blow it up!"

Professor Oak's face immediately darkened.

Gary helplessly followed suit. "I'll blow it up too!"

Agatha pouted. "Pass, pass, pass~"

Then, Gary carefully pulled out a three. "A three…"

Professor Oak's face turned slightly red. "Cough... I can't take it…"

Gary immediately fell over. What kind of game was this?

Sure enough, Agatha directly played an ace to crush him and then followed up with a straight flush...

"Hehehe~ Sorry! I won again~" Agatha picked up a piece of paper beside her and slapped it on Professor Oak's face.

When it was Gary's turn, he raised Gengar's big face. "Come on…"

Agatha was not polite either, slapping a curse symbol on Gengar's forehead.

Gengar stuck out its tongue and licked it right into its stomach.

"Thank you, Agatha," Gary said with a smile. This item could enhance the power of ghost-type Pokémon's moves. What a good item!

"Ahh, I can't play anymore; let's all go to sleep," Professor Oak surrendered helplessly.

Agatha glanced at Professor Oak and nodded in satisfaction. "Alright then, good night everyone~"

Everyone returned to their rooms, and Gary also took Eevee back to his bedroom to rest.

The next morning, when Gary woke up, he found that Agatha and Lorelei had already left.

"Grandpa, why do you think Lorelei and Agatha left so early?" Gary asked while sipping his latte.

"How would I know?" Professor Oak shrugged and said nervously. "Maybe they just had some tasks and happened to pass by."

"Hmm~?" Gary suddenly froze. Calculating the time, those two wouldn't be planning to raid the Viridian Gym, would they?

The two Elite Four members could only be Uncle Giovanni who deserved such treatment.

He was thinking whether he should report it so that Uncle Giovanni could move valuable items from the organization first.

Suddenly—boom!!

A huge explosion came from the direction of Viridian City, with thick black smoke rising into the air.

At the same time, a meteor streaked across the sky...

Gary ran out of his room and looked at the meteor in the sky, letting out a sigh of relief.

Almost forgot about my Mewtwo boss.

This wave belongs to me; I don't need you to act; I'll blow up the base myself!

"Hmm, looks like I don't need to worry about Lorelei."

...

At the Viridian Gym, Uncle Giovanni stood up from a pile of rubble with a dirty face.

"Damn it, still no good~" Although he had been mentally prepared for it, Mewtwo's betrayal still made Giovanni somewhat angry.

Just then, three clear-eyed fools approached.

"Uh, boss~ we three…" Jessie hesitated to speak.

Seeing Uncle Giovanni board the helicopter, James couldn't help but ask. "Boss, where do we go from here?"

Giovanni couldn't help but twitch his mouth. "You guys can follow the Green executives from now on! Don't bother me!"

Throwing down a communicator, Giovanni boarded the plane without looking back; he was heading to the beach villa in Binu, to soothe his sorrow over his base being blown up...

The trio of Team Rocket held onto the communicator with tears in their eyes...

They thought they were destined to be expelled from Team Rocket after failing for an entire season.

Unexpectedly, they became direct subordinates of the Green executives!

"We must work hard for the Green executives from now on!" Meowth said tearfully.

"Why don't we catch that little brat's Pikachu and give it to the executives?" Jessie suggested.

"Good idea!" James nodded excitedly.

Without further ado, the three headed towards Pallet Town.

In Viridian Forest, a sea of riot police led by Officer Jenny stopped in their tracks.

Lorelei hung up the phone and waved her hand helplessly. "A huge explosion has occurred at Viridian Gym; it has become a pile of ruins. Giovanni and Team Rocket personnel are also missing."

"What a pity!" said handsome Mr. Interpol as he slammed his palm down. "It will be even harder to catch Giovanni next time!"

"Alright, let's wrap things up." Agatha sighed.

The police dispersed without success while Agatha stayed in Viridian City.

Before a new gym leader for Viridian Gym was selected, Agatha would temporarily take on the responsibilities of gym trainers and remain stationed in Viridian City.

Lorelei walked alongside Agatha on Viridian City's main street as they surveyed the ruins of the gym together—a young woman and an elder examining the scene.

"If this needs renovation, it will take quite some time," Lorelei frowned.

"It's fine; I have my own house in Viridian City," Agatha smiled. "Moreover, this year's Indigo League is approaching; it doesn't matter if the gym is temporarily closed. But you—where do you plan to go next? Do you want to accompany me in Viridian City?"

Lorelei shook her head with a smile. "I have to return to Seven Islands; you know that Pokémon lives on that island; I can't rest easy."

"Alright then; let's meet again after the Indigo League," Agatha nodded and turned away alone.

Lorelei slowly walked towards the port. She planned to take Lapras back directly.

Suddenly, she was attracted by red lanterns in the shopping district.

Looking at the posters stuck on the window, Lorelei realized that tomorrow was January 1st!

New Year's Eve~

Thinking for a moment while hugging her arms, Lorelei turned around and walked into a shop where she bought red lanterns, glutinous rice flour, some snacks and chocolates.

She handed large bags over to Jinx, then turned back towards Pallet Town.

On New Year's Eve, she couldn't be alone; she would return after tomorrow instead.

After mentally preparing herself, Lorelei stepped lightly onto her way home.

In Pallet Town, Ash returned home with Misty and Brock after being away for so long from their two-story red-roofed house.

"This kid sure knows how to pick his timing! Come inside quickly; tonight we're making dumplings," Aunt Delia looked happily at her son returning from traveling.

Brock tied on an apron and reliably stated, "Please let me help!"

Misty shyly scratched her head. "I can help too…"

Ash and Brock? Please! You just need to help eat...

Misty's cooking could no longer be described as dark; it was at a level worthy of being called deadly...

At Professor Oak's lab, Gary was busy with Gengar as well. That Golduck was utterly unreliable when it came to working...

Hanging red lanterns at the door, Scizor even cut out some paper decorations—what an impressive feat!

The entire lab became festive as New Year's spirit gradually filled every corner.

Even though there was still some time until New Year's Day, Gary decided to celebrate early this year.

Taking celery and chives out of the fridge, Gary thought for a moment before asking. "Grandpa, should we have dumplings or Tangyuan for dinner?"

"Let's make both~" A gentle voice rang out from outside as Lorelei appeared with Jinx there.

"I want to try both~" Lorelei smiled brightly.

Professor Oak pushed aside his computer keyboard. "It's lively today; let's take a break; I'll go set up a movie while you two prepare dinner."

With his hands behind his back, Professor Oak leisurely walked off to drink tea in the living room.

In the kitchen area, Gary took what Jinx had handed him while Lorelei took off her coat and put on an apron. "Is there anything I can help with?"

Gary nodded with a smile. "Then let's prepare Tangyuan first."

Warm light illuminated the lab as festive cheer infected everyone...
