Sabrina was undoubtedly furious. Eddie had indeed been deceiving her, treating her like a ghost throughout their encounter. Any woman would be angry hearing such words.

Though admittedly, her beautiful long hair and the way she floated through the rain in the cemetery did resemble something supernatural.

Sabrina continued to sneer, her expression ice-cold and veins visibly pulsing on her forehead. The psychic energy radiating from her body alarmed even Koga, who stood nearby.

"How did this trainer manage to provoke the emotionally detached Sabrina to such an extent?" Koga wondered, somewhat impressed.

He wasn't impressed by Eddie's strength or potential, but rather by his ability to incite such rage in Sabrina.

Of course, admiration was one thing—eliminating the threat was another matter entirely.

However, even now, it wouldn't be simple for Koga and Sabrina—two Gym Leaders and near-Elite Trainers—to deal with Eddie.

The Champion-level Kangaskhan shouldn't be underestimated. While Koga and Sabrina were two ranks stronger than Eddie, Kangaskhan was two ranks stronger than them.

Moreover, the higher the Trainer rank, the greater the gap between levels. In reality, the difference between them and Kangaskhan was considerably larger than the gap between them and Eddie.

Additionally, Eddie's own abilities were substantial. Even as an Elite Trainer, when pushing his capabilities to their limits, he could challenge a Gym Leader, and at near-Elite level, he could hold his own for a while.

Of course, if they knew about the effect of Eddie's Viridian power, they would probably retreat immediately to avoid being defeated by him.

"Miss Sabrina, are you certain you want to fight me now? Relying on the weakened Koga and his Pokémon against me while I'm protected by Kangaskhan?" Eddie questioned.

Eddie recognized that conflict seemed inevitable, but he had a simpler path to victory available, so he attempted to buy time.

"Haha, kid, in my training regimen, I've gone without food for more than 50 days, surviving on water alone. A few days of hunger is nothing to me," Koga retorted.

"As for my Pokémon, they're even more resilient than I am. While I can't claim to be fully recovered, I still retain about 40% of my combat capability."

Koga's message was clear. Even at half strength, he remained a formidable opponent.

Furthermore, though Eddie demonstrated impressive battle awareness, his raw power was somewhat lacking. If Koga were alone, he would certainly retreat immediately, but with Sabrina present—and her fighting ability virtually intact—the situation changed.

"Also, that Pokémon may protect you, but what about the one called Gary? He might need some explanation here."

Koga was making an obvious threat—if Eddie used Kangaskhan solely for his own protection, they would target Gary.

Eddie glanced at Gary, whose eyes remained unfocused, and rolled his eyes. This guy would prove to be a liability someday. He wondered how Gary might feel hearing this assessment when he regained consciousness.

"Hey, Gary, they're calling you a burden—and right now, you actually are one. Remember this feeling for the future."

From Koga's previous behavior, Eddie understood that Gary was aware of his circumstances but couldn't fully recover his faculties yet.

"Wait—this kid is too composed. Sabrina, let's begin! We need to deal with him quickly!" Koga suddenly felt uneasy.

Eddie's calm demeanor reminded him eerily of their encounter at Mt. Moon days ago. That look of assured victory had left a lasting impression on Koga.

He didn't want to delay any longer and urged Sabrina to initiate an attack.

"Miss Sabrina, do you really need to join forces with Koga against me? We were excellent partners fighting together just moments ago."

Sabrina didn't respond verbally. Feeling deceived, she attacked Eddie with a contemptuous expression.

Alakazam unleashed a powerful Psychic attack directed at Eddie, moving with extraordinary speed and force.

But Kangaskhan stood protectively before Eddie.

While the attack would have been extremely dangerous for Eddie, to Kangaskhan it was merely a nuisance.

The dragon didn't employ any specific moves—it simply crossed its arms over its chest and effortlessly absorbed the impact.

Sabrina had known this attack wouldn't overcome Eddie, but it served to demonstrate her position.

"That's your answer. Very well, let's battle," Eddie remarked, still appearing satisfied—no, he looked as though victory was already assured.

"Miss Sabrina, do you recall my Greninja? Care to guess where it might be at this moment?" Eddie asked, barely containing his amusement as he foresaw the outcome.

"That Greninja?! Damn it, Koga, watch out—" Sabrina suddenly realized that Eddie's Greninja wasn't anywhere near him.

It had been by Eddie's side when he commanded Blizzard, but now it was nowhere to be seen.

However, she didn't have time to complete her warning.

A Water Shuriken struck Koga from behind at tremendous speed.

The attack wasn't just incredibly fast but launched from close proximity to Koga's back. Before anyone—human or Pokémon—could react, the Water Shuriken struck Koga forcefully in his lower back.

Koga's face instantly drained of color. His mouth opened wide and his eyes bulged. Already weakened from days of hunger, with dark circles under his sunken eyes, he couldn't even cry out in pain. He could only gape like a broken bellows, air escaping silently.

Half-kneeling on the ground, Koga remained speechless, his face contorted in agony as he wondered if he'd suffered permanent damage to a particularly sensitive area. In that moment, Koga felt fortunate he already had a child.

"...When did your Greninja position itself behind us? It was still beside you when you were pursuing Golbat," Sabrina questioned.

She recognized that victory today was impossible. Koga was completely incapacitated, and she couldn't defeat Eddie alone while he remained under Kangaskhan's protection.

But she genuinely wanted to know when Eddie had arranged this strategy. Had he anticipated confronting them from the very beginning?
