Chapter 37: Stalker rocket's
Haru then sent out the Gyarados, as it was in the lake, it's eyes was no longer red. "Hey there buddy".
Haru smiled softly as the massive Red Gyarados gently touched his hand with its massive head. The connection between them was undeniable now. His eyes met the creature's, which were no longer glowing with an angry red hue but were calm and almost serene.
"Hey there, buddy," Haru spoke softly, his voice calm and soothing, as if reassuring the legendary Pokémon. He had spent years understanding the unspoken bonds between humans and Pokémon, and now he could feel the immense strength and intelligence of the Gyarados under his touch.
Lance, still observing, raised an eyebrow. "He seems no longer hostile. What happened?" he asked, his tone both curious and impressed.
James, always the observant one, pointed out with a nod. "Look, his eyes aren't red anymore. What did you do, Haru?"
Haru glanced at the Gyarados one more time, still processing the surreal moment. "I didn't do much, honestly. Just connected with it on a deeper level. I used my Aura powers to communicate, to try to understand what it was feeling. It's not about forcing control—sometimes, you have to just trust the bond. This Gyarados wasn't evil; it was just... angry. There's a difference."
Casey, who had been standing silently by, watched the interaction with wide eyes. "That's amazing, Haru. You... you calmed it down with just a touch? I didn't know Aura could do that."
Haru gave a small smile. "It's not always that easy, but sometimes, Pokémon just need to know you're not a threat. Once the bond is established, they're more likely to trust you. This Gyarados... it's powerful, but not malicious. Just misunderstood."
Jessie, who had been staring at her own Gyarados with a mix of frustration and awe, sighed dramatically. "Why couldn't you be so nice to me when I captured you?" she muttered under her breath, her Gyarados now looking at her in confusion as if it understood her disappointment. "I spent years trying to get you under control, and now Haru does this... unbelievable."
James laughed a little, elbowing Jessie playfully. "Maybe you need to try that Aura thing next time, Jessie."
Jessie rolled her eyes. "Oh, sure. I'll just try and connect with my Gyarados using 'Aura.'"
But then, to everyone's surprise, Jessie's Gyarados gave a low growl and nuzzled her arm as if responding to her irritation. Jessie blinked in surprise before rubbing the Pokémon's head. "Well... maybe we're getting somewhere, huh?" she muttered.
Haru, still watching the Red Gyarados, stepped back slowly. The creature's eyes were now a calming blue, and it seemed almost peaceful. "It's going to be a while before we truly understand each other, but we've made a good start."
Lance dismounted Dragonite, his voice now laced with respect. "That was... impressive. It's not often someone can reach a Pokémon like that. I'll admit, I'm surprised, Haru."
Haru nodded, the pride of capturing such a powerful and legendary Pokémon still settling in his chest. "It wasn't about fighting it. Sometimes, the hardest battles are the ones we don't throw punches in." He looked at Lance. "You know that better than anyone."
Lance's expression softened. "I do. Maybe I was too focused on the fight rather than the connection before... you've shown me something different today."
Casey stepped forward, her Meganium standing proudly by her side. "Haru, I think this Red Gyarados is going to be a valuable part of your team."
Haru nodded thoughtfully, recalling the brief, intense connection he had shared with the Pokémon. "Yeah... but right now, I'm just glad it's not a threat anymore. We can figure out the rest later."
The Red Gyarados moved slightly in the water, its tail creating a ripple across the surface. Haru felt a sense of calm wash over him—something he hadn't expected after such a chaotic battle.
James, still processing everything, said with a grin, "Well, now that we've got that under control, I think it's time to move on to Mahogany City. Haru's about to get his sixth badge, after all."
Jessie sighed, looking at her own Gyarados with a somewhat softened gaze. "Maybe we can get there without any more giant, angry sea monsters... or at least, I hope so."
Haru turned to face the group, a renewed sense of purpose in his eyes. "Let's go. There's still work to be done, and a gym badge to earn."
With that, they made their way toward Mahogany City, the sound of the Red Gyarados gently splashing in the water behind them, as the storm clouds slowly began to clear. Haru had once again proven that, even in the most dangerous of situations, understanding and connection could be the key to overcoming any challenge.
Meanwhile two people were watching them using there binocular from the bushes, and there was two people there these were non othen two team rocket grunts female, will everyone already knew them it was Rose and her younger Sister Diamond.
As the duo observed Haru and his group from a safe distance, the air around them was thick with tension. Rose's binoculars were firmly focused on Haru, her eyes sparkling with admiration as she watched him interact with the Red Gyarados.
"He is so cool," Rose whispered, a wide grin spreading across her face. She had seen many trainers in her time, but there was something different about Haru—the way he connected with Pokémon, the way he commanded respect without needing to force it.
Diamond, standing beside her, rolled her eyes slightly. She wasn't as enamored with Haru as her sister was, and her thoughts were more pragmatic. "Not what the boss wanted, but hey, we got information. So now what?"
Rose's grin faded slightly as she turned to her younger sister, her tone shifting to something more calculating. "Well, we reported to him that the Radio experiment went well. The boss should be satisfied with that for now. But as for Haru and the Gyarados..." she trailed off, glancing back through the binoculars at the scene unfolding before them.
Diamond raised an eyebrow, sensing an opportunity. "And as for the Gyarados, do we tell Archer about Haru? He'd want to know about that capture, especially if it was him who did it."
Rose's expression darkened, and she shot her sister a sharp glare. "If you do, I'll tell him about Ash. How about that? You think Archer would like to hear about that?" The underlying threat in her voice was clear—Rose wasn't about to let her sister jeopardize their plans with another potential mess, especially when Ash's name could complicate everything.
Diamond shifted uncomfortably but didn't back down. "Fine, fine, I get it. But we can't just pretend we didn't see this. Haru's got something that could be valuable to Team Rocket, and the Gyarados—it's not something to ignore."
Rose took a deep breath, looking back at Haru as he continued his journey toward Mahogany City. The situation wasn't simple. On one hand, Haru was a powerful and interesting trainer. But on the other, if they reported him to Team Rocket, it would draw unwanted attention to him. "Let's just say Lancer defeated the Gyarados and captured it. That's all they need to know for now. As for Haru... we don't have to be loyal to Team Rocket, do we?"
Diamond nodded slowly, understanding the gravity of what Rose was suggesting. "You're right. We do what's best for us. I'll stick with your plan, but if Haru keeps showing up like this, we might need to rethink things."
Rose smiled slyly. "Let's see how this plays out. For now, we stick to the report and keep our distance. Archer doesn't need to know everything."
The two grunts watched quietly for a few more moments as Haru and his group disappeared from sight, heading toward Mahogany City. With their decision made, Rose and Diamond began to retreat into the cover of the trees, their minds already working through the next steps.
As they made their way back to their hideout, the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves was a faint reminder of the unpredictable path ahead. Haru's actions had definitely caught their attention, and whether they liked it or not, they had become part of a larger game. Team Rocket's reach was long, but Rose and Diamond knew they had their own plans—plans that didn't necessarily align with the organization's expectations.
The question was, how long could they keep walking their own path before their loyalty was truly tested?
Diamond groaned, clearly frustrated. "Screw us and our crush on two trainers, dumbass."
Rose, with a mischievous grin, raised an eyebrow at her sister. "Hey, you're the one who has a crush on a 10-year-old."
Diamond's face flushed slightly. "Me and him are the same age, 11! Plus, you're the one who's always talking about Haru."
Rose smirked and leaned back, crossing her arms. "Hey, he's my age—16. And we both lost to them in double battles, which they sent us to jail for. I guess we just can't catch a break."
Diamond sighed, pulling out the handkerchief Ash had given her during one of their earlier encounters. "Yeah, I know," she said softly, almost wistfully.
Rose reached into her pocket and pulled out her own handkerchief—the one Haru had given her during their brief interaction. She held it up in front of her sister, her voice tinged with a mix of admiration and frustration. "Don't forget it."
Diamond, still holding the handkerchief from Ash, stared at it for a moment before looking up at Rose. "I guess we're just stuck with these feelings, huh? Both of us, caught up in the world of trainers we can't have. But hey, at least we're not alone in this mess."
Rose chuckled, though there was a hint of bitterness in the laugh. "I guess so, Diamond. It's a weird kind of bond we've got."
Behind them, their Pokémon—Crobat and Umbreon—were lounging in the shade, seemingly unaffected by the emotional tension between their trainers. Crobat, wings stretched out, had its eyes half-closed in contentment, while Umbreon's ringed tail flicked lazily, a clear indication that the two Pokémon were at ease, even if their trainers weren't.
Diamond and Rose shared a quiet moment, the two handkerchiefs between them symbolizing not just the crushes on their respective trainers, but a deeper connection to a world that was far more complicated than they'd ever expected. They had their own loyalties, but it seemed like, at least for now, those were being tested in ways neither of them anticipated.
In a different place, Archer leaned back in his chair, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he looked over the report from Rose. His eyes gleamed with satisfaction, but there was still work to be done. The legendary beasts were just the beginning.
He picked up the phone and dialed a number, waiting for the scientist on the other end to answer.
"Yes, Archer?" the voice crackled through the receiver.
Archer's smile turned into a more serious expression. "It worked. The Radio experiment was successful. Now, how is the tracking device working on locating the legendary beasts?"
The scientist hesitated for a moment before responding. "Are you sure it will work, even with the radio waves and the collar we built?"
Archer's eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward. "We've tested the collar on several powerful Pokémon, and the radio waves are fine-tuned to interact with the energy signatures of the legendary beasts. It should work. The real question is whether the beasts will resist or if they'll be drawn in."
The scientist sighed, clearly nervous. "But what if they resist? They are legendary for a reason. Their power might be beyond our control."
Archer's eyes hardened as he looked at the monitors in front of him. "Then we'll adapt. We have to, for the sake of our operation. The collar will suppress their powers enough for us to capture them. Once we have them, Team Rocket will be unstoppable."
There was a pause on the other end before the scientist replied with a reluctant, "Understood, sir. We're still monitoring the region, but I believe we're close to pinpointing their exact location. The radio waves are getting stronger, and we should have a lock soon."
"Good," Archer said, his voice cool and calculating. "Keep me updated. And remember, no one else can know about this. We cannot risk anyone interfering with our plans."
The scientist's voice was steady now. "Of course, sir. Everything is in motion. We'll be ready when you give the signal."
Archer hung up the phone, his smile returning. He knew the path ahead would be dangerous, but the legendary beasts—especially the one that could rival even the most powerful Pokémon—were essential to his plans. Once they were under Team Rocket's control, nothing would be able to stand in their way.
He glanced at the monitors again, seeing the faint readings from the collars. The hunt for the legendary beasts was on, and Archer was more than ready to take control of their immense power.
