Pokemon: Bounty Hunter

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Enyata Corporation

"Thank you for the match."

Silas smiled as he shook hands with his opponent.

The other trainer gave a wry smile, handed over 5,000 Pokédollars, and left.

Silas quickly assessed Boldore's stamina. After eight consecutive battles, it had clearly reached its limit.

Even with brief rests and recovery time in between, it would be tough for Boldore to take on another match.

As for Pidgeot and Blaziken, battling here held little value for them.

Most of the Pokémon around were either at the Standard level or had just stepped into the advanced tier.

To be blunt, having Blaziken or Pidgeot fight here would just be bullying.

His main goal was to build Boldore's battle experience, and in that regard, the result was satisfactory. Plus, he earned a bit of lunch money small gains were still gains.

Silas returned Boldore to its Poké Ball and waved to the surrounding crowd, signaling that he was voluntarily ending his participation in the matches, then turned and walked away.

The spectators sighed in disappointment, clearly wishing to see more of the young man's exciting battles.

But seeing the condition of his Pokémon, they couldn't blame him. None of them believed this young boy had another, even stronger Pokémon to use after all, he was just a kid.

As two more trainers took the field, the crowd either left in small groups or chose to stay and cheer for the next match.

Silas headed to the nearby Pokémon Center, handed Boldore to Nurse Joy for recovery, and then planned to grab some lunch.

Having walked all the way from Lavender Town and participated in multiple battles, it was already around noon.

"Excuse me, are you Trainer Silas Alaric?"

Just as Silas was on his way to a restaurant, a sweating man in a business suit carrying a briefcase stopped him.

"Ah, yes I am. Sorry, but who are you?" Silas asked, a bit puzzled.

No one had mentioned they were coming to find him recently.

"I'm Tosuke Kurahashi from the Enyata Corporation," the man said while pulling a business card from his briefcase and handing it over with both hands.

"I'm sure you've heard of our company. I wonder if you could spare a few minutes to let me explain why I've come."

Silas narrowed his eyes, confirming the man's identity, then gave a slight nod indicating it was okay.

The two of them walked over to a nearby rest area and began to talk.

Enyata Corporation—a massive commercial conglomerate. Their main businesses included budget-level Pokémon medicine, Poké Balls, Pokémon food, as well as human clothing, groceries, and automobiles.

Of course, "budget-level" was only in comparison to giants like the Silph Company and Devon Corporation.

In reality, most people still preferred Enyata's products for everyday needs.

While Silph and Devon's products were superior in quality and functionality, the biggest issue was their price they were outrageously expensive.

If Silas hadn't been so dedicated to giving his Pokémon the best possible care, he wouldn't have opted for the other two companies' offerings.

Enyata's pricing was far more accessible. Naturally, this also came with the trade-off of lower technical standards.

What puzzled Silas now was that he had never had any dealings with Enyata, so why were they reaching out to him?

As for how they managed to find him well, that wasn't surprising at all.

Enyata Corporation maintained strong ties with every official Gym in the Kanto region, was a partner of Professor Oak's laboratory, and also had connections with the Nurse Joy family at Pokémon Centers.

Through any one of those three channels, it would've been incredibly easy to track him down.

In fact, it would've been strange if a company of that scale couldn't find him.

"Phew," said Tosuke, wiping sweat from his brow and gulping down a large sip of water. "So, what do you think, Trainer Silas?

If everything sounds good, we'll send the official documents to Pewter Gym, and they'll act as an intermediary to confirm everything."

Silas thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, I agree. Sounds fine to me."

Touske's face lit up with joy. "Thank you very much for supporting our company. I won't take up any more of your time."

With that, the two parted ways, and Tosuke hurried off to his next task.

Silas headed toward the dining hall. As he ordered and ate, he reflected on what Tosuke had just told him.

"Battle Frontier... I think I've heard of this in my previous life. Another form of Gym challenge, right? The founder was some guy who always wore sunglasses, wasn't he?"

That matched up. The boss of the Enyata Group,Scott Enyata, was a chubby man with a fondness for sunglasses.

Indeed, Tosuke visit had been to discuss matters regarding the Battle Frontier.

Of course, he wasn't inviting Silas to become one of the so-called Frontier Brains the Battle Frontier's equivalent of Gym Leaders. Silas clearly wasn't strong enough yet for that kind of role.

Instead,Tosuke had come to invite Silas to participate in the future Battle Frontier as a challenger, and to help build up hype in advance.

As for the timeline, he said the corporation hadn't provided a concrete date yet. The Battle Frontier was still under construction, and none of the Frontier Brains had been officially selected.

To put it simply: no location, no confirmed schedule, no clear requirements.

If not for the Enyata Group's reputation, resources, and the hefty 2 million Pokédollar appearance fee, Silas would've walked out right then and there, thinking it was some kind of prank.

A blank-slate event asking him to commit to a challenge already?

But you had to admit, big corporations really were loaded. From what Tosuke hinted, they'd already extended invitations to many others.

Even if 2 million was just the average appearance fee, inviting 100 people meant a total of 200 million Pokédollars. That's two hundred million not just a couple bucks.

And it was obvious they weren't just inviting 100 people.

"Having money really is nice," Silas sighed.

His fingers tapped quickly on his wristwatch, sending messages to a few friends he knew, asking if they'd heard about the Battle Frontier.

Replies came in one after another they'd all received invitations too.

Silas smirked. Perfect. His 2 million fee was the highest among them.

Boys will be boys competing even over something like this.

His friends quickly messaged back that they'd crush him the next time they met.

"Heh. In your next life, maybe," Silas replied to all of them, earning a row of middle-finger emojis in response.

After finishing his meal, Silas returned to the Pokémon Center counter to retrieve his fully-healed Boldore.

That concluded his morning schedule. In the afternoon, he had to head to Celadon City.

Reaching an open clearing, Silas released his Pidgeot.

Its elegant form immediately drew the attention of passersby.

With a calm expression, Silas climbed onto Pidgeot's back, giving it a pat to signal departure.

"Pii~!"

Pidgeot let out a cry and soared into the sky.

Below, people watched with envy, and girls admired his dashing silhouette.

Up in the air, however, Silas's face turned pale. He crouched down and clung tightly to Pidgeot's back, trembling.
