Pokemon - A real story

The battle between Magneton and Espeon might be close but as an experienced trainer, Cynthia could tell that Magneton was just acting and it was not even tried. But Cynthia was not the only one that noticed it. Other also did.

"How the hell is Axel's Pokemons so strong? Blastoise and Staraptor should not be so powerful at uncommon rank. It is like we are seeing the fight between rare rank or elemental rank Pokemons.", commented Steven.

Cynthia also had a serious face. If his uncommon rank Pokemons were so vastly more powerful than them, then what about Charizard? Cynthia didn't know if Charizard was already a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon but she could guess that it already was.

"Well, we will find out in higher-rank battles. I want to see how good his Pokemons really are.", said Cynthia with an icy smile.

One of the main reasons for her coming here was to see how good Axel's Pokemons really were and till now she was very surprised to see that he had exceeded her expectations.

"Let's welcome the finalist of the uncommon rank Pokemon battle.", said the commentator and the people cheered for both of them. Most of them were the people of Hakone city.

One of the things that made this battle so interesting was that none of them knew who was going to win this battle.

Of course, Staraptor was weak to electric moves and Magneton was an electric type Pokemon but Magneton was also weak to fire type moves and Staraptor knew a much of fire type moves.

Both of them stood levitating from the ground. Magneton with its electromagnetic magic and Staraptor with its wings.

"Let the battle begin!!!"

The first thing that Staraptor did was to fly towards Magneton to use its 'Aerial ace'. The move was very fast and just when it came near to it, it was able to use the move 'Intimidate'.

Now, 'Intimidate' had many functions in the real world. Not only, did it lower the attack stat of the opponent but it also had a chance to create fear inside their hearts making them flinch for a few seconds.

Today was a lucky day for Staraptor because it was able to do it. Magneton, at that time, was not able to defend itself as it flinched for a few seconds and Staraptor took complete advantage of it.

BANG!!!

'Aerial ace' had been upgraded and it had become quite powerful. So, Magneton was flung off as it crashed to the ground.

"MAGneee…"

It gave a painful cry but since it was a steel-type Pokemon too, it had good defense. So, it stood up and immediately used the move 'Iron defense'. But that was not all.

It also used the move 'Electric terrain' to power up its electric-type moves.

Meanwhile, Staraptor was also not waiting for it to do whatever it wanted.

Staraptor used the move 'Sunny day' and then 'Heat wave'.

Since 'Electric terrain' was a level 50 move. So, even though the range of the move was not so high as 'Heat wave', it was very powerful and concentrated.

Inside the 'Electric terrain', the speed of Magneton instantly increased. Staraptor used the move 'Flamethrower' towards Magneton.

It gave its best on that move.

Meanwhile, Magneton used the move 'Light screen'. A purple-colored rectangle screen came just next to Magneton as it defended the attack. When those flames bypassed the 'Light screen' defense, Magneton had enough time to dodge the attack.

Staraptor first used the move 'Mud slap' on itself. It had upgraded the move to the best of its ability.

Mud slap (Staraptor) (Level 40): The force of the move has increased. Higher chances to hit the eyes of the target and lower their accuracy.

(Level 45): The user can potentially cover itself with mud. This would reduce the effect of electric moves on the user.

Staraptor trained on this move and modified it specially for this battle. This reduced the effect of electric moves but it did make it slow. But that was not a problem for it. It already had the solution for this.

It used the move 'Tail wind'.

By that time, Magneton had used a powerful 'Discharge' on it which it dodged but it could not dodge the 'Thunder shock' that it sent after.

It held on the pain and then used 'Fiery aura' and then used 'Flamethrower' yet again. But this time, Magneton was ready for it.

It first used the move 'Metal sound' and then used the move 'Light screen' again. 'Metal sound decreased the special defense of the target which was perfect because as it used 'Light screen' and defended the attack, it used 'Zap cannon' to cancel the remaining power of 'Flamethrower' which instantly overpowered the flames and move towards Staraptor.

Since Magenton was still inside the 'Electric terrain', Staraptor didn't want to use any physical move cause it feared being paralyzed from it. But now it had no choice to use physical moves.

Straptor was able to dodge the 'Zap cannon'. The move had a high chance of paralysis so it had to dodge the attack.

Staraptor then went on to use the combination of 'Mud bomb' and 'Wing attack'. It also used the move 'Double team' to increase its speed and confuse Magneton but the battle was getting very unpredictable.

But after some time, it did got hit by 'Thunder wave'. This instantly paralyzed it. Magneton took a full advantage of it and use 'Charge beam'.

BOOOM

Staraptor was flown off to the sky as it stabilized itself in the sky with its wings. Magneton was a tough cookie. It didn't have many special attack moves and Magneton had high defense.

After getting paralyzed, it flinched a lot of times and its speed had drastically decreased. It didn't know how to win this battle now.

A primal cry came from Staraptor as it used the move 'Heat wave' again. But for some reason, the area coverage and the power of the move seemed to have increased by a lot. The move had clearly been upgraded during the battle.

The powerful heat wave burned Magneton and Staraptor took full advantage of it and used the move 'Fiery aura' and then came down with 'Aerial ace'

BANG!!

It was a confirmed one but that was when the battle was over.

Magneton used the move 'Lock-on' and then it used the move 'Mirror coat' with 'Zap cannon'.

'Zap cannon' was a powerful move and it had high chance to paralyze the target. But one of the weakness of the move was that it had very low accuracy. Since the power of the move was so high, the user would not have any chance to time the attack.

But this was solved by the move 'Lock-on'. If the move 'Lock-on' connected, then the next hit was guarantee to hit.

But such a powerful move also had many disadvantages. First of all, the move 'Lock-on' had limited range. That meant that the user must be near for the target to use 'Lock-on' and after the move has been placed, the user must hit the target with another attack in a very less time. As of right now, it was within 5 seconds.

Finally, after getting hit by 'Lock-on', the target could avoid the guarantee hit if the target moves far away from the target. As of right now, Magneton could not guarantee the 'Lock-on' effect if Staraptor flew 50 meters away from it.

But for some reason, all the conditions were fulfilled for the move 'Lock-on' to work.

Staraptor had come near Magneton and it had used the move. Magneton then used the move 'Mirror coat' which would increase the power of its next special attack if it was hit by a special attack before, which it was and it was 'Heat wave'.

So, Staraptor got hit by 'Zap cannon'. Magneton had also reactivated its 'Electric terrain' to power up its electric-type moves.

The move was deadly. Many were surprised because an uncommon-rank Pokemon should not be able to dish out so much damage.

After the dust and smoke settled, everyone saw Staraptor faint on the ground. The medic came rushing down to see if it was okay.

"The winner of the uncommon rank Pokemon battle is Magneton."

"Ok, there is something definitely wrong with Axel's Pokemons. Aren't you guys excited? Don't you want to know?", asked Lance.

"I do but it is not that he is going to tell us anything.", replied Steven.

"He may not tell you but he will tell me. I am his friend."

"Then good luck with that. I will win the rare rank category. You guys will know how good I am.", said Steven.

The funny thing was that Axel didn't have any Pokemons in the rare rank category. All of his Pokemons were now in elemental rank or higher. So, when the commentator announced the Pokemon list for the rare rank, Lance had the chance to make fun of him.

"So, you knew that he didn't have any rare rank Pokemon.", said Lance.

"Of course, I didn't know about it. How could I know about it? I am not even his friend."

But the teasing continued.

The Pokemons that were participating in this round were:

Lucario (Lance) Skarmory (Lance) Slaking (Noah) Pidgeot (Cerlin) (Axel's mother) Agnes (Dragonite) Kingler (Steven) Medicham (Steven) Cynthia (Heracross) Cynthia (Miltank)

The battle of rare rank Pokemon competition started. Axel was surprised to see that Slaking was quite powerful among them. It had recently ranked up to a rare rank and even with its 'Truant' ability, it was able to win the first against Skarmory.

Cerlin's Pidgeot lost the first battle against Cynthia's Heracross. This showed how well trained Cynthia's Heracross was even though it was weak against flying-type moves. It was actually 4 times weak to flying-type moves.

Meanwhile, Agnes's Dragonite won the first round against Cynthia's Miltank.

Axel could tell that Miltank didn't have much fighting experience. Cynthia might just be raising it for milk. But this showed that Agnes was also a serious trainer.

The semifinal was between:

Medichamp Vs Heracross

Slaking Vs Dragonite

Both of the battles were very exciting to watch. Steven seemed to be very close to his word because his Medichamp won against Heracross. Cynthia had been and still was one of the most dominating trainers. Winning against her was a huge moment for Steven.

Dragonite won against Slaking. It had been in rare rank for longer than Slaking and it was a dragon-type Pokemon. So, it was quite powerful.

Finally, it was Medichamp vs Dragonite.

The battle was long and hard. Dragonite had huge stamina and defense but Medichamp was a master of dodging any attacks. The final battle took around 7-8 minutes to complete but finally Dragonite won.

Agnes was really happy to see Dragonite win this round. Her Blastoise had not registered for battle. She knew that her Blastoise would not win because of Axel's Blastoise and other Pokemons but Dragonite really had a chance.

"The winner of the rare rank Pokemon competition is Dragonite. Let's give it a round of applause.", said the commentator.

"With this, the Blaze family Pokemon competition had come to the end of its day 1. I must say that this was an exciting day for me and I hope that you enjoyed it as well..."

The commentator spoke for around 5 minutes and the day was almost over.

"Axel, that was a great battle. I didn't think that Agnes's Dragonite would be so well trained. Was that the Pokemon that I gave to you?", asked Lance.

"Yes, it was the same egg that you gave to me. ", replied Axel.

"Haha, well, dragon-type Pokemons are really strong for a reason. Steven, Cynthia, and I are thinking about having dinner together. Do you want to join us?", asked Lance.

He clearly didn't want to admit that he lost to a little girl. But that was okay. Lance's main Pokemon team was far stronger than Agnes's Dragonite.

The dinner invitation was interesting and he wanted to know what was happening to them. So, this was a good opportunity.
